The First Holy War generally referred to the War of the Saints that took place a thousand years ago—the war in which four saints led the Black Iron People in resisting the brutal rule of the Dark Dragon. It was a glorious and sacred war praised in countless songs.
The Second Holy War began at the end of the Year of Chaos. It was a holy war launched by the Fanzan people, the Cruzian people, and the Wind Spirits to open up the vast wilderness and Black Forest between the three nations. It was the era of the Pioneer Knights. The magnificent elegy of the wilderness continued until after the founding of Eluin. After that, the territories of the Three Great Empires basically took shape, and only a narrow, dark forest remained between the nations as a buffer zone. This war was equally magnificent, lasting nearly two centuries, and it was from this that the name "holy war" arose.
