It was four in the afternoon.
District 4, Flower Capital Pariel—the Earl Baptiste estate.
Christina leaned somewhat bored against the sofa in the Reception Room, holding a book while the breeze occasionally turned a page or two.
"Ugh."
She yawned without much regard for a young lady's decorum, then drowsily shook her head.
This was one advantage of being at home: she could behave as casually as she liked, and her family would not really criticize her. After all, she had been taught since childhood that as the eldest daughter of the Earl Baptiste family, she was supposed to live willfully.
Aside from going out after lunch to stroll around the shopping district on Crystal Orchid Avenue, she had returned home once the weather had cooled. Now sleepiness was welling up inside her.
"Why hasn't he come yet?"
She glanced at the clock and murmured.
Every day at three-thirty in the afternoon, the estate's butler, Luo Qi, taught the earl's son Kyle. Class ended at four.
By rights, the brown-haired, green-eyed butler should have already walked solemnly down the corridor and would very likely pass through the Reception Room on the first floor, which connected the stairs and hallway.
Just thinking about it made Christina's eyelids feel ready to close.
Maybe I should take a nap first.
The afternoon sun in the courtyard of Earl Baptiste's estate had turned a somewhat deeper Golden Orange. Accompanied by a wisp of floral fragrance, it made the light and shadows in the reception hall on the first floor seem restless and dreamy.
Just then, Christina noticed a figure passing the Reception Room.
"Luo Qi, come here."
She hurriedly sat up straight, rallied her spirits, and waved to call him over.
"Miss, what can I do for you?"
