Jiang Ying began cultivating at age three. True Lord Buyi subjected her to increasingly brutal training: she fought Qi Refining cultivators at five and, at ten, was confined with hungry Foundation Establishment wolves until she killed every one of them. Her upbringing made her formidable, but also left her fearful of Buyi and uneasy with the killing expected of her. 328 334 385

She inherited the Body Refining Canon and the Body Refining Scripture. Her defining trait is the Supreme Physique, described as the apex among physiques centered on overwhelming bodily strength. 325

Jiang Ying enters the competition as a physically dominant but relatively unrefined combatant. She battles Lou Shuyue to a standstill before prevailing through her superior physique, then becomes the competition's champion. 328 330

Dragon Palace Expedition

During the Dragon Palace operation, Jiang Ying initially slips away from battle to hide from True Lord Buyi and avoid further killing. Du En discovers her, recruits her to dismantle ruins and gather spiritual materials, and gradually gains her trust by offering a path toward the Resolution faction. 334

She later fights beside Du En and Nangong Sheng, helping relieve the siege around Nangong and overwhelming Xiulin Immortal Sect puppet cultivators. 336

Defection from True Lord Buyi

With Du En acting as mediator, Jiang Ying seeks protection from Meng Changqing and the Resolution faction. True Lord Buyi agrees to the arrangement because Jiang Ying's stagnation no longer meets his expectations, while Meng Changqing sees her as a rare talent worth supporting. 343

Physique Crisis and Soul Transformation

Jiang Ying is critically wounded while attacking the Great Flood Dragon and is placed in an ice coffin. In Spirit Spring Village, she is revealed to be the source of the Fluorite Sickness; the physician uses her condition to test antidote variants. 396 397 415

Jiang Ying returns to assist Du En in the Southern Land, warns him of True Lord Buyi's independent actions, and remains wary of Mojiu City's unsettling cultivation infrastructure. 581
