Elemental Life
In the dark forest.
Soren carried Vivian forward, with Goria following lightly behind, and Aladdin leading the way as scouts. The Halfling didn't object much to the addition of an eight-year-old girl to the adventure team, having all witnessed Vivian's terrifying explosive power. A single round of Magic Missile could instantly kill many enemies, a lifesaver in crucial moments. Even after using up all her Magic Missile, Vivian still had nine 0-level Spell and one level 2 Spell, providing considerable assistance.
Soren hadn't expected little Vivian to grow up so quickly; it seemed almost certain she was Godsbane!
Because she learns memory Spell faster than Soren.
The group trekked through the forest for a day, and by noon the next day, they had approached the location of the Elemental Portal. This Portal, left over from many years ago, was quite hidden in a valley near the Emerald Mountains. From the moment they reached the vicinity of the Portal, the number of trees and weeds gradually decreased. The excessive Elemental Energy also affected the growth of plants, because too much of a single type of Elemental Energy would create a field-like effect, gradually repelling other elements.
The land here appears somewhat arid, with weathered rocks scattered about and some sculptures dating back to ancient times.
Those were statues of the Spirit of the Earth, a higher form of Earth Elemental, and also the legendary Avatar of the earth's spirit. They usually slumber deep underground, and can only be awakened and summoned to the surface through special methods. The group's expressions turned serious upon entering the canyon. Soren set Vivian down, letting her walk behind with Goria. He drew his Scimitar and warily surveyed their surroundings. Aladdin, wielding a short sword, moved nimbly, constantly observing the surrounding activity.
Just how powerful is the Mage?
The two Spell that Goria then cast made it clear; as she chanted the incantation, a Spell Aura descended upon everyone.
--"Greater Grace!"
The Grace, also known as ' Cat's Grace,' temporarily increases Agility by 4 points, up to a maximum of 25. The standard Grace is 2nd-level Spell, a single-target Spell. Goria's version is a 6th-Level Spell, capable of buffing multiple targets simultaneously, and lasts twice as long as the standard Grace. Soren's Spell was instantly boosted to 24, while Aladdin reached the maximum of 25. After all, Aladdin is a pure-blooded Rogue, with a class level of 10 or higher, so his Agility is certainly not lower than Sauron's.
"Haste!"
When the second Spell Aura descended, Soren's movement speed doubled instantly. His normal sprint speed completely overwhelmed the level of an Olympic champion, reaching a speed of nearly 4-5 seconds per second for 100 meters. Simultaneously, his attack speed was also significantly increased, swinging his sword at least once more per second. This Spell was also a group spell, with the number of people affected depending on the Spellcaster's level, and the duration of the effect determined by the Spell's strength.
After casting two Spell, Goria stopped and casually created an Energy Protection Barrier for herself and Vivian.
After that, they basically had nothing more to do.
That's how cool mages are; they only resort to Spell to turn the tide when faced with situations they can't overcome.
Aladdin stretched his limbs with great excitement. Then, with a light leap, he jumped four or five meters away, landed, spun around, and soared onto the cliff face. He ran sideways along the wall for seven or eight steps like a circus performer before landing lightly on the ground. He exclaimed happily, "It's been so long since I've worked with Wizard! I really miss the days when I was under the influence of Spell!"
Soren was also stretching his muscles, adapting to the increased speed and agility granted by the Spell. A sudden increase in agility requires time to adjust to, otherwise, mistakes can easily occur during combat. However, they were both experienced Rogue, and after a little exercise, they quickly grasped the appropriate level of Spell enhancement. These two Spell were the most frequently used by Wizard to Spell Rogue, greatly increasing their agility and burst of combat power.
Goria nodded slightly, glanced at them, and said, "Let's finish this quickly. These two Spell will only last for half an hour."
Half an hour is enough.
Soren gestured to Aladdin beside him, and the two entered from the east and west. Experienced Rogue could replace Warrior, and the Rogue, at their level, were not bad at head-on combat. Aladdin gestured, then suddenly rushed into the valley, throwing out a barrage of projectiles. Elemental Life had no fatal weaknesses, nor did they possess any vital organs. Undead could strike the spine and Soul Fire for a fatal blow, but Elemental Life could only be drained of their Hit Points energy bit by bit.
These creatures are immune to Backstab.
Of course, it's not absolute immunity. Just like when fighting Lich, if you can hit the Soul Fire in its eye socket, you can also achieve a fatal Backstab, but the difficulty of achieving this is terrifyingly high. To deal with these Elemental Life, you must accurately hit their Elemental Core, which is usually somewhere inside their body. This requires extremely high strength and weapons. With Soren and Aladdin's current equipment, it is basically impossible for them to penetrate the elemental body.
Many supernatural Hit Points can only deliver Critical Strike if a specific point is hit! Only the effect of Critical Strike can be combined with Backstab for a burst of damage!
This requires the Legendary Feat [Weakness Insight].
Rumble.
With a dull, deafening roar, a colossal creature, three meters tall, emerged. It resembled a humanoid figure formed from piles of earth and rocks, possessing limbs, a torso, and a head—though the head was merely a rock, with the outline of a face barely discernible. The Earth Elemental weighed over half a ton, leaving deep footprints with each step. Its charge was like that of a bulldozer, sweeping away all obstacles in its path.
Clang!
Soren raised his hand and threw a Throwing Dagger, which was deflected by the solid rock on its chest, leaving only a shallow mark.
It can't break through the defense!
Fighting Elemental Life is such a disgusting thing. Earth Elemental have a natural Elemental Armor that makes them immune to any physical damage with an attack strength of less than 10.
Without a doubt, dealing with them is like throwing rocks, only this one is bigger and fiercer.
"Earth Elemental [Elemental Life] (Tier 4)."
"Challenge Rating 9, Personal Level 15, Possesses Spell-like Ability."
"Highest attribute: 22 points; lowest attribute: 10 points; total attribute value: 90-100 points."
Special Feat: Elemental Armor, Improved Sunder, Elemental Life Traits, Earth Throw.
"Challenge difficulty: a-."
It's no exaggeration to say it's twice as powerful as the Abyss Marilith; the A- level challenge difficulty alone demonstrates just how difficult it is to deal with this elemental creature. Soren and Aladdin pounced from the left and right, nimbly twisting and leaping to avoid the Earth Elemental's swinging arm, the massive rocky arm whistling through the air. The two jumped up simultaneously, wielding their weapons to slash and thrust at the Earth Elemental's weak points. Part of its body was made of earth, its torso and limbs were of rock, but its joints were made of earth.
Ding ding ding!
Soren's Scimitar flashed with a cold light as he Dodge before the Earth Elemental could swing its arm and attack again; the enemy's reaction speed was rather slow.
A row of combat data appeared:
"Target hit."
"You launched three slashing attacks against the Earth Elemental!... dealing 5, 4, and 3 points of physical damage respectively!..."
"You have successfully provoked the target."
Soren's hand felt slightly numb; after cutting through the soil, he struck the rock, and the recoil was considerable. It was practically fighting stone; there was no satisfying feeling of cutting flesh and bone with a knife. Aladdin nimbly landed to the side, circling the Earth Elemental, seizing a fleeting opportunity, and leaped again, stabbing his enemy in the arm joint. Both weapons were of decent quality and didn't chip, but what would happen after this battle was anyone's guess.
"Attack the joints of the left and right legs," Soren growled, slipping through the gap between the Earth Elemental's legs and slashing his Scimitar at the enemy's knees, where the soil was softer. Supernatural Hit Points, as long as they maintain a roughly human shape, follow basic rules; without legs, they cannot move.
Ding ding ding!
A series of sparks appeared as the two figures flitted about like butterflies. Within a minute or two, the Earth Elemental Earth Elemental's knees were struck more than ten times, finally reaching a critical point where its lower limbs broke off. To Soren's surprise, even without its lower legs and feet, it could still move using its thighs, though its balance and speed decreased dramatically. Nevertheless, it had achieved their attack objective.
Soren struck it twelve times, accumulating around 60 points of damage. Aladdin might have attacked a few more times, but his damage might not have been as high. The Earth Elemental's CR was 15, with a base Hit Points of at least 150. As a supernatural Elemental Life, it had an additional Hit Points of around 100, meaning its Hit Points could potentially be close to 300, exceeding that of many high-level Warrior.
The Earth Elemental, with its greatly reduced mobility, wasn't very threatening, but the two of them circled around it and pounded away, probably hacking at it a hundred times before finally dispersing its Elemental Energy. At Soren's signal, the Halfling stopped, and he finished off the Earth Elemental with a successful strike.
Both men's weapons were somewhat dull, but their haul was considerable:
"Successfully hit."
"You dealt 4 points of cleavage damage to the Earth Elemental!... Target dead!..."
"Extracting Soul Energy"
"You have gained 2550 Slaughter Experience points."
