Background

Caesar was released from the Moon Laboratory as a feral, nearly speechless boy and was bullied on the island until Shirley rescued him. She cared for him, taught him language and literacy, and gave him what others regarded as his first humanity. His exceptional intelligence, combat potential, and War Divinity soon made him the strongest pillar of Shirley's territory. 394

After Adam conquered Shirley's territory, Caesar and Shirley became his subordinates. They rejected Adam's vision of treating Sin Prison Island as their permanent homeland; Shirley instead wanted to leave the island.
