Grandmaster Awakened, Third Update
"Teacher!"
Hearing the cough, Tang San reacted instantly.
However, Grandmaster had not fully awakened. He seemed to be in a deeply dazed state.
"Teacher should be regaining his senses now. Feng Ge, help me find some Qinglan Grass."
Tang San spoke to Qin Feng.
Teacher was currently in the process of regaining his senses. Simply put, when a person went from a deep coma to waking up, there was still a brief transitional period.
This transitional period was called regaining one's senses.
Though it was only a brief transition, it determined whether the person could truly wake up.
Some people had powerful subconscious minds. During this period, they could easily be controlled by their subconscious, ultimately leading to mental collapse and even death.
Therefore, Teacher needed care more than ever right now.
Though Feng Ge could take care of him as well, Tang San was still the more attentive one.
So having Feng Ge search for Qinglan Grass was the most suitable choice.
Qinglan Grass was a medicinal herb that calmed the mind and nourished the spirit. As long as it was crushed into juice, dripped into the mouth, and applied to the forehead, one could safely get through this period of regaining one's senses.
This was a secret method of the Tang Sect that was never passed on to outsiders.
"Xiao Feng, why didn't you listen to my advice? Why did you insist on absorbing that Thousand-Year Spirit Ring?!"
Grandmaster suddenly sat up and slapped Tang San beside him, then raised his hand as if preparing to pummel him again.
Fortunately, Tang San had been prepared and narrowly avoided disaster.
But this also showed, from another angle, that Teacher wanted to hit Feng Ge.
Because Feng Ge had refused to listen and insisted on absorbing that Thousand-Year Spirit Ring.
The crucial point was that, in Teacher's eyes, absorbing a Thousand-Year Spirit Ring was certain death. Yet Feng Ge must have forcibly absorbed it at the time, leaving Teacher helpless.
Though Teacher had suppressed himself back then, now that he was regaining his senses, his subconscious was acting up.
The subconscious was like a demon hidden within the human body.
The things people did not dare to do, their subconscious would do for them.
The clearest example was dreams. Dreams were a manifestation of an active subconscious.
That was why people often dreamed of things they dared to think about but never dared to do in reality.
In other words, Teacher was basically sleepwalking right now.
"What's wrong with Grandmaster?"
Qin Feng ran back and asked with a puzzled look in his eyes.
"Feng Ge, if I told you Teacher is beating you up right now, would you believe me?"
Tang San restrained Grandmaster's limbs, but Grandmaster was still flailing wildly, occasionally throwing punches as if venting his dissatisfaction at someone.
"That shouldn't be possible, right?"
Qin Feng looked wryly at Tang San and Grandmaster, who seemed to be sleepwalking.
"Feng Ge, where's the Qinglan Grass I asked you to bring?"
Now was not the time to explain. They needed to calm Teacher down first.
"Right here."
Qin Feng held out a large handful.
This stuff could be found almost anywhere along the riverbank, so Qin Feng naturally had no reason to be stingy with it.
"Feng Ge, I'll have to trouble you to crush this into a paste. It would be best to do it in this bowl."
Tang San took another bowl out of his Soul Tool.
"Alright."
Qin Feng had nothing to refuse, so he made a small wooden pestle on the spot and crushed the Qinglan Grass.
They poured the green juice down Grandmaster's throat and smeared the remaining pulp over his head.
After only a minute or two, Grandmaster quietly calmed down.
"Alright, we can finally eat."
With the Qinglan Grass, Tang San could finally rest easy.
The two of them each took a bowl and began eating breakfast.
After they finished, they fed Grandmaster a little as well.
Of course, it was almost entirely soup.
He could not eat anything else.
In the blink of an eye, three days passed.
Over those three days, since Qin Feng and Tang San had both returned to normal, their meals improved by several levels.
They had meat almost every night.
Grandmaster benefited as well and got to drink some meat soup.
He had been unconscious for so many days. Though he was a Soul Grandmaster, he still could not go without food. How could his stomach remain completely empty?
"Today's my turn to hunt. Feng Ge, keep a close eye on Teacher."
Xiao San seemed somewhat worried as he spoke to Qin Feng.
After spending these past few days together, Tang San had discovered that Feng Ge was fine at fighting and treating injuries, but when it came to taking care of people... forget it.
"Don't worry. Nothing will happen while I'm here."
Qin Feng answered.
Then he leisurely lay down on the grass, crossed one leg over the other, and began singing.
Who knew how much time passed before Qin Feng vaguely felt someone kicking him? He jolted awake in an instant!
He had somehow fallen asleep while lying there.
"Xiao Feng, I told you not to absorb a Thousand-Year Spirit Ring. Now look what happened!"
Qin Feng saw a cold, stern face staring at him.
"G-Grandmaster, you're awake?"
Seeing that Grandmaster had awakened, Qin Feng was briefly surprised. But his surprise quickly turned to excitement. Since Grandmaster was awake, they could leave and no longer had to stay in this damned place.
They had been here for so long that they were sick of everything.
"You're still smiling? It would have been enough if I died, but you insisted on dying with me, leaving Xiao San all alone!"
Grandmaster spoke with deep remorse. He had failed Xiao San, and he had failed Tang Hao even more!
Earlier, after being poisoned so severely, he had known he would not survive.
He had wanted these two children to live, but Qin Feng had stubbornly refused to yield and insisted on absorbing the Thousand-Year Spirit Ring. Now they were both finished.
"Grandmaster, I think you must have misunderstood something. Actually, you're not dead, and neither am I—"
Qin Feng tried to explain.
But Grandmaster waved his sleeve. No matter what Qin Feng said, he was convinced of one thing: he was dead, and Qin Feng was dead too!
"Teacher, you're awake!!"
Just as Qin Feng was about to give up struggling, a clear voice rang out in the distance.
It was Tang San's voice.
He had several wild rabbits slung over his back.
During this time, the meat they most enjoyed eating was still wild rabbit. It was fresh and delicious.
"X-Xiao San?!"
Grandmaster was utterly astonished when he saw Tang San arrive.
Could his theory have been wrong? Had the limit for a Spirit Master's first Spirit Ring been off, and Xiao San had been brought down as well?
But he had researched those figures for most of his life. There should have been no way they were wrong!
"Teacher, why are you looking at me like that?"
Tang San vaguely sensed that Grandmaster's gaze was somewhat strange.
"Xiao San, why are you dead too?"
Grandmaster looked at Tang San in confusion.
Tang San looked at Qin Feng.
Qin Feng simply rolled his eyes.
"I can't argue with your teacher. Explain to him properly why we're dead."
Qin Feng shrugged helplessly.
No matter what he had said just now, Grandmaster had refused to believe him. What else could he do?
Grandmaster was Xiao San's teacher, so Xiao San could convince him.
"Uh, Teacher, we're not dead."
After learning what had happened, Tang San explained with slight helplessness.
"How is that possible? I was poisoned with Black Mandala Snake Venom. Even Spirit Hall's methods probably couldn't save me."
Grandmaster spoke resolutely.
