Background / History

The Demon Suppression Division is a major Great Zhou department specifically equipped to hunt and capture demonic beasts. Its members are regarded as elite court-trained experts, and its specialized weapons are made from valuable Mithril 39.

Long before Chu Feng's arrival, the division eradicated the sect that created the Blood Soul Pill, a human-flesh-based cultivation pill. Although the alchemy method was believed destroyed, its reappearance through Black Wind Stronghold becomes a new lead for the organization 97.

The division first intervenes in Yong'an City's demonic-beast crisis by dispatching Demon Suppression Captain Li Xuanhai to investigate a fox-demon attack. His investigation identifies combat traces involving two Bone Forging warriors and two Fourth Realm fox demons 45.

Following Li Zhenshan's death, Li Qingxuan honors her father's final request by arranging Chu Feng's admission. Cui Qingshu grants him a Trainee waist token, beginning Chu Feng's formal service within the division 71.

Authority and Duties

• The division answers only to the Emperor and may act first and report afterward, placing it above ordinary local officials in authority 141.
• It suppresses demonic beasts and hostile martial artists, including bandits, cults, and other threats that local authorities cannot handle 39 86.
• Its jurisdiction extends across martial artists and demonic beasts throughout the realm; its operations have given it a fearsome reputation among common people 90.
• Mission Hall leadership can deploy forces without prior approval when facing a large-scale demon outbreak or a powerful martial-artist disturbance 116.
• Local yamen offices seek its assistance when facing opponents beyond their strength, such as the Viscera Refining leaders of Black Wind Stronghold 93.
