At that moment, Chen Tao appeared in his universe, above the moon, inside the Justice League meeting room he had built.
Earth's radiance spilled into the room, glowing with a soft blue light. Chen Tao and Lex Luthor sat facing each other.
The view outside was breathtaking, but neither Chen Tao nor Luther had any mood to admire it.
Both of them had been terribly busy, and Chen Tao was even busier than Luther. In Chen Tao's absence, Luther had practically become everyone's backbone. The Prime Universe Justice League might not have listened to him that much before, but now that their alliance was fractured and they could barely protect themselves, no one could oppose Luther's authority. Power, however, was often bound to duty. Even someone as energetic as Luther had grown utterly exhausted beneath the pressure of so many affairs.
"So that's the general plan. We'll be gone for a while..."
Chen Tao revealed part of his plan to Luther, mixing truth with falsehood.
On the surface, Chen Tao was merely going to recruit thugs from the Dark Multiverse—
A few stinking fish and rotten shrimp with some power, whose combat strength was roughly equivalent to that of a member of the Prime Universe Justice League.
On a battlefield at the level of a Multiversal Convergence, calling them cannon fodder might be an exaggeration. At most, they counted as elite monsters.
On the surface, Chen Tao's search for these allies seemed completely pointless and useless.
Chen Tao told Luther that he needed to use these allies to devise even more powerful forces. He claimed that this was merely a small effort to increase his chances of victory, but all of that was a smokescreen.
It was a lie.
