Church of Radiance
Slurp!
An arrow flew out from the front.
Soren's ears twitched slightly, and his brows furrowed. In an instant, he moved with lightning speed, catching the arrow with his bare hands amidst the disbelief on his opponent's face.
Catching an arrow with bare hands!
The surroundings were deathly silent, and the Rogue had just fired an arrow couldn't help but gape.
He had just seen the Paladin stunned by Soren's attack, and without thinking twice, he fired an arrow to avoid the enemy. However, he did not expect this result: the enemy was able to catch the arrow with his bare hands.
Almost instantly.
The Adventurer party in front of them realized that even all of them combined might not be a match for this man.
Soren stared at the group of people before him.
A Paladin, a priest, a Rogue, a Ranger, and the last one is dressed in robes so it's hard to tell, but he's highly likely to be a Spellcaster, either Wizard or Sorcerer.
This is a standard adventure team!
Paladin and Ranger replaced Warrior and Barbarian; the Rogue seemed to be a veteran, his reflexes being the fastest of all.
This adventure team configuration is sufficient to handle the vast majority of situations.
The Young Female Cleric's expression changed rapidly. At first, it was worry and surprise, then doubt and contemplation, and then a look of shock appeared on her face.
Because she recognized Soren in front of her!
Six months.
Soren's appearance didn't change much; what truly changed was his aura, transforming him from a down-on-his-luck thief in Amber City into the most powerful Pirate King on the South Coast.
The changes that have occurred to him have completely transformed his aura!
"You!..."
The Young Female Cleric took a step forward in surprise, but the Rogue beside her quickly pulled her back. Anylia, still with an expression of disbelief, murmured, "You're Soren?!..."
know?
Upon hearing the Young Female Cleric call out Soren's name, the others immediately breathed a sigh of relief.
Because the man before them was undoubtedly unbeatable.
If they knew each other, they might have been able to avoid this battle. Although they hadn't fought yet, the rest of the Adventurer's party was already drenched in cold sweat. Soren had ended countless Hit Points along his journey, and this palpable killing intent was something Adventurer of their level couldn't withstand. Not to mention Soren's Divinity bestowed Fear Gaze. Anyone with a slightly weaker will might have been paralyzed with fear.
Clang!
Soren sheathed his Scimitar, his gaze falling on the Young Female Cleric before him. He nodded slightly and said, "Long time no see!"
"You!..."
The Young Female Cleric's expression was complicated as she slowly said, "You're not dead! That's wonderful! After what happened that day, I was so worried about you and Vivian's safety. But when I went to the Slums the next day, it was already in ruins. I searched for a long time but couldn't find any trace of you."
"How is Vivian?"
Soren's expression softened slightly, and he said softly, "Vivian is alright. We left Amber City a day early."
The Young Female Cleric looked on with confusion.
She seemed to have many questions in her mind, such as why Soren was here, and how his strength had increased to such an extent in just over half a year. After all, after the major events in Amber City, she had also put in many times more effort to finally advance to become a third-tier priest, but now it seemed that she might not even be able to last a round against Soren.
Soren didn't say much.
He glanced at the rest of the Adventurer party and said in a deep voice, "Are you here because you're passing through on another mission, or are you here specifically to investigate the Eyeless?"
silence.
Faced with Soren's question, the others fell silent. The Young Female Cleric hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and said, "We've received a mission to investigate their identities! Are they called the Eyeless? Do you know who they are?"
You don't even know the situation of the Eyeless?
Upon hearing this, Soren shook his head, unsure whether they were simply too reckless or eager to die. He said in a deep voice, "If you truly want to investigate the Eyeless, I suggest you go back now and have your superiors send high-level professionals. With your current strength, it's fine if you can't find them, but if you do, I'm afraid none of you will return alive!"
Is this alarmist?
Or is it really true?
Soren's words caused everyone else's expressions to turn serious. The Ranger and Rogue beside him exchanged a glance, then bowed slightly and said, "Sir! Are you aware of their situation? These people have already harmed many ordinary people, and recently some members of the Church have been investigating them."
Given Soren's strength...
Regardless of whether they are good or evil, they deserve to be addressed as "Your Excellency" with respect.
Soren glanced down at the unconscious Paladin, pondered for a moment, and said, "The Eyeless. An organization that worships an Evil God. They like to gouge out the eyes of their enemies after killing them, and even more so, they gouge out the eyes of living people directly during Sacrificial Ritual. I'm not sure what level of followers they have, but I know that there are two Legendary Professional among them."
"With your strength, you're simply going to your deaths."
silence.
The Young Female Cleric's expression was somewhat stiff as she slowly said, "But the Church can no longer mobilize any more Vampire. The Vampire have been behaving strangely lately, and all the high-ranking priests have been sent out to deal with them."
Vampire?
Could it be related to the Vampire God Child?
Soren frowned slightly upon hearing this and said in a deep voice, "Has anything unusual happened with the Vampire lately?"
The Young Female Cleric hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Many Vampire Servant have appeared in both the south and the north. We suspect that a Vampire Church is continuously turning ordinary people into Vampire. Recently, the priests of the Lord of Radiance have been gathering manpower. The spread of Vampire greatly threatens the Hit Points of ordinary people, and all the high-ranking members of the Church have been sent out to deal with them."
It really looks like Reinhard, the Vampire God Child!
As the Fear God Child ascended to godhood through the Portfolio of Vampire, he needs a sufficient number of followers in order to expand his Divine Power.
Ordinary people cannot become his followers.
His core Portfolio is that of the Lord of Vampire, which greatly limits the scope of his followers. Therefore, if he wants to expand his faith, he must convert others into Vampire. However, if the number of Vampire becomes too large, it will threaten ordinary people. After all, the Vampire ' food source is self-evident, and too many Vampire Servant would be a disaster for ordinary people. This matter will inevitably attract the attention of the Lord of Radiance, and the Young Female Cleric, as a follower of the Light of Dawn, often needs to cooperate with the Lord of Radiance's Church.
Because the Light of Dawn is one of the Deity in the Radiant Pantheon!
Should we help her?
Soren fell into deep thought. He was fairly confident in dealing with the Eyeless, but he didn't particularly like dealing with Paladin, and others might not trust him either.
However, helping them eliminate the Eyeless Church of Radiance allow them to concentrate their efforts on dealing with the Vampire God Child.
As a core force of the Good Alignment.
They would absolutely not allow Vampire to spread, meaning the Church of Radiance and the Vampire God Child are even more antagonistic, making reconciliation virtually impossible.
The Vampire God Child is Soren's greatest enemy at present.
As the biggest Pirate King on the South Coast, he might not be his match now, since the other has already achieved godhood.
Soren doesn't like owing favors to others.
So after thinking for a moment, he said in a deep voice, "Come with me. I'll help you track them down!"
After saying that, he turned and walked in one direction.
The Adventurer party behind him exchanged visibly surprised glances, then turned their attention to the Young Female Cleric. Upon seeing her nod, they immediately stepped forward to help the unconscious Paladin to his feet, before quickly catching up with Soren.
A Rogue appears to be of Legendary Tier.
With this gentleman's help, their chances of defeating the Eyeless would undoubtedly be greatly increased.
Soren's tracking ability has always been strong. He generally receives a small boost to his basic skills after each battle. However, because these boosts are rather scattered, he doesn't pay much attention to the one or two points increase in his basic skills, and therefore doesn't need to focus on them too much. (Note: The one or two points of basic skill improvement after each battle are not specifically listed.)
Currently, his overall basic skills have all improved by twenty or thirty points compared to the past, with more significant improvements in Wilderness Survival, Search, Intimidation, and Listen.
Soren was very fast in tracking him.
The Adventurer party behind them could only wake the Paladin and then quickly caught up.
A commotion arose behind him; it seemed the awakened Paladin was still stubbornly determined to destroy Evil. Soren had no interest in such matters, but if the other party dared to come forward again, he would show no mercy.
The day passed just like that.
Soren sped forward along the trail left behind, with the Adventurer party following closely behind. The Paladin seemed to be very hostile towards him, but there was still a hint of fear in his eyes because he had been knocked down by Soren in one move.
If war really breaks out.
They estimated they wouldn't last more than a few minutes against Soren.
the next day.
Soren's trail became increasingly clear. The Eyeless were clearly a large group, probably more than ten people, so the traces they left behind were also quite obvious.
They followed the Eyeless all the way to a place in the North called the Witherleaf Town.
As they approached the town, the traces left by the Eyeless in the wilderness faded considerably, but based on Soren's intuition, he judged that the Eyeless must have entered the town.
"This is it!"
He stopped, turned around and glanced at the others, then said in a deep voice, "The Eyeless should be inside. Your targets are too obvious."
"Split up and act in pairs."
