Different Plans! (First Update)
The sky gradually darkened.
Dark Blade Andri's expression was grim as he left the hall. The Drow Warrior he had brought had already been settled in another quarter, and by the time he returned, they were already waiting for him. These Drow didn't seem to completely trust Soren either; even after settling in, they remained fully armed, quietly awaiting their leader's return. Drow are highly suspicious intelligent beings; they find it difficult to trust others in a short period of time.
"How about it?"
A younger-looking Drow Warrior stood up and asked, "Lord Dark Blade! What did that gentleman say?"
Dark Blade - Andri glanced at the others, noticing that they too had made requests of His Majesty, and could only sigh helplessly, "He wants us to serve him and fight for him. If we can do that, the tribe will receive a constant supply of resources. He even promised to let us migrate here to live."
These words silenced many people.
At first glance, the terms seemed like a good offer, but upon closer inspection, they smacked of annexation. The Drow probably didn't want to be controlled by a human; cooperation was the limit they could currently accept. Unless Soren's power was so great that they couldn't resist or refuse, and could easily erase their existence. Before arriving here, the female Priest had already made their decision. In fact, those women were somewhat resentful and distrustful of humans; otherwise, the leader wouldn't have been a male Drow.
It's important to know that Drow elves are inherently of a lower status than females!
"Lord Dark Blade!" A young Drow Warrior hesitated for a moment before slowly saying, "Didn't we expect things to turn out this way before we came? After all, there's no such thing as a free lunch. He'll definitely need us to give something in return! If it's just fighting for him, it's not a big deal for us. We've dealt with natives more than once or twice."
What is the largest number of Overseas Islands?
Indigenous people.
This group of Drow had clashed with the natives more than once or twice. Basically, in any of the slightly better living conditions on the Overseas Islands, where resources and food were abundant, there were native tribes of varying sizes. They had learned many ways to deal with the natives in this Cruelty environment; after all, they were Drow, equally dangerous and Evil creatures. Even though they had abandoned their faith in the Spider Queen, a trace of cunning and cruelty remained in the nature of the Drow!
"I know."
Dark Blade - Andri glanced at the others and slowly said, "But this gentleman wants to directly attack and exterminate the indigenous tribes!"
One sentence caused a huge uproar.
The other Drow Warrior stared wide-eyed, muttering, "Lord Dark Blade, didn't you tell that gentleman what's inside the native tribe? Those Spirits are incredibly difficult to deal with, and they don't have flesh and blood. We suffered heavy losses when we encountered them. With the pirates in the camp, it's practically impossible for them to defeat the Spirits unless there's a very powerful Spellcaster!"
The Drow elves also fought against the native Spirits.
However, they undoubtedly failed, both because of their own insufficient strength and because of the overwhelming number of enemies. Without the power of Wizard and priests, it would be difficult for a group of powerful melee Warrior to kill the semi-energy Spirits Hit Points.
Oh, right.
The Spirits is immune to attacks from any non- Supernatural Weapon!
If it's Spirits possessing Demigod abilities, it's immune to attacks from any Supernatural Weapon below the third tier. Its immunity is comparable to that of Demigod Lich, except it lacks the Demigod Lich's powerful physical Damage Reduction, since the Lich's body is merely a skeleton. Within the entire camp, if they encountered Demigod Spirits, aside from Soren's Legendary Scimitar, Icetail, no other weapon could harm it. One can imagine how passive these poorly equipped Drow Warrior were; facing the Spirits, they were almost completely overwhelmed.
There's often nothing that can be done in this situation.
It's like not having Dragon Slayer equipment; sometimes you can't even break through Dragon's defenses!
"I said it."
Dark Blade - Andri glanced at the others and said in a deep voice, "But that gentleman's attitude is quite resolute. And I dare not openly refuse him, after all, you know the current situation of the tribe, and offending a Pirate King is definitely not a wise choice! Fortunately, the native tribes here are much weaker than the ones we encountered, with an estimated population of only a little over a thousand. According to the natives' custom that participating in hunting makes one Warrior, there should only be about three hundred people with fighting ability!"
The Native Warrior did not participate in farming or labor; apart from regular hunting and fighting, they were entirely supported by the lower-class indigenous people.
The Drow Warrior Leader glanced at the others and slowly said, "That gentleman said he was confident in dealing with the Spirits, so our mission is to assist the pirates in dealing with those natives."
A brief silence.
A Drow Warrior looked quite old stood up and said in a deep voice, "If that gentleman can handle the Spirits, we're not afraid of those natives. Judging by the timing, it's almost time for the antelope and Horned Zebra to migrate. This is the hunting season for all the native tribes, and their meat supply for next spring depends entirely on this hunt. So they shouldn't launch an attack for the time being. Perhaps we can choose the right time to ambush them, and with luck, our casualties will be greatly reduced!"
Overseas Islands are somewhat similar to Africa.
The islands here are mostly scattered, but some are connected, as this area was once a continental shelf. The creatures of the jungle also have a habit of migrating north and south, and during these migrations, the herds are quite large; sometimes you can even encounter migrating elephants. This period is the hunting season for the indigenous tribes, and a large portion of their meat for the following year comes from here. The indigenous people use sea salt to cure and air-dry the meat, which can preserve it for a considerable time, until the fishing season in the following autumn.
The fishing season coincides with fish migrations. Sturgeon, swordfish, Striped Fish, and others migrate to warmer areas to breed each autumn, returning to more North regions the following spring. During this period, the fish populations are spectacular; you can see large numbers of fish along their migration routes with the naked eye. Simply put, you can throw in a large net and catch dozens of plump Fat Fish. And because fishermen don't hunt much, these fish are quite clumsy and can be easily speared.
In some respects, the Overseas Islands is indeed very rich in resources!
(Geography: The Overseas Islands, as a whole, form a long and narrow strip of islands, reaching the length of the continental shelf, but less than one-tenth the width. The outermost edge of the Gulf Islands extends all the way to the far North, eventually approaching the vast glaciers that stretch for thousands of miles.)
On the other side.
Soren paced back and forth in the hall, then looked up at his subordinates and ordered, "Keep an eye on the Drow. Report any unusual activity to me immediately."
"Yes." A Scarface immediately responded and left.
Just as the Drow couldn't fully trust Soren, Soren didn't completely trust them either. He had dealt with the Drow many times and knew a lot about these cunning and intelligent creatures. To control the Drow, you either needed power or profit; otherwise, they would easily betray you.
Soren closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and then said, "Not a single female Drow appeared, nor did we see any Spellcaster."
"Has the Drow race truly declined to this state, or have they still not decided to fully cooperate with me? If it's the latter, then their value is greatly reduced; a Drow race that has lost its Spellcaster heritage has no future. If it's the latter, then they still feel resentment towards me internally, and their cooperation is probably only because they have no other choice!"
"It would take immense power to completely tame them, wouldn't it?"
This Drow tribe is highly valuable; having them in Soren's plans can make things much more efficient. Furthermore, Drow are naturally suited to doing shady things; many of Soren's methods are beyond the capabilities of pirates, but these Drow are absolutely capable of them.
He must capture these Drow!
