Background / History

Before founding the Hantian Army, Chao Ritian sought a martial rank but found advancement monopolized by noble families and sects. Unable to secure a place, he worked as a guard; after his Dao Companion left him for a high-ranking household, he chose rebellion rather than continued powerlessness. 114

He established the Hantian Army, a rebel force that swept through Luoshan County, Yishui County, and several surrounding counties. County magistrates failed to suppress the army, while its demonic arts and apparent ability to restore flesh and bone helped Chao Ritian attract and indoctrinate followers. 16 64

Chao Ritian built his power through demonic cultivation, bloodline control, and a cadre of adopted sons and Heavenly Generals. A drop of his King's Blood could strengthen trusted subordinates, control their lives, and place a bloodline aura lock on enemies. 17

Personality

King Chaotian is ambitious, ruthless, and highly pragmatic. He seeks capable martial artists for the Hantian Army, initially attempting to recruit Zhou Qiming rather than immediately pursuing vengeance for Qiu Yun's death. 16

He considers prodigies dangerous if left alive and personally intervenes when Zhou Qiming proves far stronger than expected. Yet he is not bound by pride: after being pressured in battle, he offers Zhou Qiming the Hantian Army's Top Seat, and when defeat becomes likely, he abandons the duel and flees. 111 114

His pragmatism has brutal limits. He uses his own Deer Heavenly General as a decoy during his escape and later sacrifices himself through forbidden demonic means in an attempt to destroy Zhou Qiming. 115 121

Hantian Army Threat

King Chaotian is introduced as the feared leader of the Hantian Army, whose rebel forces dominate multiple counties. His adopted son Chao Yun is killed by Zhou Qiming, and the resulting King's Blood mark turns Zhou Qiming into a target of the Hantian Army. 16 17

Conflict with the Heavenly Saber

As Zhou Qiming kills Chao Ritian's Heavenly Generals and disrupts his plans around Luoshan City, King Chaotian personally enters the conflict. He confronts Zhou Qiming after the latter crushes Tiger, Bear, and Deer Heavenly Generals. 95 97 110

Their first major battle showcases King Chaotian's Five Beasts Heavenly Demonic Art, Mysterious Weapon armor, and Sky-Shaking Hammer. Although he is pushed into using his full arsenal, he attempts to recruit Zhou Qiming before fleeing when he judges continued battle to be fatal. 111 112 113 114

Final Duel and Death

King Chaotian returns to Luoshan County and issues Zhou Qiming a formal challenge at the Luoshui River. Before Zhou arrives, he overwhelms Huang Xin and his brother and threatens to massacre the county town. 118 119

During their final duel, he burns his true essence and origin to reach temporary perfect-stage Qi Profound strength. Zhou Qiming still suppresses him with Saber Intent, swordsmanship, and multiple true meanings. 120 121

Facing defeat, Chao Ritian activates the Five Demons True Meaning and sacrifices himself to create the Body of Five Demons. Zhou Qiming destroys the demonized King Chaotian with a Limit Breaking strike empowered by Crimson Sun Qi, ending the Hantian Army's reign over Luoshan County. 121 122
