Soul Binding
The Scimitar pierced through the enemy's body once more.
Although the Earthbound Spirit's body wasn't made of flesh and blood, slashing at it felt like piercing through jelly, with almost no impact. However, the shadow energy gathered by Shadow Assassination still affected it, and the added elemental power of the Legendary Scimitar Icetail gave it a cold, silvery-white hue. This was only because Soren's weapon wasn't high-level enough; a weapon with high-level elemental enchantments would practically take away half its life with a single strike.
"Animate Dead!"
--"Mirror Image!"
Having been struck several times by Soren and subjected to two Shadow Assassination, the Earthbound Spirit finally sensed the threat of death. A strange Spell Aura flickered in its eyes, and then its form multiplied into five, appearing in the same spot as five nearly identical figures. This was not Wizard's Minor Illusion, as Minor Illusion involve making identical movements and can only be used to confuse lower-level enemies. The Earthbound Spirit before them transformed into five completely different phantoms, almost indistinguishable at first glance.
Squeak, squeak!
A series of trembling sounds echoed inside the house.
Inside the small compartment that Soren hadn't inspected, a series of strange noises rang out, followed by the appearance of Skeleton of all shapes and sizes, with almost no Bone Skeleton of the same race. Upon awakening, their pupils emitted the soul light of the Undead, and they rushed out, attacking Soren and his companions.
"Brother, move aside!"
Vivian's voice rang out behind Soren. Upon hearing the little girl's voice, Soren immediately leaped behind him without hesitation, simultaneously kicking up a table to block his path. He sensed the scorching heat emanating from behind him. As Soren raised the table to shield himself, Vivian also unleashed a Fireball.
Rumble!
A violent explosion rang out.
The entire house shook, as if it might collapse. Don't underestimate this Fireball; after all, it's 3rd-level Spell, and when a high-level Wizard casts it, its destructive power is comparable to that of a grenade launcher!
The Cult of Five Fireballs used it to clear a path back then, even blowing up many city gates.
The heat wave from the explosion spread.
A crater appeared in the ground, and the flames ignited other items in the room. Some things that were still relatively intact burst into flames. But this was just the beginning. Without pausing after casting the first Fireball, Vivian immediately threw out a second Fireball, and then a Fireball.
By the time the little girl finished casting her Fireball, the area before her was almost completely reduced to ruins.
The Undead summoned by the Earthbound Spirit were all dead, and only two of the Illusion it created remained, both of which were almost gone.
"Harvest it!"
A glint of light flashed in Soren's eyes. He prepared to take advantage of this opportunity to eliminate the enemy and gain Slaughter Experience.
However, Vivian reached out to stop him at that moment.
"Elder brother!"
The little girl cried out urgently, "Don't kill it! I'll imprison its soul. It seems to still retain some intelligence; perhaps we can extract some information about the Wizard Tower from it!"
Soren sheathed his sword in an instant, retreating back to his original position almost brushing against the Earthbound Spirit.
Imprisoning the soul?!
This is an extremely difficult task!
Although this world possesses many supernatural powers and powerful Deity, the realm of the soul remains incredibly mysterious and unknown. Any Spell related to the soul requires at least a fifth-level spell, and any Spell that imprisons a soul requires at least Level 7 spell. Some special Soul Binding Spell even require Legendary Wizard to cast. Soren's weakened soul required a level five or higher Greater Restoration to heal, illustrating the immense power required to access the soul realm.
Vivian is capable enough.
She is currently a Legendary Sorcerer and a low-level Wizard, so she is undoubtedly very powerful.
But when did the little girl comprehend soul-type Spell?
In Soren's memory, Vivian seemed to have been sleeping most of the time lately. Occasionally she would flip through books or practice her spellcasting. She hadn't learned many Spell Scroll, so how did she suddenly learn soul-type Spell?
--"Hold Undead!"
Vivian acted very cautiously. Facing the Rage Earthbound Spirit, she used ' Hold Undead ' again. This time, the enemy did not use Saving Throw and was frozen in place.
Slap! Slap!
The little girl clapped her white hands, her expression relaxing considerably, and said in a clear voice, "Brother! It's alright now! It can't move for the time being, so we need to quickly find something it used when it was alive."
Used items?
Upon hearing this, Soren frowned, then walked towards the direction where the skeleton had been found. He searched the area thoroughly, picked up the skeleton and waved it around, finally tossing a wine bottle that looked like an iron kettle to the little girl.
He looked around carefully and asked doubtfully, "Is this okay? It was found next to his body!"
Halfling are fond of alcohol.
Just look at Aladdin's drinking capacity to know that they actually really enjoy drinking.
Vivian reached out and caught it, examined it, and then a Spell Aura appeared at her fingertips. She exclaimed happily, "It's good! It's something it used when it was alive!"
--"Soul Shackles!"
Vivian began casting the spell rapidly. This time, the Spell was quite long, taking almost half a minute, and it contained a lot of Abyssal that Soren couldn't understand at all. However, he could still see the effect of the Spell. He saw a Soul Mark appear on the bottle, and then Vivian raised her hand and pointed. Some kind of Demon power began to take effect, turning the Earthbound Spirit in front of her into Soul Form, and then absorbing it into the bottle.
"Alright!"
Vivian clapped her hands and said in a clear voice, "It's a pity I don't know the Soul Bind yet, otherwise I could easily imprison it with a gemstone."
"Elder brother!"
"We can interrogate him now."
The little girl picked up the wine jug, then snapped her fingers lightly. Immediately, a semi-transparent Soul Phantom appeared in the room. It was a Halfling with a long beard, looking blank and dazed, seemingly lacking in intelligence. After being summoned by Vivian, it stood there in a daze, then suddenly said, "Master!..."
"I was wrong! Master!... Please don't punish me!... Please!... Don't punish me!... What happened?... Where did Master go?...
"Run!... Everyone run!..."
