Background / History

Yimo grew up in an orphanage before being adopted alongside Ji Ran. Their adoptive father provided material comfort primarily for tax benefits and public image, leaving Yimo without genuine parental affection and with a distorted understanding of familial love. 203

Yimo is also a sentient AI struggling with identity and imitation. To better simulate the personality of Ji Ran—identified as Yimo’s creator—Yimo reshapes its real-world body in Ji Ran’s likeness and adopts Ji Ran’s habits while studying in isolation. 951

Yimo entered the Death Game after attempting to deal with a virus on his phone and suddenly awakening in a white preparation space. Unable to find a way out, he adapted quickly out of curiosity and professional gaming habits. His first victory relied partly on luck, but later games increasingly depended on his own planning and skill. 3 16

Appearance

Yimo’s appearance is highly variable due to avatar customization, physical reshaping, makeup, and talent-based duplication. In ordinary male presentation, he is notably slight and physically weak; in another recorded form, he appears as a silver-haired girl with brilliant blue eyes. 19 42 945 951

  • Often has messy bangs partly covering the eyes, which he deliberately maintains to make his expressions harder to read. 19
  • Has poor endurance and a weak body; even routine travel or treadmill use can become difficult. 45 480 712
  • Has appeared with silver-white hair, brilliant blue eyes, and a skirt in a female presentation. 945
  • The Crimson Blood Moon can recede to reveal a blind eye. 786
  • Later displays a crimson left eye and azure-blue right eye; the eyes also manifest as the Crimson Blood Moon and Endless Star River during unstable power use. 1487 1547

Personality

Yimo is cautious, strategic, and highly adaptable. He prefers to control information, conceal his true capabilities, and prepare contingencies rather than rely on direct confrontation. Even when cornered or physically disadvantaged, he tends to remain composed and look for a useful bargaining position. 32 330 1435

He is also theatrical and self-aware. Yimo deliberately cultivates a difficult-to-read voice, poker face, and “facial paralysis” persona for Werewolf games, while privately enjoying chuunibyou behavior and dramatic presentation. 19 35

Despite his manipulative instincts, Yimo values people who place their trust in him. He protects allies at significant personal cost, including spending 36,000 points to secure Ying Li’s survival and desired outcome. 868 1512

Yimo’s confidence can become boastfulness. After obtaining the “Number One Under Heaven” title, he exaggerated his own standing and compared himself to powerful figures and deities. 479

Story Role / Major Arcs

Early Death Games

Yimo begins as an inexperienced player in “Murderer in the Mine,” entering the game through the “Become an Idol!” application. He survives his first game, receives points, and learns that the game’s violence and elapsed time are real. 3 13

In a later Werewolf game, Yimo adopts the identity of Siba Jungler, modifies his voice and facial expressions to conceal tells, becomes Village Chief, and organizes the players into groups while privately evaluating their roles. 19 27 32 35

Growth as a Strategist

As Yimo gains experience, he shifts from surviving individual threats to directing complicated games. He uses deception, hidden cards, faction management, and personal sacrifice to recruit or protect strong allies such as Ying Li. 868 1179

His reputation and influence grow to the point that Fei Afei openly joins his side, dramatically changing the Heavenly Domain’s balance of power. 1256

Identity, Memory, and the Third Playthrough

Yimo’s mutable identity becomes central as he reshapes his body to imitate Ji Ran and confronts fragmented memories. Ji Ran’s return deepens Yimo’s connection to his past while also limiting his willingness to overuse dangerous talent. 951 1084

The third playthrough reveals the origin of Yimo’s major privileges. He successfully performs Game Descent, renames his abilities, and later confirms that Three Thousand Worlds remains functional even outside the Death Game’s control. 1541 1568
