Background / History
Qin He first establishes communication with Big Turtle through the Beast Speech Technique after feeding him, creating a “raising” relationship that prevents Qin He from simply eating him. Big Turtle identifies himself as the son of Ao Jiao, the Great King Turtle. 73
After Big Turtle demonstrates his long-range neck strike, Qin He names him Wang Tie Zhu. Wang objects to the name, but Qin He threatens to rename him “Wang Bacai,” settling the matter. 94 He later takes human form and serves publicly as Qin He’s cook, although his turtle shell remains on his back and is generally mistaken for a hunchback. 287 306
Wang Tie Zhu becomes a regular assistant at Corpse Burning Room No. 7. When Qin He becomes unresponsive after an unexplained incident, Wang completes a cremation using ordinary fire and fears that his master has lost his soul. 368
After becoming separated from Qin He in the Abyss World, Wang and Lamborghini search Lin'an City for over half a year. Wang earns the Liang Family’s favor by suppressing a demonic wolf remnant soul with the beginner-level Spirit Crossing Sutra, then finally reunites with Qin He near the Demon Suppression Division. 700 713
As Qin He’s foremost disciple, Wang repeatedly competes with Wei Wu for favor and status. This insecurity drives him to develop corpse dismantling and purification skills, while his role later expands into combat operations against the Heaven Punishing Bureau and participation in the western expedition. 743 787 857 1133
Appearance
Wang Tie Zhu usually appears as a hunchback youth in human form. His unchanged turtle shell creates the hump on his back, while his eyes are repeatedly described as small, bean-like eyes. 306 370
- Retains a turtle shell after taking human form; the shell is mistaken for a hunchback. 306
- Has secret patterns across his body that become visible when he releases power. 136
- Can extend his neck over great distances. 94
- Begins developing dragon horns as his bloodline changes. 562
- Is recognized as a turtle demon despite his human disguise. 705
Personality
Wang Tie Zhu is loyal, obedient, and highly attentive to Qin He’s preferences. He readily performs unpleasant tasks assigned by his master, including corpse work and surgery, even when visibly disgusted. 790 811
He is also cautious to the point of cowardice when confronting overwhelming threats. Lamborghini can provoke him into acting, however, particularly by challenging his dignity as a Turtle Immortal. 405 708 Once committed, Wang can be ruthless toward enemies and fiercely protective of turtle-kind; he kills a cultivator for insulting turtles. 451
His strongest recurring insecurity is his position as Qin He’s foremost disciple. He becomes jealous when Wei Wu brings valuable corpses, builds temples, or displays superior combat strength, often attempting to undermine Wei Wu’s contributions. 743 862 921
