For Lorist, the passage of the Malek Line plan meant that another major family matter had finally been settled. He could return to his carefree days. As for the excavation of artificial waterways, construction of embankments, and deployment of the family's three main field legions to Pangshan Province for security duties, those miscellaneous tasks would naturally be arranged and carried out by the family's Armed Forces Department and Engineering Department.

Lorist was completely at ease with Malek being appointed as the person in charge. He merely discussed matters with Malek in private for half a day, adjusting the order and timing of the family's armed legions' deployment. Lorist felt there was no need to pile all three main field legions along Pangshan Province's border. They could simply cover and guard the sections where construction was underway. That way, there would be no need to push the entire defensive line thirty miles forward from the border. Not only would this reduce the troops needed for defense and security, it would also allow the legions carrying out the mission to rotate. In terms of military expenditure, they could save roughly five or six million gold Fudes over five years.

Lorist had made this adjustment out of necessity. The Iron Guard Legion was currently building Liechthana Fortress in Yungshandra Province, and it was expected to be completed only at the end of next year. The Hunter Cavalry Legion was stationed in Muye Province, making it the family's only mobile legion. Once the Rock Army and Flying Tiger Legion headed to Pangshan Province, the only force remaining in the Northland would be Telman's Raging Bear Knight Order. If anything unexpected happened, they would need to rush in immediately and buy the family time to respond.

Although Lorist believed that nothing should change in the
