Intrigue Everywhere!
Port Tyler, Temple of the Sea.
At the very bottom of the temple, which stretched towards the sea, the Naga Priestess stood quietly before a high platform, waiting. Soon, a soft rustling sound came from the Seawater, followed by a Toughness Naga Guard emerging from the Seawater. He then stood upright and slithered towards her like a snake, bowing slightly as he said, "Priest! The Throat Cutter has gone to Shipwreck Bay; he doesn't seem to intend to seek help from the temple."
The Naga Priestess narrowed his eyes slightly and said slowly, "Is that so? It seems he's confident he can handle those bastards in Shipwreck Bay?"
The Naga Guard hesitated for a moment, then said in a deep voice, "Priest, why should we waste so much effort on this human? Although he is quite strong, our Naga Race has many warriors who are no weaker than him! Besides, we are already supporting a Pirate King; do we really need to invest so many resources in him?"
The Naga Priestess gave him a strange smile, a playful look, and then suddenly lashed out with her whip before saying, "Do I need you to question my arrangements? You're getting more and more audacious!"
The Naga Guard remained silent and took the whip lash without a word.
The Naga Priestess seemed to laugh in exasperation, and said in a deep voice, "You've certainly become much more confident. What did the royal family promise you? Do you still have to decide who you're loyal to?"
The Naga Guard hesitated for a moment, then slowly said, "I am forever loyal to the Goddess of the Sea."
"Good to know." The Naga Priestess gave him a cold look and said in a deep voice, "Although Asroder is one of the Three Great Pirate Kings, he is more inclined towards the Naga Royal Family Naga Royal Family, and his power is largely supported by them. Don't think I don't know what those guys are thinking. Wasn't the last purge enough? They actually want to resurrect that monster. Although the Goddess of the Sea is in a deep sleep, she is still the ruler of the sea, and no one can threaten her rule!"
"A loser who has been killed by the goddess can never regain control of the sea!"
The Naga Priestess seemed to be issuing a warning before slowly saying, "We need the power of that human. Although the worship of the Goddess of the Sea is widespread across the sea, it is mainly concentrated among the Naga and Merfolk. We don't have a strong faith base among humans, and this is the closest place we've come to humans. Even just on the coastal islands, we face resistance from other forces. To spread the worship of the Goddess of the Sea to all coastal areas, we must rely on the power of humans!"
"There are far too many humans; they are more important to the goddess than the sea creatures!"
"Although the Naga Race have many powerful followers, can they operate freely in human territory? Can they spread the goddess's faith on land? They can't even enter coastal cities!"
"Here."
"It took us hundreds of years to establish ourselves in this Port Tyler, but even now I can't show myself to humans at will, because humans are a very exclusive race!"
"They are afraid of us."
"We have very little influence over the coastal cities. The core forces of the Church of the Sea are almost entirely unable to enter these cities. We need human power, and that human is the Legendary we can most easily win over! Moreover, I can see his potential. If such a person can join the Church of the Sea, we should be able to spread our faith to the coastal cities very quickly!"
"Send out Ghost Ship."
"We need to keep an eye on his movements. He actually thinks that subduing those pirates will be enough to deal with the King of the Swamp. Those trash wouldn't even stand a chance against the King of the Swamp's monster-like power."
"Oh, right."
The Naga Priestess pondered for a moment, then said, "Keep an eye on the Manta Ray ' movements. If necessary, have the Merrow Corsair intercept them. These monsters have been left to roam freely for quite some time."
"Send word that Asroder Son of Dagon has been severely wounded. This time, we must completely annihilate the followers of the King of the Deep Sea!"
"He would be a great bait!"
"The King of the Swamp is a foolish and savage opponent. He has absolutely no way to resist the temptation of a Goddess of the Sea's favorite. If he can kill him, the King of Marshes can perform a blasphemous sacrifice of the highest order, Demon Lord Dagon would be more than happy to respond to his sacrificial prayers made in exchange for the Goddess of the Sea's favorite!"
Shipwreck Bay.
Soren stood at the bow, watching the pirate ships appear in the distance. The number of ships before him was somewhat beyond his expectations, flying all sorts of flags; almost half of the pirates in Shipwreck Bay had appeared here. However, there weren't many truly threatening Warship, probably only about ten or so; the rest were mostly fast boats operating in coastal waters. These were the kind of boats prepared by smaller pirates, who relied on speed to catch up with cargo ships and then use grappling hooks to board them.
"So... so many enemies!..."
Behind them came the sound of a pirate swallowing hard, his voice trembling slightly. These trash could only fight when they had the upper hand; their legs went weak at the sight of too many enemies.
Adele Isabella seemed a little nervous as well. She picked up her Monocular, glanced around, and then said in a low voice, "Your Excellency! Besides the Sea Wolf, there are other pirates, including North pirates. I'm afraid he has gathered many small groups of pirates together."
Soren frowned and remained silent.
The morale of their own pirates was low, and these trash didn't have much loyalty to speak of. Seeing the numerical difference of almost five or six times, they had little desire to fight.
We must spur these scoundrels to fight!
Soren turned and stood on the high platform. He gazed at the pirates on the three nearby warships, then said in a cold voice, "Victory will be ours! Shipwreck Bay will be our territory!"
"And the bravest among you will become the captain of my fleet!"
"Open your eyes wide!"
"Look how this bunch of trash Destruction!"
Under the sea.
A massive shadow began to advance, a twenty-meter-long Killer Whale gradually approaching from the seabed. A Cruelty smile crept across Soren's lips. With a light snap of his fingers, a small pirate ship in the distance suddenly rocked violently before being overturned by the enormous shadow and sinking into the sea. These Inshore Cutter had no ability to withstand wind and waves; some of them looked like oversized sailboats, their hulls smaller than the Killer Whale's body.
"Aaaaaah!... Sea Monster!... Sea Monster!... There's Sea Monster!!!..."
Although he hadn't managed to control the Large Octopus, the Killer Whale was more than enough to deal with these pirates. A third-tier Killer Whale had a huge advantage in size; its twenty-meter-long body could capsize those speedboats with a single ramming motion. A shadowy mass swam in the Seawater, and then one speedboat after another sank to the bottom. Seeing the number of enemies, Soren already had the idea of using the Killer Whale to wear them down. He directly manipulated the Killer Whale to brute force a large group of pirates.
A series of splashes echoed through the water, reducing the enemy's numbers by nearly half! This was because there were far too many weaklings among them!
The Seawater is teeming with pirates.
Many pirates frantically climbed onto the large ship, because in the ocean they weren't even a morsel of prey for the Killer Whale. This giant sea creature seemed to be showing signs of mutation, perhaps due to the Slaughter and devouring of too many enemies.
"Prepare for battle!"
Adele clearly saw this as an opportunity. She glanced at her High Morale men and shouted, "Hard to starboard! Gunners, prepare! Fire!"
Boom boom boom!
A series of muffled thuds followed.
The artillery of that era wasn't very powerful, and all of it used solid shot, but it was still lethal. Because the enemy was so densely packed, one of the gunners directly broke off the mast of a Warship. The mast broke in half, making a sound of it being unable to bear the weight, and then crashed down onto the deck with a loud thud, instantly killing several unlucky guys.
"Prepare for boarding action!"
Adele drew her longsword, and some valiant pirates came to the deck. The cannons were merely decorative; the real deciding factor was hand-to-hand combat. The Alchemy Craft of this world were strictly restricted by the Church and the Druids, making it virtually impossible for these cannons to hit those powerful professionals head-on, and their reloading speed was far too slow.
Soren's figure also vanished at that moment!
He needed a perfect Slaughter to solidify his authority; he needed to use absolute force to suppress these pirates.
Slaughter is the best solution.
