| Stage / Realm / Level | Chapter | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Coreless early civilization | 423 429 | In the Middle Ages, humans could not independently condense Professional Cores. Their survival depended on mass-produced equipment, fortifications, discipline, reproduction, and service to stronger races. |
| Alchemical Professional Core methods | 2 | After seeking refuge with the High Elves and studying primitive Elf Magic, humans developed alchemical methods to assimilate Magic Beast crystal cores and form Professional Cores. |
| Early magical development | 426 428 433 | A small number of humans with active mental energy condensed Star Palace cores before magic became widely taught. Xuan Ye later began teaching basic magic and related methods to accelerate human research. |
| Human magical institutions | 474 | The first twelve mental-power awakeners formed the Twelve Saints Kazan Council to preserve knowledge and cultivate another Human Race Demigod, the God of Magic. |
| Demigod era | 568 | Oseros became the Human Race’s strongest Demigod, fought the Undead Scourge for centuries, and left protective Edicts for Reizel and humanity after his death. |
| Modern Saint and Grandmaster presence | 487 504 506 | Later humans produced Saint Ranks, Grandmasters, Divine Emissaries, and feared Human Race spellcasters; Human Grandmasters are regarded as exceptionally dangerous among same-rank foreign races. |
Background / History
Origins
The Human Race’s ancestral grounds on the Holy Mountain contain the Ark, a futuristic structure whose name is inscribed in Chinese rather than Reizel’s Human common tongue. The Ark was later identified as having originated from the lost 27th Immigration Fleet of Earth’s Human Race; differences between the worlds’ time axes account for the historical discrepancy. 439 735
In the 23rd century CE, the Earth Federation constructed 122 immigration ships as Earth’s resources approached depletion. The 27th fleet was displaced through an unstable warp device and a one-way natural wormhole, then survived for more than eight centuries as interstellar nomads. 735
Rise and Decline on Reizel
Humans began as one of Reizel’s weakest races. They could not naturally form Energy Cores or Professional Cores, placing them below even many Magical Beasts and weaker non-human races at equivalent ranks. Their eventual rise came through learning, experimentation, and adaptation rather than innate physical superiority. 2 49
After receiving refuge and primitive magical knowledge from the High Elves, human researchers developed methods to assimilate Magic Beast crystal cores through alchemy. They also expanded their combat potential through implanted foreign bloodlines, Talent Runes, refined equipment, and specialized cultivation paths. 2
These developments enabled humanity to dominate the Hundred Races for more than an epoch. Their supremacy later collapsed in a great calamity roughly six thousand years before Xuan Ye’s arrival, fragmenting their faiths and beginning the Chaotic Dawn Era. 2 504
Middle Ages
During the Middle Ages, the Human Race survived as a subordinate people of the Zupan’er Troll Empire. They defended the eastern frontier against Black Evil Beast tides, resisted Barbarian incursions from the north, produced equipment, and cultivated grain for their Troll suzerains. 423 426
The Wall of Life, built at the cost of nearly half the Human Race’s population, protected the human heartland from repeated beast tides. Human armies relied on standardized armor, giant crossbows, trebuchets, formation warfare, and the deliberate sacrifice of retainers to protect their few Professional Rank elites. 423
Xuan Ye intervened during this period, destroyed the source of the Black Evil Beasts, began teaching Oseros and other humans basic magic, and sought to establish lasting conditions for humanity’s development rather than make them dependent on his personal strength. 428 429 433
After Xuan Ye killed Kordell and forced the Troll Empire to renegotiate, the Human Race gained protection from enslavement while nominally retaining the Trolls as suzerains. This arrangement was eventually superseded by an alliance with the Elf Race. 435 440 473
Oseros and the Seven Nations Era
Oseros, Xuan Ye’s disciple and the appointed leader of the Human Race, became its greatest Demigod. Under his era’s protection, humans began openly resisting other races, and the first mental-power awakeners established the Twelve Saints Kazan Council to transmit magical knowledge. 436 474
Oseros later led humanity against the Undead Scourge for centuries, sealed an Undead leader, and shifted the war to the offensive. Other races’ Saints betrayed and killed him after War God Ares destroyed his Divine Kingdom. His final wishes became Edicts that protected Reizel and the Human Race. 568
Following his death, humanity formed the Seven Nations Council, beginning a new political era. The Human Race’s sacred birthplace and the Council’s seat are located at the Xuan Family stronghold near the Holy Mountain. 568 581
Society and Governance
- Early leadership — Human chieftains were originally chosen by recommendation from different factions, with the position treated as a duty rather than hereditary authority. 433
- Hereditary ambitions — Kordell’s father forced his son into the chieftain’s position, beginning a shift toward family-controlled rule and a more entrenched leadership structure. 433 434
- Kazan City-State — The Horn of the Holy Mountain, later known as the Summit of Saints, is the birthplace and spiritual center of human civilization. 434 436
- Twelve Saints Kazan Council — Founded by the first generation of human mental-power awakeners to preserve magical knowledge and cultivate future protectors. 474
- Seven Nations Council — Formed after Oseros’s death as a central institution of the later Human Race. 568
- Human empires — The Storm Empire is one of six great Human Race empires and occupies nearly a quarter of the Eastern Continent. 569
- Common language — Human common tongue remained a major interspecies language long after humanity’s fall from dominance. 486 504
Abilities & Skills
Professional Core Cultivation
Humans cannot naturally condense Energy Cores, making their early advancement dependent on external materials and learned techniques. 2 423
- Physical cultivators open one of six inner organs to prepare for a Professional Core and determine their future class direction. 5
- Mages develop six mental Star Palaces, a path distinct from physical cultivation. 5
- Levels seven through nine of Knight Attendant are an accumulation period before Professional Rank; level six is considered the normal limit of an ordinary human body. 3 5
- Professional Rank grants a fundamental life transformation, including greatly extended lifespan. 3 5
- Humans possess unusually refined energy control because they train upward from weakness; most Professional Rank humans can learn Burning Core and Jade Shattering techniques. 28
Bloodline Talents
Human bloodline powers are inherited or implanted auxiliary abilities that improve combat performance. 2
- Power of Frenzy can increase strength by more than fifty percent while rapidly consuming qi and blood. 2
- Bloodlust Power and Skin of Steel are among the most common human bloodline talents. 9
- Rare high-tier bloodlines can provide overwhelming same-level advantages, such as the Rosen Family’s Heart Sword Soul, which enables sword strikes to target spiritual weaknesses. 101
- High-level bloodlines became scarce after humanity’s decline because many were hunted, lost, or became difficult to awaken. 2
Talent Runes
Talent Runes are post-natal enhancements inscribed onto a Professional Core by Professional Rank experts. 3
- Known effects include Strength Amplification, Casting Acceleration, Speed Enhancement, Gravity manipulation, and improved perception. 3 319
- All Talent Runes improve Professional Core stability, control over internal energy, and the chance of future breakthroughs. 3 54
- Their scarcity makes them highly valuable; in Stanrosai, the City Lord’s Mansion was once the only local faction with a rune inheritance. 3 54
Research and Adaptation
Humanity’s defining strength is its ability to learn, standardize, and improve foreign knowledge. 2 428
- Human researchers turned primitive Elf Magic and Magic Beast materials into reproducible Professional Core methods. 2
- Human armies mass-produce equipment through molds, allowing even a weak race to equip entire defensive forces. 423
- Xuan Ye identified human research and learning ability—not individual instruction—as the foundation that could allow the race to rise independently. 428
Military Doctrine
Human military power traditionally compensates for weaker innate bodies through equipment, organization, and coordination. 176 423
- Standardized armor, crossbows, artillery, siege engines, and fortified walls support large-scale defense. 423
- Soldiers reform ranks even while injured and shield rare elite combatants with their own bodies. 423
- Human forces use refined equipment, unified command, and coordinated formations to offset their disadvantage against other races at Professional Rank. 176
- A Human Race outpost in the Guardian Realm can field more than one thousand Professional Rank defenders under a Grandmaster and a protective Barrier. 506
Territories & Infrastructure
- Wall of Life — A vast defensive wall protecting the Middle Ages human heartland from Black Evil Beast tides; its construction cost nearly half the Human Race’s lives. 423
- Kazan City-State / Holy Mountain — Birthplace of human civilization and the later Summit of Saints. 434 436
- Ark — An ancient spacecraft embedded in the Human Race’s ancestral grounds, bearing Chinese inscriptions and tied to the 27th Earth immigration fleet. 439 735
- Human Sanctuary — Protective tower created in Tumeng Town after Xuan Ye intervened against Lizardman slave-catchers. 500
- Omdo sanctuaries — After being driven from most of Omdo, humans survived in limited legal sanctuaries or hidden settlements; other races opposed the formation of a unified Human nation. 482 523
Relationships
- High Elves / Elf Race — Early benefactors who gave humans refuge and primitive magical knowledge; later allies who agreed to protect humanity before its full maturation. 2 453
- Zupan’er Troll Empire — Humanity’s former suzerain. Humans defended its frontiers and supplied equipment and grain in exchange for precarious protection. 423 426
- Xuan Ye — A self-proclaimed Human Race member who eliminated the Black Evil Beast threat, taught foundational magic, strengthened human political standing, and trained Oseros. 428 429 433
- Oseros — Xuan Ye’s disciple, Human Race leader, strongest Demigod, and posthumous source of protective Edicts. 436 568
- Earth Federation / 27th Immigration Fleet — The lost fleet from which Reizel’s Ark originated; its discovery links Reizel humanity to Earth’s interstellar migration efforts. 735
- Omdo’s foreign races — Many suppressed, enslaved, or dispersed Human Race communities out of fear that a unified human population could recover its former strength. 482 492
