Under the cold moonlight.

Two guards from the Rosard Chamber of Commerce were on patrol. Because the Chamber of Commerce's headquarters housed a large amount of goods, security was always tight. It was already quite tiring at this hour, and the two older guards were chatting about which prostitutes in Port Tyler were prettier. Basically, by middle age, these men who made their living through force would switch to more stable jobs. The younger guards were used for the caravans' voyages, while the more experienced ones stayed behind for guard duty and surveillance.

The shadows in the darkness twisted slightly.

The older guard, perhaps in his forties, stopped abruptly, his instincts honed by years of combat; he almost immediately drew his weapon. But it was too late. A gleaming Scimitar pierced his back, nearly piercing through him. Then another Scimitar swung at the man beside him, instantly severing his head in half. Because he used his left hand, Soren hadn't severed the head completely, only breaking the neck bone; a piece of flesh still clung to the neck. The bloodied head hung on his back; another three centimeters or so would have been enough to cut it off.

Large spurts of blood gushed out.

Soren coldly raised his leg to support the falling corpses, preventing any noticeable thud. He gently drew his Scimitar and dragged the two bodies to a corner. So far, he hadn't encountered any enemies strong enough to threaten him; the highest-ranking enemy he'd taken down was around level three. Except for a troublesome trap near the warehouse, almost everyone was asleep. Most of the people here were Toughness, ordinary people; the main force of the caravan seemed to have already set sail.

Soren has already killed twenty-six people.

The smell of blood in the air had become much stronger. If someone woke up, they might be discovered; he didn't have much time left.

A chilling killing intent was slowly gathering.

With each enemy he killed, the cold light in Soren's eyes intensified; he felt no mercy whatsoever. After stealthily entering a room, he immediately unleashed a flurry of blade light, instantly killing the five sleeping men inside. One of them seemed to awaken, but before he could even process what was happening, a flash of light severed his head. Soren silently sheathed his sword and retreated. The courtyard was quite large; he needed to finish off the remaining targets as quickly as possible.

"Who!?"

The increasingly strong stench of blood finally alerted the experts within the Chamber of Commerce. A burly man in the backyard suddenly opened his eyes and grabbed a weapon from beside the bed. He pushed open the door, looked around, and immediately shouted. A commotion erupted nearby, followed by a dozen or so men, wielding swords and other weapons and disheveled, rushing out. This man appeared to be an important figure in the Chamber of Commerce. The others clearly gathered around him, and he commanded, "Enemies have invaded! Wake the others up!"

The shadow behind him twisted.

A sudden chill ran through him, making his hair stand on end and causing him to stiffen. When he looked down at his chest, a Scimitar had pierced his heart. The biting cold seeped into his blood, and he could see wisps of frost forming at the wound. Soren was not masked. Since he intended to kill all his targets, there was no need for him to wear a mask. After finishing off the warrior, who was probably at least a third-tier Warrior, with a single strike, Soren raised his finger and fired a volley of Magic Missile.

One of the thugs, caught off guard, had his head smashed open, his nose knocked off, and the center of his face caved in.

He was just an ordinary person.

He was probably Warrior who had only recently advanced in rank; such an enemy couldn't even withstand a single blow from him.

--"Bull's Strength."

Although he instantly killed the Chamber of Commerce leader left behind, the sheer number of men still emboldened the other guards. Someone clearly tried to ring the bell as a warning, but Soren immediately shot him with Heavy Crossbow; his Versatile Hands had enhanced his accuracy. The man was struck in the head. Soren then drew another Scimitar. Wielding both Scimitar, he charged towards the dozen or so guards before him. He leaped forward, using the roof beams for leverage, causing the beams to tremble. In an instant Scimitar flashed, severing the throats of two enemies.

A sense of fear was spreading.

It was clear that many people were frightened, and some even planned to flee for help.

Soren's expression was rather cold. He charged directly at an enemy ten times his size, and amidst a flurry of flashing blades, blood splattered as limbs were severed one by one. A minute and a half later Soren sheathed his sword, leaving behind twelve corpses, their throats slit. Terrified screams echoed from the darkness, alerting other nearby Chamber of Commerce, but no one seemed to dare approach. The stench of blood in the air had become incredibly strong.

Soren expressionlessly drew his Heavy Crossbow and shot the target who had screamed.

There are not many survivors left.

He glanced coldly around, then lit a torch and threw it directly towards the warehouse. The Naga Priestess's task was to kill them all; he didn't have much time to clean up the battlefield. He could only pick out some easily obtainable and valuable items to take with him before finishing off the remaining targets.

This is just the first cleanup point; he'll be burning the ships in the harbor later.

It must be completed within half an hour!

Otherwise, the Port Tyler Guard Force might be mobilized. Although he was helping the Temple of the Sea deal with the Betrayer, it was not appropriate for him to directly confront the Guard.

Port Tyler, a port city.

Soren threw the severed-throat corpse into the sea, then leaped onto the surface. Although he jumped from a height of more than ten feet, he didn't land in the Seawater. Instead, he lightly touched the surface and then, as if his feet were firmly planted on the ground, leaped more than ten meters away. This was the power of Levitate. This Spell, when used by Wizard, simply results in hovering, but for Rogue, it has the effect of unparalleled lightness skill. Soren didn't need to be fully levitated; he only needed a point of leverage to perform many extremely difficult maneuvers.

For example, the ability to climb. Many people think it's useless.

But for Soren, a single leap, a 360-degree spin while gripping an object with one hand, is enough to leave a group of enemies below dumbfounded.

Many fundamental abilities are indispensable in combat!

Rumble.

A deafening roar followed, and then two large ships were engulfed in flames. One of them had already begun to sink.

Soren frowned, glancing at his blood-soaked body, before vanishing into the darkness. The First Wave of the day's cleansing was complete. His performance should have satisfied the Naga Priestess, as there were practically no survivors tonight. Soren had nearly reached three digits in targets!

There was a time when he could also unleash Musou Frenzy amidst the crowd.

Port Tyler is far from peaceful today.

Because people died last night, and many people died.

The Rosard Chamber of Commerce's stronghold near the port was completely wiped out. Nearly fifty people were killed, most by having their throats slit. There was almost no resistance; it was a one-sided massacre. At dawn, their large ship anchored near the port was set ablaze, the sailors either burned to death or had their throats slit. Only a few who had gone out for pleasure survived, but they were terrified and had hidden themselves away in some unknown corner.

The entire Port Tyler was shaken.

Overnight, the name ' Throat Cutter ' spread throughout the entire port, making many ruthless individuals tremble.

Nearly a hundred lives lost!

To be able to kill so many people in one night, only Quasi-Legendary Assassin could accomplish that, right?

There were no clear signs of a large-scale attack at the scene.

The killer might just be one person!

Anyone with a discerning eye could see the influence of the Temple of the Sea behind this, because the Guard of Port Tyler were merely cleaning up the mess, showing no intention of apprehending the culprits. The only ones taking action were the followers of the Lord of Storms; after all, those merchants had converted to the Lord of Storms, and if they didn't do anything, it would certainly dampen the followers' enthusiasm. Anyone with a modicum of sense knew that this was a competition between two temples, and no one would be foolish enough to get involved in such a conflict.

Because this is just too dangerous!

Temple of the Sea.

Soren emerged from the shadows. The Naga Siren was already waiting there, a slight smile playing on her dark blue face. She said slowly, "Very good! I'm satisfied with your efficiency! These Betrayer deserve such a thunderous punishment!"

"You don't need to worry about the other few who slipped through the net. I'll arrange for people to take care of them."

"You need to be careful lately. The followers of the Lord of Storms seem to be making moves; they're investigating who killed those Betrayer. But it's not a big deal. The power of the Goddess of the Sea is not to be underestimated, and they won't attack you directly. At most, they'll hire some Adventurer. I'll secretly send people to assist you, and they won't dare to engage in open conflict."

"The faith in the goddess is now firmly established."

"Those who were itching to convert have all quieted down. It seems they understand the consequences of abandoning the faith of the Goddess of the Sea."

"Come with me."

"You deserve a reward for your performance last night, and I've also prepared some helpers for you. Perhaps you'd be interested in serving the Goddess of the Sea; whether it's wealth or power, the Temple of the Sea can give you what you desire."

The worship of Evil God does not require adoration, but only instills awe and fear in believers.

The Naga Priestess, with a broad smile, led Soren toward the back of the hall. It seemed that her mood had improved after killing the first batch of targets.

More importantly, all those guys who were itching to make a move because of profit have become obedient.

Fear can sustain faith for a very long time!

From now on, anyone who wants to betray the faith of the Goddess of the Sea should think about what will happen to them today. However, last night's intimidation was not enough. These guys need to be made to tremble with fear at the thought of the consequences of betraying their faith.

The Slaughter should not stop.

More blood must be shed to teach them the price of Betrayer! The Goddess of the Sea's fame has never stemmed from mercy!
