Goria's Gift (Part 1)
PS: "Giving more support to <Lord of the Abyss>!"
He's very good.
This statement seems to have another layer of meaning.
However, this undoubtedly represents the Eye of the North's affirmation of Soren. Although Soren remained relatively silent throughout, hardly saying a word, his willingness to follow Goria to the Astral Plane without hesitation at that moment proved many things. Some things are not said, but done. As Legendary Witch has weathered countless storms, the Eye of the North has seen many men skilled in sweet talk, but she admires most those who prove themselves through actions.
No amount of words can compare to what I've done for her.
Perhaps foolish women are easily deceived by words, but women like them see much more.
So when Goria heard this, a slight blush rose to her cheeks, and she turned to look at Soren. Initially, her impression of Soren was vague; he was merely an interesting Rogue and a loving older brother. From Soren encounter in Amber City, she hadn't really paid much attention to this man, only noticing that he was somewhat special and clearly knew more than other Rogue. What truly captured her attention was Vivian; that little girl was the key to her interest.
But.
As time passed little by little.
More and more things about Soren attracted her. She hadn't expected a Rogue to possess such extensive knowledge, nor had she anticipated his rapid growth. Soren's rate of improvement far exceeded her expectations, which greatly piqued her interest, and she secretly observed him. On another front, the relationship between Soren and Vivian filled her with envy. As Northern Witch, she rarely experienced familial affection, so Vivian, to some extent, awakened her maternal instincts.
In fact.
Before encountering the followers of the God of Hunt, Soren was merely an interesting person to her.
As a noble Northern Witch, she couldn't possibly fall for a man so easily. But all that changed when she encountered the followers of the God of Hunt. In that situation, Soren didn't hesitate to choose to fight for their lives, even if it meant risking his own death at the hands of those hunters.
Die!
People are under a lot of tension when facing death, and it's easy for them to influence others at that moment.
That moment.
In Soren's eyes Goria saw the courage to face death. In that instant, the impression Soren left on her was completely different. The man's figure rose higher and higher, finally settling on the image of him, covered in blood, charging towards the hunter. He was facing death so that they could leave safely. Although it was mostly for that lovely little girl, Goria, as one of them, also remembered everything in her heart, remembered that moment of courage and protection.
Time passed by like this.
Goria remembered this man, and would even think of him and worry about his safety. She was even willing to use Divination Spell, which came at a price, for this.
Some emotions are like they're brewing.
Although they had spent less time together since their reunion, and he seemed to be constantly busy with Vivian's affairs, Goria had deeply remembered this man, and even felt joy upon seeing him again. Sometimes, she even thought that if he treated her with half the kindness he showed Vivian, then marrying him might be a good idea. After all, as a noble and powerful Northern Witch, she didn't have many men to choose from; ordinary people were simply not worthy of her, and Legendary figures whose strength and status were comparable to hers were few and far between.
She didn't want to end up like her mother, having a child with just any man.
Although Goria knew her father was also a powerful Wizard, she had actually seen him very few times. This was because her mother was with him only to produce more superior offspring.
Wizard can be this rational and ruthless at times!
As the Northern Witch Goria knew she absolutely could not act impulsively, because Spellcaster needed to be calm and precise. However, when facing this man, she seemed to have an impulse within her.
so.
When she saw Soren again, she subconsciously dressed up a little.
If nothing else had happened, some emotions would have continued to develop, perhaps accumulating until they erupted at a certain moment, or perhaps settling down with time. But a little unexpected thing happened. When the Githyanki's attack reached the Material Plane, and Soren chose to go to the Astral Plane with her without hesitation, Goria's pent-up emotions exploded. Although she didn't seem to change much on the surface, no one knew that her heart was trembling.
This time, it wasn't for Vivian, but for himself.
Wizard Tower.
After returning, Soren was shown a large room by Goria. The Extraplanar battle had exhausted not only his body but also Soren highly tense nerves. So he prepared to rest for a while after returning to his room. However, he was somewhat surprised to find that the room was decorated too nicely, looking like Goria's boudoir.
The floor was covered with a soft velvet carpet, and the walls were adorned with exquisite bas-reliefs. Directly opposite, near the window, stood a dressing table that appeared to be made of some incredibly expensive purple wood. The entire room was filled with a faint, delicate fragrance, exactly the same scent Goria carried. The large, soft bed could easily fit ten or so people. Soren remembered Vivian mentioning that Goria's bed was very large because she liked to sleep in it. The discovery before him made Soren's heart race, and he felt a sudden dryness in his mouth.
He felt hot all over, his skin was slightly flushed, and even his breathing seemed a little rapid.
Clatter
Soren gently opened the wardrobe and, sure enough, found smooth, form-fitting women's pajamas, along with rows of Witch Robe, and in the corner were several women's belts. There was no doubt that this was Goria's room, because everything Soren saw told him that Goria usually slept in this room.
Heavy footsteps sounded.
Soren took a slight step back, then closed the wardrobe. As he reached the door, the Steel Golem's deep voice rang out from outside. "Your Excellency, my master has instructed me to take you to bathe."
Please come with me.
Hearing the sound outside the door, Soren suddenly felt sticky all over. Just now, his whole body had been hot, and he seemed to have sweated a lot. He didn't know if it was a side effect of the Dragon Blood Baptism or something else. Soren felt that something was wrong with his current state. In traditional Chinese medicine terms, it should be called 'excessive yang', and it might really be because of the Dragon Blood Baptism.
Too much of a good thing is bad.
If the medicinal properties exceed a certain level, they will become toxic.
