Jade Spring Mountain
Golden Cloud Cave
A tall, slender middle-aged Daoist, dressed in a white Daoist robe and with his hair tied in a topknot, suddenly opened his eyes. Where his gaze landed, the void crackled with electricity, and space trembled.
True Lord Yuding, a disciple of a Saint, one of the Twelve Golden Immortals of the Heavenly Origin Sect, and the master of Yang Jian.
"Strange, strange, how could I have any karma with Yin Shang?"
True Lord Yuding counted on his fingers, but saw only a chaotic heavenly secret, as if obscured by a layer of mist, making it like looking at flowers in fog, indistinct. This made him even more puzzled:
"I am a disciple of a Saint, protected by my Master. Although the great tribulation is approaching, I don't think anyone would scheme against me... Dammit! Yang Jian!"
A white light shot up into the sky, tearing through space, heading towards the East Sea at extreme speed. In True Lord Yuding's cave dwelling, only wisps of smoke curled upwards, and there was no sign of anyone.
"Disciple, oh disciple, Heaven intends to prosper Zhou and overthrow Shang. You must not be foolish for a moment and become a traitor to the sect. Otherwise, otherwise... alas!"
East Sea Valley
Yang Jian looked at his hands, disbelief mixed with ecstasy. An endless, vast power surged through his entire body, making him feel as if he were floating on clouds, ethereal and unable to extricate himself.
"The fifth level of the Eight-Nine Arcane Arts. Without using magic power, my brute strength alone can rival a Golden Immortal. The small mountain from before, I can now lift it with ease. I am only one level away from reaching the sixth level, which Master said would allow me to find the Divine Axe of Yu the Great and split Peach Mountain to save my mother!"
A moment later, Yang Jian calmed his mind and suppressed his aura. After getting used to controlling his own power, he looked at Di Xin, his expression complex.
"Yang Jian thanks the Great King for his guidance. However, Yang Jian's birth mother is currently crushed beneath Peach Mountain, suffering greatly. Yang Jian still needs to cultivate diligently to rescue her. If Yang Jian is still alive after splitting the mountain to save his mother, he will definitely go to Chaoge to serve the Great King."
"So you are the son of Yao Ji, the eldest princess of the Heavenly Court."
Di Xin "suddenly realized," released the Howling Celestial Dog, which was half-dead from Yang Jian's magic power, and sat back down at the table.
"The Great King knows about Yang Jian's affairs?"
Yang Jian asked hurriedly, surprised.
Di Xin calmly poured himself a cup of wine, pushing everything onto the Kongtong Seal again.
"You may not know this, but I have been acknowledged by the Three Sovereigns of ancient times and bestowed the Human Race's supreme treasure, the Kongtong Seal. Within the Kongtong Seal, the Three Sovereigns recorded a large number of secret histories of the Great Desolation.
The most recent event was the eldest princess of the Heavenly Court, Yao Ji, descending to the mortal realm to marry a human. She was ruthlessly suppressed by the Jade Emperor Haotian to uphold the majesty of the heavenly laws.
I originally thought you had the bloodline of a human and a witch, but I didn't expect you to be human and divine, and so noble. It seems I've struck gold."
Di Xin paused after speaking, feigning deep thought for a moment before speaking again.
"In that case, Yang Jian, you should cultivate here with peace of mind. When your divine abilities are accomplished, come to Chaoge to find me. I will give you a great gift then, to help you split the mountain and save your mother, fulfilling your filial piety."
"This, the Great King's kindness, Yang Jian..."
"A man of integrity needs no feminine pretense. Yang Jian, I will wait for you in Chaoge City."
Di Xin laughed heartily, transformed into a golden light, and soared into the sky, flying west.
"This favor, alas!"
Yang Jian watched Di Xin leave, a myriad of emotions surging in his heart. Since he had fled since childhood, no one except his Master had treated Yang Jian like this.
"Howling Celestial Dog, it seems we can't die easily."
"Woof woof"
On the other side, Di Xin, in the form of golden light, flew west but did not return to Chentang Pass. Instead, he found a small island by the shore and wandered there for several days before returning to Chentang Pass.
On the city walls of Chentang Pass, Li Jing stood clad in armor, a treasure sword in his hand. Behind him, an ancient longbow lay quietly on a stone platform.
Seeing a golden light flying from the east, Li Jing trembled with excitement, knelt on one knee, and said with righteous indignation:
"Li Jing welcomes my King back!"
"Bang!"
The golden light suddenly crashed onto the city wall, smashing a pit about ten feet in diameter into the hard bluestone. As the golden light dissipated, Di Xin stepped out, his form extremely ethereal, as if he might scatter with the wind at any moment.
"Get up."
"My King, you?"
Li Jing rose to help him but was stopped by Di Xin's wave of his hand.
"It's nothing. I've clarified the matter in the East Sea. It was the Dragon Clan causing trouble behind the scenes (East Sea Dragon Palace: ???). Li Jing, from today onwards, your burden will be even heavier."
"Your subject will train the soldiers daily, sleep with his spear at the ready, and always be prepared to fight for my Yin Shang!"
There have been many generals who led from the front, but how many monarchs have led from the front?
Li Jing was completely subdued by Di Xin's imposing aura. If Di Xin had the legendary system, it would be easy to see "Loyalty +1" popping up above Li Jing's head at this moment.
"Then I will entrust this matter to you."
Di Xin's voice became slightly louder. He reached out, took the Human Seed Bag from his waist, took out an incredibly vibrant feather, and handed it to Li Jing.
"If a critical moment arrives, use your magic power to ignite this feather, and reinforcements will surely arrive."
"Thank you, Great King, for your grace. Your subject will defend Chentang Pass to the death. As long as the pass stands, I stand; if the pass falls, I fall!"
Li Jing took the feather with both hands and was about to bow again, but Di Xin stopped him.
"I feel guilty!"
Di Xin's eyes were moist as he gazed at the East Sea, forcing the spiritual energy from his clone into tears just to finish the act.
He had racked his brain to trick Li Jing for one reason:
To blind everyone and have Li Jing secretly train troops for him at Chentang Pass, preparing for a future great war.
To be crowned king with the support of eight hundred lords, to pacify the four directions and centralize power as emperor, or to take it a step further, gather the faith of the Human Race in the Great Desolation, gain the recognition of billions of people, and reclaim the position of Human Emperor!
One who does not plan for the whole cannot plan for a region; one who does not plan for eternity cannot plan for a moment.
Since you've transmigrated, why not have bigger ambitions? What are you transmigrating for?
"Li Jing, I recall your wife's surname is Yin, a collateral branch of the Yin Shang royal family. Since she is now six months pregnant, let her bring the two children to Chaoge to rest and await the birth."
"Your subject thanks the Great King!"
Li Jing clenched his fists and bowed in the air. He turned and walked away, projecting an aura of righteous indignation and readiness to die.
"Did I trick him too harshly? Or did he misunderstand me?"
Di Xin stroked his chin, his guilt increasing by a tiny bit.
He had only wanted to take Jin Zha, Mu Zha, and the yet-to-be-born Nezha with him, to prevent the three powerful figures from the Heavenly Origin Sect from snatching them away.
However, from Li Jing's perspective, it did seem like he was indirectly alleviating his worries and preserving his lineage.
Well, it could also be understood as indirectly delivering his death notice to Li Jing.
Tsk, tsk, so you see, one shouldn't let their imagination run wild, or they might misinterpret things.
Fortunately, Yang Jian's strength had greatly increased, and the movements from his cultivation were much larger. This provided Li Jing with even greater pressure. Coupled with the "weakness makeup" he had deliberately applied to deceive him, the result he desired was perfectly achieved.
After Li Jing returned home to settle his affairs, Di Xin used the Kongtong Seal to conceal their tracks and stealthily headed towards Chaoge
