Footprints That Appeared out of Nowhere

"Ptoo, ptoo—"

In the pitch-black stairwell, a staggering figure braced himself against the wall and spat the scraps out of his mouth.

Had anyone passed by, they would have seen that those things mixed with bloody foam were actually human eyeballs!

"Finally got out. Son of a bitch, that was a tough one." Old Man Sun gasped for breath.

His aged voice was filled with joy.

On his way home, he had encountered a ghost wall and become trapped on a floor that did not exist. Not only had he seen no one, but even the corridor had turned into three elevator lobbies superimposed on one another.

And after entering the Fire Escape, he had been unable to escape that floor no matter whether he went up or down.

As time passed, he had also encountered quite a few terrifying incidents.

Fortunately.

He had become an Awakened, and he had two abilities at that.

So, after paying a certain price, he had successfully escaped that place.

"This isn't the eighth floor... It's the fourteenth. Jumped six floors all at once. How strange."

"And this doesn't seem to be my apartment complex, either."

After resting for a while, Old Man Sun began examining his surroundings. He soon determined that he had not only left that eerie floor, but seemingly his own apartment complex as well.

After all, he had lived there for over twenty years.

Just from the stench in the stairwell, he could tell that this building was much cleaner than the one he lived in.

"Let's hope it doesn't pull any more tricks on me."
