The weather was too hot, so everyone didn't sit at the circular table. Instead, they all brought stools and sat under the trees.
The Ferryman, who was serious and had previously suspected Yimo, was deep in thought and didn't step forward. Instead, Old Du Liu, the oldest, stood up and said, "Little brother Siba Jungler, there are 14 thatched huts here. The layout and contents inside are exactly the same. I can't see any difference."
"It's simple, and I have no problem with it. I don't know if you young people can get used to it."
"There are nameplates at the entrance of each thatched hut. It seems who lives where has already been arranged, so there's no need to argue or fight over it."
"There haven't been many discoveries."
Upon hearing this, Yimo thought for a moment and asked, "There are 12 of us in total. Do the extra two rooms have nameplates?"
"Are the items inside different from the other thatched huts?"
"Also, I just went into one of the wooden houses, and it contained dangerous items like matches. Did you guys steal any?"
Old Du Liu quickly waved his hands upon hearing this, "How could we take them? With four people in a group, if someone made a move, we would definitely see it."
"It's the same as the other rooms, no difference."
"Oh, right, there are also four outhouses in the four corners, and they're quite clean."
After confirming the information, Yimo looked at the second group.
Conan adjusted his glasses and said, "North of the village, there's a paddy field and a vegetable patch, which are more than enough for our food."
"To the south, there's a small hill. True Martial Emperor and I went up, and we didn't find anything on the hill." He then pointed at the Ordinary Girl Village Chief and Supreme One, "Those two didn't go, so it has nothing to do with us."
"Oh, right, by the vegetable patch, if you walk along the hill towards the back, there's a slightly larger building."
"It's a ancestral hall, filled with memorial tablets. It looks quite eerie."
"Heh, I wanted to find some clues, but before I could look closely, these few behind me persuaded me to leave."
"I wonder if they had ulterior motives."
"Behind the ancestral hall, there's a rather large lake. The lakeside is lined with trees, and we didn't explore inside."
"When looking down from the hill, on the other side of the forest from the lake, there's a cemetery."
"We hadn't had time to go there yet when we encountered the first group and returned together."
After Conan finished speaking, his face showed some weariness, as if he was very displeased with this grouping.
The Ordinary Girl Village Chief was very gloomy and sharp-tongued. Supreme One, although embarrassed before, was just a scoundrel and didn't listen to him.
True Martial Emperor, however, was very good. Unfortunately, Conan always felt like the other person was deliberately taking care of him, making him feel like a little brother!
How to put it?
He was a veteran player of this game, and also the president of the board game club!
Sigh... it was just frustrating.
Then, he was also sizing up Yimo, trying to find a flaw that would prove he wasn't the Hunter.
Supreme One then stepped forward and argued defensively, "You little glasses, don't just talk nonsense!"
"Who knows what you and that big guy did on the hill?"
"Brother Siba Jungler, this little glasses guy doesn't look like a good person. He's always looking down, who knows what he's thinking. He might be plotting who to kill tonight!"
"And he's super interested in that ancestral hall!"
Conan adjusted his glasses and said, "The more places are like this, the more likely they are to hide clues. Perhaps they hide information about who the wolf is!"
"If you're so scared, are you the wolf?"
Although Supreme One was afraid of Yimo, he wasn't afraid of Conan, and immediately retorted, "Nonsense! I'm a good person, don't try to frame me!"
Then, he explained to Yimo, "Oh right, big brother, the reason I didn't go up was because I saw this freckled girl wasn't going, and I was afraid she might do something, so I was supervising her!"
The Ordinary Girl glanced at Supreme One but didn't respond.
Yimo knew full well that Supreme One was definitely just being lazy and didn't want to climb the mountain. He didn't intend to dwell on it and waved his hand, "Alright, alright, I understand."
"Let's leave it at that. It's safe today anyway, and there's still plenty of time this afternoon. In the afternoon, you can act freely according to your groups."
"And then..."
Just as Yimo was about to state the next arrangement, he was interrupted by the Ferryman.
"Siba Jungler, you haven't said what discoveries your group made yet."
Upon hearing this, Yimo didn't hide anything and truthfully said, "We can't leave the village. The system is blocking us. There are system-refreshed food items at the west village entrance gate. If you're hungry, you can go eat there."
"There's a high probability that it will refresh again tomorrow, so there's no need to specifically go collect vegetables to cook."
Everyone nodded upon hearing this, seemingly not very interested in food.
After all, the game hadn't started for too long, and coupled with the anxiety of being in a death game, they didn't have much appetite.
Only True Martial Emperor was stunned upon hearing this and ran towards the entrance.
"Hey, big guy, what are you doing!" Before Yimo could speak, Supreme One called out to him.
Supreme One replied without looking back, "This damn game can be played, but we still have to eat!"
"I'm starving!"
"Don't worry, I'll bring yours too!"
Supreme One looked at him with disdain. "Hmph, such a simple-minded and strong-limbed fellow, a good-for-nothing? Still in the mood to eat."
"In this heat!"
Then Yimo poked him with a wooden stick, "You go too, don't let him go alone."
"Right, three bamboo baskets, help him carry a bucket!"
Supreme One was stunned by the request and cried, "Oh! My heavens!"
Just as he was about to leave, the Ferryman stopped him. "Don't let him go, I'll do it!"
The Ferryman's thinking was simple: he found Supreme One too dirty.
Yimo didn't refuse and nodded.
Supreme One, however, spread his hands innocently. "Ha... Big brother, you saw, it's not that I didn't want to go!"
"Hahaha..."
And so, True Martial Emperor and the Ferryman placed the food under the large banyan tree. The Ferryman then touched his nose and said, "Siba Jungler, you were saying something just now, please continue."
"I hope you can offer some substantive suggestions so I know you're worthy of being the Village Chief."
Yimo waved his hand dismissively. "What's the point? Finding out who the wolf is?"
Ferryman: "That would be best."
Yimo shook his head. "The reason I became this Village Chief isn't because I'm smart, or an old player, or have good logical thinking."
As Yimo spoke, he looked at Conan and the Ferryman respectively, then stated matter-of-factly, "It's because I'm the Hunter, and I have a gun, and you don't."
"I'm a good person, you all know that, that's why I'm the Village Chief."
"Who is the wolf?"
"Sorry, I don't know."
"And I don't think I can see it that clearly."
"But it's okay, everyone's eyes are sharp."
"You've all been interacting for two hours now, right?"
"Whoever has any suspicious or strange behavior, you must have noticed."
"So, next, I'll find a room and chat with everyone individually, one by one."
"Whoever seems most like a wolf, whoever is most suspicious, just say it!"
"Of course, if someone jumps out and says they're the wolf, that would be even better!"
"Heh, everyone, let's have a confession session!"
Yimo stood up and looked at the somewhat bewildered crowd. He covered his left eye with his left hand, looking a bit chuunibyou, like a great demon king who had everything under control.
This silenced most of them.
The Ordinary Girl, however, the Village Chief, rarely looked up. She glanced at him, then lowered her head again, muttering, "An idiot?"
