Vampiric Touch
A very powerful Quicken Spell.
But this is not the most powerful ability brought about by Evil Divinity. Among Soren's innate abilities is an even more abnormal Quicken Spell.
The most common innate Spell of this Evil Divinity is [Vampiric Touch].
"Vampiric Touch [Talent Ability]: You have successfully fused with the Fear Divinity. When activating this talent ability, you can gather Negative Energy Erosion the enemy's Hit Points and temporarily transfer it to yourself. After activating this ability, any enemy you directly touch will lose (3 * Spell Power) Hit Points, up to a maximum of 60 Hit Points points. This Hit Points will be transferred to you and will heal your injuries. If it exceeds your Hit Points, this Hit Points energy will remain for 1 hour, further increasing your maximum Hit Points. The effects of this Spell do not stack, and the opponent may die instantly due to complete depletion of Hit Points." [Once per day.]
This is the Vampiric Touch.
One of the most powerful low-level Necromancy Spell!
Soren can now absorb over 30 points of his opponent's Hit Points at once when he activates this talent. This Hit Points can be used to heal his injuries. If there are no injuries, it will be added to his own body as temporary Hit Points and will last for 1 hour. If he is injured in the future, this temporary Hit Points will be used first to heal his own injuries.
This Spell is relatively difficult for Wizard to use.
Because Wizard need to maintain distance in combat, it's difficult to control enemies when they get close, but for Rogue like Soren, encountering an enemy is a very simple matter.
A single, instantaneous touch!
Vampiric Touch took effect. The enemy's Hit Points decreased by more than 30 points, Soren's Hit Points increased by more than 30 points.
This back-and-forth action Hit Points points, equivalent to an instant Cure Critical Wounds!
The abilities bestowed by Divinity are quite complex.
First, there's the attribute bonus from Divinity itself. Soren is currently 7 points short of Divinity. Once he reaches that, he can upgrade to [Faint Divinity], which adds 1 to all attributes. Second, there are the innate abilities granted by Divine Essence. These abilities change based on the Divinity itself. For example, Good Alignment Divinity mostly grants Divine Magic healing Bless, and buffing Spell. Evil- Alignment Divinity primarily grants damage Spell and Spell that absorb Hit Points through Negative Energy.
The Fear Divinity will inevitably bring the talent of fear, and then there is the ' Vampiric Touch ' brought by the Divinity of the Evil Alignment.
Soren suffered greatly from this before!
He was accidentally hit by the opponent, instantly losing more than 50 Hit Points and being Heavy Injury Condition on the spot, while the opponent had basically fully recovered.
This innate ability is the key reason why he risked his life to absorb Divinity!
A single ' Vampiric Touch ' has the power to turn the tide of battle, and Soren is now fearless even when facing high-level professionals in a head-on confrontation.
That's how vast the difference is between Deity and mortals.
Deity Avatar descends in saintly form, almost all Spell below level 6 are cast instantly. Some powerful Deity can even cast level 9 Spell instantly.
Their Feat is so vast it's almost overwhelming!
Soren slowly walked out.
Two or three North men sat chatting outside. They had fair skin but large pores and thick body hair, and their physiques were noticeably more robust than those of southerners. This was a general store, and it seemed they also sold some food and drink. There were probably spare rooms upstairs for lodging. It was just an ordinary place with most businesses offering similar services. Soren spotted three children who looked somewhat alike—two boys and a girl—all quite young with chubby little faces; they were likely their children.
Raising three children at the same time definitely requires earning as much money as possible.
Soren nodded slightly. He glanced at the man outside, reached into his pocket, and pulled out ten Gold Daler, which he then handed to the man who was clearly the shop owner.
"No... not so much!... It's too much!..."
The tall, burly North man seemed a little embarrassed. He muttered, "That noble lady has already paid!... She paid for your lodging and meals for a week!..."
Soren smiled and said, "Take it. Consider this money my thanks."
The Commoner people weren't exactly flush with cash, but they didn't have many expenses either; otherwise, Adventurer wouldn't have been able to earn enough in one go to support themselves for the rest of their lives. Ten Gold Daler weren't a small sum for them; it was enough to pay for their three children's tuition to learn to read and write for a year, acquiring some basic knowledge. The plump proprietress beside him was clearly giving him a meaningful look, and the North man hesitated for a moment before finally putting the ten Gold Daler away. He had only earned that much in the last two or three months, adding up his earnings from odds and ends.
Thank you all.
Soren nodded slightly, then turned and walked outside.
This appears to be the edge of Glacier City. In the distance, towering City Wall can be seen, and many areas are scattered around the city, where people are considered outsiders.
Not from the countryside, but not from the city either.
There was still a lot of ice and snow on the road, but you could see teenagers fishing nearby. There was a river to the right of Glacier City, which was already frozen over.
There are very few fish left in the river; it has been overfished, and the fish population has virtually disappeared.
Soren looked up at the sky, then headed into the city. He wanted to sell some jewelry, replenish his supplies, and buy a few Spell Scroll he needed.
Although he had a feeling that Vivian was safe, Soren still wanted to see her as soon as possible.
I always feel empty inside when she's not around.
On a wide avenue.
The coachman drove a specially made carriage forward, followed by seven or eight fully armed knights, clearly skilled guards. They rode short, North horses; these horses were small in stature but had thick coats. While not as strong as southern breeds, their stamina was first-rate. The pack animals used here were mostly adapted to the environment, and occasionally, robust Reindeer could be seen. North horse breeds were expensive, requiring more resources to raise than southern horses, and could only be used by wealthy nobles.
"Mother Greina"
A young girl's clear voice came from inside the ornate carriage. She seemed to be complaining a little, "Why won't you let me take that person with me? He looks like a very skilled Adventurer!"
"Maybe he's a great storyteller? Books say Adventurer like him have many stories to tell!"
Then a stern female voice rang out, slowly saying, "Your Highness Anna, you should watch your words and actions. Your status is noble, representing the dignity of Arendelle. You should not associate with those greedy, filthy, and bloodthirsty Adventurer. In a place without laws, these people could very well become a gang of bandits!"
"You saved his life. If he hadn't met you, he might have frozen to death in the snow."
The girl seemed not to be listening to her at all, tilting her head and muttering, "The books always say that a princess will meet a knight in distress, and then this knight will fall in love with the princess, and then help her restore her kingdom, fight against Evil villains, and kill Dragon and stuff. That person may not be a knight, but maybe he is a very powerful Adventurer? Recently, there have been many stories in books where Adventurer have replaced knights as the protagonists."
"I finally found an Adventurer, but you threw him away!"
The middle-aged woman Greina seemed furious, her face stern as she said, "First of all, Arendelle has an incredibly powerful Princess; no one can threaten Arendelle. Secondly, he's not a knight, and he might not even be a skilled Adventurer. Experienced Adventurer wouldn't put themselves in such a sorry state, and besides, he doesn't seem to have encountered any formidable enemies."
"Finally, the Princess is about to ascend the throne."
"Your Highness Anna, can you imagine the expression on the Princess's face when she sees an Adventurer you picked up on the road?"
"I don't think you want her to be angry, do you?"
The pretty young girl seemed a little dejected, fiddling with her ponytail with her slender white fingers. She untied the other side of the ponytail, tied it into a single ponytail with a delicate ribbon, then pouted and muttered, "I'm just a little bored. The princesses in books all have such exciting lives, either fighting terrifying Demon or defeating powerful Dragon, or at the very least, having a fantastical adventure. I'm stuck in my room every day, either learning court etiquette or how to manage a kingdom—it's always the same old thing."
"This is so annoying!"
The girl grew angrier as she spoke, reaching out to rip off her hairband, making a mess of her beautiful hair.
The middle-aged woman beside her seemed somewhat helpless as she slowly said, "You are one of the two most dazzling jewels of Arendelle! After the Princess is crowned Queen, you will certainly have to manage the kingdom together!"
"I think you should read less of those vulgar books; they're just lowly Bard using them to fool naive young girls!"
Upon hearing this, the girl's beautiful eyes widened, her pretty face puffed up with anger, as if she wanted to refute the other party. But suddenly the carriage shook, and then the surroundings became eerily quiet.
The middle-aged woman used astonishing agility to shield her behind her, then lifted the carriage curtain to glance outside.
The coachman stood frozen in place, his eyes darting around frantically, his lips barely moving as if trying to say something, but no sound came out. All the guards outside remained stiffly in place, and even the horses seemed like puppets.
--"Mass Hold Person [Instant Cast]!"
Level 9 Spell.
Nearby, there were Wizard or priests of near- Legendary Tier who used their [Quicken Spell] Metamagic Feat to freeze the entire caravan's guards in place.
