Background
Wei Wu served as a Corpse Burning Official under the Flying Fish Guard and was Tu Baishou's sole disciple among a highly competitive younger generation. He possessed strong family backing, considerable natural talent, and the potential to become a future Flying Fish Guard commander. 57 66 307
His hostility toward Qin He began early. Wei Wu considered Qin He insolent and suspicious, especially after Qin repeatedly became entangled in incidents involving the mysterious Great Immortal Green Ox. When someone used Wei Wu's face while committing crimes at Xianyun Temple, he became determined to expose Qin He and identify Green Ox. 66 69 162 192
Wei Wu initially rejected Great Immortal Green Ox's teachings outright, even as soldiers and fellow Corpse Burning Hall personnel gained strength through worship. His pride gradually gave way to temptation; he secretly worshipped Green Ox, endured receiving humiliating teachings such as Postpartum Care for Sows, and struggled to reconcile his desire for power with his resentment. 246 273 276 306
Qin He later cured Wei Wu's hemorrhoidal fistula with a Golden Wound Pill, reshaped his face with the Return My Beauty Fist, and imparted martial arts, cultivation methods, and combat knowledge. The treatment transformed both Wei Wu's appearance and fighting ability. 350 353
Wei Wu survived a rare nine-bolt Heavenly Tribulation while breaking into External Force. The ordeal left him severely injured, but his Self-Healing Technique restored him while his strength surged beyond the limits of inner-force cultivation. 470 471
Appearance
Wei Wu was originally described as having a long, horse-like face, indistinct bone structure, and facial blemishes. Qin He's Return My Beauty Fist reshaped his features into a markedly more refined appearance. 350
- Elegant, jade-like bearing with sword-like brows and sharply defined features after his transformation. 350 370
- Often wears a fitted Flying Fish Robe; later wore the pale-yellow uniform of a Flying Fish Guard Commander. 370 576
- Became known for an unconsciously raised Orchid Finger, earning him the martial-world nickname Orchid General. 566
- His concern for appearance is pronounced; after emerging blackened and disheveled from a furnace, he fled in embarrassment. 870
- In battle, his body can be covered in azure secret runes. 496
Personality
Wei Wu is proud, short-tempered, and intensely sensitive to humiliation. He reacts badly to mockery, holds grudges, and is prone to destructive outbursts when his dignity is threatened. His long resistance to Great Immortal Green Ox stemmed as much from wounded pride as disbelief. 246 276 306
Despite his stubbornness, he is ambitious and adaptable. He eventually accepted that his relationship with Great Immortal Green Ox was transactional, using the benefits he received to pursue greater authority, cultivate stronger forces, and establish temples. 471 800 814
He is also image-conscious, finicky about cleanliness, and capable of calculated manipulation. During the westward journey, he exploited Qian Wuliang's gambling habit and You Wenqu's desire to regain his lost root to keep both men attached to his plans. 856 881 890
