Charm Person
Shipwreck Bay.
This is a unique port city, with the harbor occupying one-third of the city. A lighthouse tens of meters high divides the harbor in two, with merchant ships on the left carrying river transport and large ships on the right carrying sea transport. The city is somewhat noisy, with burly men carrying swords and looking menacing everywhere. Due to its special geographical environment Shipwreck Bay is a mixed bag, and the forces of the Deity are intertwined. It is also the largest port for selling stolen goods near the South Coast.
Soren glanced around and spotted three or four groups of people gathered together, either local gangs or pirates hunting on the sea.
The temples here are a mixed bag, with priests who worship the Lord of Storms, priests who worship the Goddess of the Sea, and other Deity who protect the shadowy, Evil, and illegal Trade. It's a chaotic, intertwined area, so it's best not to provoke trouble. Soren wore a Dark Red Cloak, which made him slightly conspicuous, drawing glances from the others. A young man furtively looked around before stumbling closer.
"Uh-huh?"
Soren frowned, instantly grabbed the other's wrist, and twisted it to the ground.
A scream rang out.
Three or five burly men were clearly trying to approach, but at this moment, Soren had already released his grip, glanced coldly at the young man kneeling on the ground, and slowly said, "Keep your eyes open, or you'll lose your life next time."
This is a thief.
Almost every city has a group of people who like to target outsiders, who then seek refuge with local gangs. They hand over a large portion of their stolen goods. Soren used to do just that, stealing from the docks, looking for easy targets, with outsiders being a priority because they were unfamiliar with the area and easier to deal with. However, this guy was really blind to steal from him; perhaps it was because Soren wasn't carrying any weapons, and because he was wearing a cloak, the Wizard's insignia couldn't be seen.
Silk Gloves of the Black Hand. Exquisite Dark Red Cloak.
Soren was somewhat striking, and occasionally women would glance at him, blushing slightly or staring at him intently after seeing his handsome features. His Half-Elf blood already gave him considerable charm, and now, adorned with a cool, arrogant, luxurious, and stylish cloak, he was noticeably even more handsome than before, as if the clothes made the man. The cloak accentuated his aura from every angle, giving Soren a slightly sinister yet refined and arrogant aristocratic air.
This charm manifests itself in leaving a lasting impression, or in unexpectedly captivating arousal. The former applies to men, while the latter to women. Since Soren's original charm was 16 points, and now it's increased to 18, it's like when he first met Goria —he was genuinely struck by her aura, leaving a very deep impression, even though he hadn't initially seen her face.
Soren seemed a little uncomfortable with the gaze; he frowned slightly, then turned and walked towards the alley.
Having high charm has its advantages, but it also brings its own set of troubles.
Charismatic individuals easily stand out in a crowd, appearing as if they're cranes among chickens. This might not be a good thing for Rogue. Someone followed furtively from behind, glanced at them a few times, and then headed in another direction. Gangs like to keep an eye on certain individuals; these guys sometimes sell information. But Soren was looking for a different group. Gangs are mostly shady characters. He was looking for an organization that professionally sold information.
Those people are the real well-informed local bullies!
Those unfamiliar with the Grey Domain wouldn't recognize the coded signs and symbols crisscrossing the streets and alleys; even Adventurer needed experienced Rogue to guide them. Soren had come into contact with almost all the top Grey Domain organizations, so he quickly found an inconspicuous sign and then turned towards the location of an underground casino deep in the alley. At the entrance stood a burly thug. Noticing Soren was a stranger, he frowned slightly, but then forced a smile. Soren revealed a distinctive Crest.
"I want to get some information. Take me to your boss, or I'll twist your head off!"
Soren's expression was calm, but the other person couldn't help but shudder. He quickly led him to the back, where a group of gambling addicts, local residents, dockworkers, and occasionally, fierce-looking pirates could be seen. Soren followed him up the stairs, where a group of thugs stood lazily around the perimeter; such a place was sure to have a large number of people. After reaching the second floor, Soren heard a woman shouting. He kicked open the door and went inside.
Inside were two alluring prostitutes, their faces heavily made up with smoky makeup, their eyelids completely black, and their lips extremely red. These women were so skilled at makeup that they even dared to apply poison to their faces. The two women were intertwined, one moving up and down while the other twisted and rubbed against the other. Below them was the person Soren was looking for: a burly man with a somewhat sinister face. He was clearly very displeased that someone had barged in; his expression instantly darkened, as if he were about to erupt in anger.
"Get them out!"
Soren sat down directly opposite him and flashed a Crest in front of the man's eyes. The next moment, a cold sweat broke out on his forehead, and he quickly told the two women to get out. It was a peculiar masked symbol, which looked rather eerie at first glance. He didn't dare to examine the Crest closely to see if it was real or fake, and quickly straightened himself up and stood up.
The local bully's expression was surprising. The two women exchanged a glance and obediently walked out, glancing at Soren a few more times before leaving. One of the women even shook her breasts at him.
"Your Mightiness."
The man in front of him stood up, looking somewhat reserved, and said, "May I ask what brings you here?"
Soren's expression remained arrogant, glancing at him with what seemed like disdain, and he slowly said, "I want to know all the information related to the Fear God Child."
Clang.
He tossed out a money pouch, from which sprang several glittering gold Gold Daler. The other man's gaze was immediately drawn to it. In that instant, Soren's pupils turned sinister as he stared directly into the other man's eyes and said, "Tell me everything you know. Don't hold back a single thing, or you know what will happen."
--"Fear Gaze!"
--"Charm Person!"
The man before him seemed momentarily Stun by the gaze, then his expression froze for a split second before he regained his composure. He stood up respectfully and nodded, saying, "Rest assured, Your Excellency. I will absolutely not conceal anything!"
Time passed quickly.
When Soren came out of the room, his brow was slightly furrowed.
After all his men had left the underground casino, the cold-blooded man seemed to wake up with a start, muttering, "What was wrong with me? Why did I tell him everything?"
He shuddered involuntarily, his expression showing some fear, but when he saw the money bag in front of him, he quickly took it.
"Anyway, they paid me."
The man shook his head and said, "This kind of guy is far too dangerous; there's no need to provoke him."
In the alley.
Soren walked towards the inn. Charm Spell was still as effective as ever for gathering intelligence, though previously it was always Sorcerer who did it; now he could cast Spell himself. The effect of Charm Person wasn't very strong; it couldn't forcibly change a person's will, at most achieving a psychological suggestion effect, somewhat like hypnotizing the target, but the recipient would remember the process. It was a will-based Spell with many Evil uses.
Unfortunately, the chance of Spell Saving Throw is very high, making it far less effective in combat than Rage and Charm or higher-level ' Control.
Mind Control is the truly useful Spell.
The information provided by the other side was actually quite limited. Soren only knew that the Fear God Child had caused unrest in various parts of the south, with seven or eight Fear God Child appearing one after another, causing considerable chaos in their mutual Slaughter. The most information about these Godsbane was about a Vampire. It was impossible to know how the Demon Lord of Fear had cultivated Vampire God Child, but this guy was the most dangerous among them. He had already killed three or five Fear God Child, and his strength was approaching the high-level Legendary Domain.
This guy's tracks are scattered across many areas, and he seems to be constantly hunting other Godsbane. He is currently approaching the coastal area.
The latest intelligence indicates that he was spotted near the City of Wealth.
There is no news of Vivian.
The other party is merely an organization that worships the God of Rogues; they don't possess such astonishing intelligence capabilities.
The only useful information Soren had was that the Vampire God Child seemed to have angered some being, and a Legendary Paladin was currently hunting him down.
The paladin Sauron sounded familiar, because he was known as the "Silver Hand."
This is Paladin who worships the God of Truth. He is on par with the [Hand of Justice]. Both Paladin are very powerful, and of course, their equipment is even more formidable.
Because they each possess a Artifact!
Paladin are mostly fanatical believers, or at the very least, devout believers. This profession easily earns them the favor of the Deity, making them the Deity' top-tier henchmen.
It just so happens that Paladin are one of the classes most effective against Dark Creature, no wonder that Vampire God Child was being hunted down everywhere.
Soren planned to stay here for two days before continuing his southward journey in search of Vivian.
