Background / History

Ye Fan was an Earthling with a strong interest in ancient texts and a talent for finance and futures. He became friends with Xu Yue after meeting him at a teahouse; their discussions of ancient knowledge and the Dao impressed Ye Fan despite Xu Yue’s erratic, chuunibyou behavior. Before entering the cultivation world, Ye Fan had already earned enough to drive a Mercedes-Benz, though he generally remained low-key about his success 2281 2282.

During a class reunion trip to Mount Tai, Ye Fan was present when the Nine Dragons Pulling Coffin descended. He and numerous classmates were transported away from Earth, beginning his journey into cultivation 2282 2283.

Lingxu Grotto-Heaven selected Ye Fan, Pang Bo, and Xu Yue as cultivation prospects. Although Ye Fan’s Sacred Body initially required an extreme quantity of resources just to open his Sea of Suffering, its physical potential soon became apparent: he could outperform Pang Bo at the same realm and rapidly digest the residual medicinal power of Saint Fruits 2291 2294 2306.

He repays kindness and remembers wrongs. Jiang Taixu’s selfless instruction and protection left a lasting impression on him, while Jiang Yichen’s treachery drove Ye Fan to vow revenge 2310 2362.
