Speaker of the Dead
The Naga Priestess led Soren toward the foot of the temple.
Soren followed calmly behind. Although he hadn't gained much Slaughter Experience from last night's battle, Soren had acquired a special background Feat: the advanced Assassin's background Feat, [Heart of Slaughter]. The main force of the Rosard Chamber of Commerce had gone to the Soros Islands for arms Trade, leaving behind mostly ordinary sailors and guards. Last night, they encountered two professionals of level three or higher; the rest were all sailors of level one or two, or even ordinary people.
For Soren now, all enemies below class level 10 (Tier 3) are simply easy targets for annihilation.
Only enemies with a job level of 15 or higher (Tier 4) can give him even the slightest trouble.
"Heart of Slaughter [Background Feat]: You have become accustomed to death and bloodshed through countless acts of Slaughter. Ending Hit Points holds no difficulty or fear for you. You have ended hundreds of Hit Points with your own, and you have begun to disregard death. In battle, you will awaken the power of your Heart of Slaughter, which will make you show no mercy to your enemies. Even Spell such as Friendship spells will not affect your judgment. [Permanent Willpower +1]"
This is a prerequisite Feat for the Quasi-Legendary Feat [Instinct of Slaughter].
If Soren masters the Special Feat [Instinct of Slaughter], he can retain his combat abilities unconsciously. For example, after being hit by Spell such as ' Confusion ', ' Mislead ', or 'Frenzy', even if Soren cannot pass the Spell Saving Throw check, his body and will will be controlled by [Instinct of Slaughter], automatically entering a state of Slaughter intent. This Feat is an extremely difficult Special Feat to train and acquire. Those who can master it are almost all powerful individuals who have emerged from mountains of corpses Sea of Blood.
He doesn't yet know how to train to achieve this.
Very few people possess this Special Feat, and even if they do, few will reveal it.
[Heart of Slaughter] has two advancement opportunities: [The Butcher] from the background Feat, and [Deathwalker], the top-tier Slaughter background Feat for the Evil Alignment!
100 kills, 500 kills, 1000 kills.
These three background Feat are Feat. This means that acquiring the [Butcher] Feat will not replace the [Heart of Slaughter] Feat; the Willpower attribute boosts from the two background Feat are cumulative. The top-tier Slaughter background Feat is [Deathwalker], which is essentially a Legendary background Feat. While it significantly enhances abilities, it also makes one vulnerable to attacks from the Good Alignment. There are many other background Feat, such as [Radiant Herald] for the Good Alignment and [Natural Balancer] for the Druid Alignment, etc.
There are actually many background Feat. Many people born in the North are born with the [North] background Feat, which gives them a 1-point bonus to Cold Resistance and Willpower.
The air smelled of the Seawater.
Soren seemed to smell something strange and frowned slightly.
The Naga Priestess seemed unconcerned, leading Soren into the Basement. The Temple of the Sea contained numerous underground water channels; the building itself appeared to stand upright in the Seawater, with traces of artificial alteration extending hundreds of meters underground. The sound of dripping water filled the air. The Naga Priestess led Soren to a platform, where she stopped and began to chant a low, eerie incantation. Immediately, the Seawater before them began to churn and boil as if in a boiling rage.
Three eerie creatures gradually appeared before Soren, swimming out of the deep blue Seawater.
"This is!?..."
Soren's expression was somewhat astonished, and he murmured, "This is the aura of the Undead!?... What are they?...?"
Before Soren appeared three twisted monsters. The first looked somewhat like Shark-man, but its skin showed signs of decay, with shells and seaweed growing from its flesh. The second creature resembled Naga Siren, but had only two arms and looked similar to the first; it seemed to have died but had been transformed into Undead of the sea for some reason. The last was a sinister-looking Banshee, whose former form was likely Spectre, transformed into Ocean Banshee for some reason.
Don't be surprised!
A smug smile played on the Naga Priestess's lips. She slowly said, "The sea is full of danger and death!... The Goddess of the Sea also rules over the Death Domain within the sea!... They are all servants of the Goddess of the Sea!... Now they will serve as your allies!... Those Betrayer seem to have won over the natives of the Faith Storm!... It will be difficult for you to defeat them alone!... Therefore, I will send even stronger allies to help you eliminate them..."
"Come with me!"
The Naga Priestess reached out and grabbed Soren's arm, then opened a Portal. The next moment, they appeared on a vast expanse of sea. Numerous reefs were visible nearby, and something could be vaguely discerned on the seabed. Near the islands, there were many sunken ships, suggesting this was an ancient shipping route. Before the trade routes to the Soros Islands were fully explored, many ships had run aground and sunk here. A whirlpool-like force could be faintly sensed on the seabed.
"Sa!... Ah!... Moro!..."
The Naga Priestess chanted in an eerie tone, seemingly in some kind of Aquan. Even a genius like Soren couldn't understand the language of marine species, so he couldn't comprehend a single word. However, he seemed to sense a power within the language. An invisible energy fluctuation rippled across the sea surface, and he could immediately feel an energy field expanding outwards, spreading within a radius of several hundred meters.
Great white sharks appeared nearby!
These enormous sea monsters circled in the distance. They were the most common and dangerous creatures in the ocean, capable of destroying small boats on the spot. The Ocean Shark-man had tamed many great white sharks, some of which were even the size of whales. These were some kind of mutated Ocean Monster, belonging to the near- Legendary level of challenging creatures. Something seemed to move on the seabed, followed by churning waves. Some creatures that looked like Naga Siren but were not Naga Siren appeared. They had almost no signs of life, looking like corpses mixed with marine algae and other organisms.
It's somewhat like a modified Ghoul, but much more powerful.
Rumble!
A deafening roar echoed from the seabed, followed by a mast breaking through the waves. Then appeared a dilapidated yet perfectly intact Ghost Ship, covered in seaweed and decaying wood. One after another, Wraith appeared on the deck, only to be sucked into the decaying wood by a tremendous force. The Ghost Ship then began to repair itself as if resurrected. Some Undead creatures, neither human nor ghost, rose to their feet and came one by one onto the Ghost Ship's deck.
A mist rose from the surrounding sea, as if the aura of death had enveloped the area.
"This is Ghost Fleet!"
A cruel smile crept across the Naga Priestess's lips as she handed Soren something resembling a conch shell horn, saying in a deep voice, "The Goddess of the Sea has scattered the Ghost Fleet among temples across the land. Although I can only command one of them, it should be enough to help you kill those Betrayer."
As if propelled by an invisible force, the Ghost Ship with black sails silently arrived before the two.
The Naga Priestess grabbed Soren's hand and led him onto the Ghost Ship. Then, gazing at the Undead sailors before her, a strange light appeared in her pupils. The Undead sailors knelt down one by one, and the entire Ghost Ship fell into a deathly silence, with only the chilling wind blowing by, causing Soren to shiver involuntarily.
This ship is Hit Points! It's alive!!!
It is a living thing, once brought to Hit Points as Undead by Legendary Spell, somewhat like a 'living castle' or ' Animated Tower Spirit ' created by a high-level Wizard.
Soren felt extremely uncomfortable.
It was as if he were standing on the corpse of a rotting Dark Creature; he could even feel the Ghost Ship breathing, breathing the breath of death.
The Naga Priestess handed the horn to Soren, saying in a deep voice, "From today onwards, it is yours to command. Human, do not disappoint me!"
Soren reached out and caught the horn, and suddenly a dense stream of data appeared before his eyes.
A while later...
The stream of data in front of him gradually disappeared, and then a series of data appeared:
