The fireball struck the Wandering Soul. The flames from the explosion made its illusory body ripple.

Compared to Lightning Strike, Fireball's damage was far too low. (At the end of the previous chapter, Lightning Strike should have dealt 460 damage to the Wandering Soul. The calculation was wrong and has been corrected.)

The reason for this involved elemental counters.

Elemental counters were a hidden mechanic. For example, water countered fire, while fire countered wood.

However, this hidden mechanic only worked against monsters and did not apply to battles between people.

Ghosts were Yin-aligned, while lightning was Yang-aligned.

They were natural counters, which was why the 460 damage Lightning Strike dealt to the Wandering Soul had actually been doubled.

After Blue Star's Datafication, skill casting differed somewhat from online games.

In online games, there was a universal casting delay. When casting one skill, you could not cast another because every skill had a casting animation.

Datafied Blue Star was different. Since there were no fixed casting motions, you could use both hands to release skills at once.

However, releasing skills with both hands simultaneously came with a restriction.

The skills had to be Instant Cast in order to be used together.

The wind blade and ice spike shot out, striking the Wandering Soul one after another.

Wind Blade and Ice Spike were also among the Mage's basic spells.

Wind-element spells dealt low damage, consumed little mana, and had the fastest cooldowns.

Ice-element spells dealt even less damage than wind-element spells, but they came with a slow effect. They were the most infuriating spells and were hated and despised by countless Warriors.

Wandering Souls of this level had virtually no attack methods besides lunging. Occasionally, some Wandering Souls possessed the Dark Wind skill.

But clearly, this Wandering Soul did not.

After using Wind Blade, Wang Xian could only stare helplessly while his other skills remained on cooldown. His remaining skills were all physical skills and had no effect on the Wandering Soul.

As for Magic Missile, the universal skill for magic classes, he had not obtained it, nor would he ever obtain it. No monster would ever drop a Magic Missile Skill Book.

"Brother-in-law, when you say something you don't mean next time, could you please control your facial expression? Your mouth is practically stretched up to your ears!" Su Jin's slightly disdainful voice rang out.
