Themis

After the God King was replaced and the gods departed, three hundred years passed in the blink of an eye.

Over those three hundred years, it was as though a shackle had been unlocked. Omens of divine births appeared in the world more than once, and Khaos's source expanded along with them.

Upon the sea, after the Sky Father fell into eternal sleep at the highest point, the Earth Mother and her second son, Primordial Sea God Pontus, gave birth to five children.

They were Sea Friendliness—Nereus.

Sea Wonder—Thaumas.

Sea Fury—Phorcys.

Danger of the Sea—Ceto.

Sea Power—Eurybia.

After the five sea gods were born, Pontus became considerably more active. He no longer sank into the bottom of the sea in solitude, but often wandered through the coastal waters. Occasionally, he even set foot on land to meet the Earth Mother.

In terms of power, Pontus's Divine Office had partially split because of the birth of his offspring. However, with the birth of these gods, the concept of the sea expanded further. Between the increase and decrease, the Primordial Sea God remained a Great Divine Power at Divine Power Level 17.

Likewise, upon the sea, Lord of the Outer Sea Okeanos and Goddess of Primordial Water Tethys also gave birth to many children. They already numbered over a hundred. The god-children were mostly River Gods, collectively known as the Potamoi. The goddesses represented streams, rivers, pools, lakes, or seas, and even underground bodies of water.

Most of them were not true gods, but Regional Gods at Divine Power Level 0, like Cristo, whom Ryan had created. Although immortal like the gods, their power was far inferior to that of a True God.

Of course, among the Ocean Goddesses known as the Oceanids, there were also True Gods. The most widely known at present were the eldest sister of the Ocean Goddesses, Goddess of Vows Styx, and her younger sister, Goddess of Reputation Clymene.

From then on, the Divine Office of vows was devolved by the world, and Khaos no longer answered the vows of the gods.

However, correspondingly, the price of swearing an oath upon the Styx River was also much lower than it had originally been.

Unlike the bustle upon the sea, on the land and in the sky, apart from God of Mountains Urea independently giving rise to several unknown Mountain Gods, only the eldest daughter of Coeus and Phoebe had been born.

Her name was Leto, Goddess of Conservation and Breastfeeding. Ryan paid her some attention, after all, her future children would become renowned in later generations.

However, none of this concerned the Lord of the Spirit World. For three hundred years, Ryan had ceaselessly absorbed and refined source power day and night. The Spirit World had already covered the entire Underworld Soil and had even begun to spread toward the surface.

He had thought these dull days would continue for several more centuries, but on this day, an unexpected visitor made Ryan stop what he was doing.

Through the Nether Moon, the Spirit World's projection into the Material Realm, Ryan clearly saw a Titan god, Goddess of Justice and Law Themis, standing there.

He reached out and gently stroked the air before him. Space-time rippled, and under Ryan's power, the past and the ever-changing future flashed before his eyes. Soon, he knew the reason for Themis's visit.

"Lyanna, go and bring her to me," Ryan said softly.

"Understood, Your Highness."

The Khaos of this world was similar to that of mythology, but it also differed in many ways. Setting aside the sea, the land alone was more than a hundred times larger than Earth's Mediterranean region, though most places were wild and dangerous.

Moreover, as the world's source grew, Khaos's size continued to increase. By the age of Zeus, no one knew how vast the land would ultimately become.

Although the world had grown larger, many problems had come with it. As Themis measured the land with her own feet, she discovered places where various laws had become disordered more than once.

The world should have been orderly, but in those special places, the rules governing all things became inverted. Water that flowed upward, looping spaces that endlessly circled anyone who entered them, and flames that made people feel cold—as Goddess of Justice and Law, Themis found it difficult to tolerate their existence.

She had tried using the authority of law to correct them, and the result had been gratifying. She had indeed restored the disordered rules to their proper paths. However, as time passed, the goddess discovered that she was merely wasting her effort.

This phenomenon of lawlessness was a manifestation of the world's primordial chaos. It was a flaw left behind at the beginning of creation, and such flaws were being born and dying every moment. No matter how many she eliminated, there would always be another waiting for her.

As long as Chaotic Source Power remained in the laws of the present world, this situation could not be stopped.

"I need to establish a code of law. I will write the proper order within it and let the world see what I wish to say. Then, the laws of the present world will resolve these problems on their own."

Inspired by her Divine Office, Themis went to visit the Earth Mother. She had heard that Gaia possessed three wondrous stone tablets, which had existed since the beginning of Khaos's creation.

Unfortunately, the Earth Mother told her that thousands of years ago, the Divine Decree Stone Tablet had been handed over as a wager to the current God of Spirituality. Thus, to complete her idea, Themis came to the Underworld, the last place where Ryan had appeared in the present world.

However, over the next six months, Themis searched the entire Underworld Soil, yet still found no trace of Ryan. There was only the Nether Moon in the sky, which seemed to have been transformed from one of his former creations. In the end, she came before the Nether Moon, hoping its master could hear her request.

"Your Highness Ryan, I have come to visit you. I hope you will meet with me."

Standing before the Nether Moon, Themis spoke with some helplessness.

However, in the next instant, Themis abruptly retreated and warily watched the space ahead.

A ripple of space flashed, and an aura of spirituality seeped out. A black-robed girl with a pair of wings on her back appeared soundlessly before Themis. Until then, she had not sensed the other's presence at all.

She had never seen the girl before, but without a doubt, this unfamiliar existence radiated the aura of the Nether Moon. More importantly, according to Themis's perception, the other party was clearly a True God, yet she had never felt the fluctuations accompanying her divine birth.

"Lady Themis," the unfamiliar goddess said. Although the Goddess of Justice did not know her, the other party was clearly very familiar with her.

"I have come at your request to meet, Lady. My lord invites you."

"Lord?"

Themis was somewhat startled. She had come to visit the God of Spirituality, yet the goddess before her referred to Ryan as her lord?

Even the former Sky Father, although he had essentially enslaved all the gods, had never made them call themselves servants.

Because they were all gods acknowledged by Heaven and Earth and incarnations of Khaos's laws, belittling the other was equivalent to belittling oneself.

"Please come with me."

Without answering the Goddess of Justice's doubts, Lyanna turned around. A transparent portal appeared before them.

Themis slightly furrowed her brows but did not stop. As immortal gods, the only thing in present-day Khaos that could imprison them was Tartarus. Clearly, she did not believe this unfamiliar space before her possessed power comparable to the Abyss.

Moreover, although she was not certain, Themis guessed that this unknown space before her, as well as the goddess who claimed to be a servant, were likely both consequences of that day three hundred years ago—the day the world had erupted in fury.

Perhaps soon, she would learn the reason behind everything.
