Vast pressure swept across the entire void. The long-silent Great Dao suddenly descended, finally rousing Xuanxiao from his focused contemplation.

He looked up at the Eye of the Great Dao hanging high in the void, genuine delight and excitement surging in his eyes.

He had not seen the Great Dao manifest in ages. Even Pangu seemed to have fallen into a deep sleep. No matter how Xuanxiao called for him, he gave no sign of his presence.

At his side, Yuan Chen and Xi Yao heard him and froze. Their pupils contracted as they stared at Xuanxiao as though he were a hopeless madman.

At that thought, both instinctively retreated several steps, putting as much distance between themselves and Xuanxiao as they could. They feared that if the supreme Great Dao flew into a rage, it might punish them without distinguishing the guilty from the innocent.

Yet after they held their breath and waited for a long while, the Eye of the Great Dao remained silent overhead. It showed no sign of anger or punishment.

The strange sight left Yuan Chen and Xi Yao utterly bewildered.

Yuan Chen stared up at the clear eye in the void and muttered without realizing it, disbelief filling his voice. "Impossible... Absolutely impossible! I must be seeing things!"
