Vampire Church
A cemetery lies on the side of the Witherleaf Town.
In this era, remote towns rarely placed cemeteries too far away, somewhat similar to Eastern burial practices, where graves were concentrated near settlements. Normally, passersby wouldn't pay much attention to cemeteries, but Rogue, often serving as scouts for Adventurer groups, naturally possessed much better observation skills. This experienced Rogue glanced around and noticed something amiss with some of the graves; the soil looked freshly turned.
"It must have happened a few days ago."
The Ranger picked up a handful of soil, examined it, and even pulled out the weeds that had originally grown on the graves. With a solemn expression, he said, "At most seven days ago, someone dug up these graves, and the tombstones were all put up later."
Has someone disturbed the grave?
This discovery caused everyone present to become serious. The Spellcaster had remained silent throughout, observed his surroundings, then cast a detection-like Spell before speaking, "It wasn't done by Necromancer. There's no sign of the Undead nearby, and this cemetery has been blessed by priests, so Undead wouldn't automatically spawn here."
The Paladin's expression was somewhat angry, and he said in a deep voice, "Who could have done that? Desecrating the dead is a very serious sin!"
Conventional society generally holds the deceased in high regard.
Generally, once a person is laid to rest, they should not be disturbed. The current practice is strictly prohibited by most laws.
"We'll know once we open it!" the Rogue said solemnly.
The four people present exchanged glances upon hearing this. The Paladin looked somewhat hesitant, but in the end, they nodded.
There's something strange about the cemetery.
Soon, they dug open one of the disturbed graves and discovered that the coffin inside was empty.
"Dark Creature."
The Ranger sniffed the air and said in a deep voice, "This nauseating stench is definitely from Dark Creature. I have a very clear memory of my hatred for them!"
The Rogue observed the grave and slowly said, "It could be Vampire."
"Perhaps this place has also been infiltrated by the Vampire Church."
Soren is unaware of the situation at the cemetery.
However, finding the Vampire was much easier for him than finding these people. As darkness fell, he quietly entered the tavern.
The tavern was bustling with activity.
Beside the bar stood a rather down-on-his-luck Bard. Although Bard were a profession, many didn't fare very well because the job was too versatile. Very few Bard became truly powerful. Those like the Hell Poet were purely exceptions; most Bard, like the one before him, earned their living by performing for others. Occasionally, a good-looking Bard might even manage to hook up with a wealthy woman, thus earning some extra money.
Third-rate spellcasting ability, third-rate combat ability, third-rate Rogue skills.
These together constitute the Bard.
There have been some powerful Bard in the past, but for this profession to become truly powerful, the necessary support is incredibly strong attributes. Even Soren's current attributes might not be enough to support a Bard excels in all aspects. Bard who could achieve this in the past generally had special encounters or received Deity assistance. There used to be a view that only those who had all their initial attributes reach 18 points could become top-tier Bard.
If the initial attributes are this powerful, then one would be a top-tier Spellcaster, a top-tier Warrior, and a top-tier Rogue.
Unfortunately, there are too few people like that.
Moreover, regardless of which class you advance to, you'll always be at the top level. Keep in mind that Soren's initial stats weren't even that high.
The Bard is telling a story in a unique North singing style. The protagonist of the story is named Soren. That's right. He is telling the story of the great battle between Soren and the Pirate King Asroder. This is the largest naval battle on the South Coast in decades, and it is spreading rapidly in all directions. More and more ordinary people have heard about this great battle.
but.
The Bard's account had nothing to do with the battle itself. In his words, the battle was more like a duel between nobles.
Soren and Asroder fought for three hundred rounds.
Ultimately, the even more Evil Headhunter, Soren, killed the Pirate King Asroder, thus pleasing the Cruelty Goddess of the Sea.
That's roughly the story.
The story focuses on the great battle between Soren and Asroder, how they fought back and forth, and how Soren, the Headhunter, ultimately exploited an opening to kill another Pirate King.
Most of the stories about Bard are unreliable, but this artistic form of expression undoubtedly attracts the attention of others.
Soren was slightly taken aback.
It's a little strange to be the protagonist of a story, especially since the other party claims he's weaker than Asroder and will ultimately need to use strategy to defeat him.
Soren's target soon became apparent.
As darkness fell, two somewhat furtive figures went out.
He quietly rose and disappeared into the shadows, then followed behind them. The two newly minted Vampire Servant neither noticed him nor could they have discovered Soren's whereabouts.
They crossed the street and arrived at a rather luxurious mansion.
Noble!
The ruler of Witherleaf Town appears to be a lord whose name Soren cannot recall.
Two Vampire entered through the back door. Since it wasn't convenient for Soren to follow them directly, he could only wait until they went inside before quietly climbing over the wall into the courtyard.
The aura of Dark Creature.
As soon as Soren entered, he sensed the presence of Dark Creature; it seemed there were hardly any living people left in this mansion.
"As expected, there was a problem here."
With a serious expression, he crept in, thinking to himself, "No wonder no one noticed the Vampire lurking here; it seems the nobles who rule this place have been corrupted by them."
With the upper-class nobles concealing the Truth, even if signs of the Vampire spread appear, they can temporarily cover it up.
The North is the territory of Witch.
Such a remote place falls into their blind spot of management, and the temple's power is quite weak.
They must be eliminated!
Soren frowned and listened intently for a moment, then quietly approached the hall. The power of the Vampire God Child could not be expanded any further; this matter had to be reported to the Witches' Council.
They probably wouldn't want a large number of Vampire to appear in their territory!
Clatter
Very light footsteps.
Just after Soren entered the mansion, another figure followed closely behind. However, this figure was somewhat unusual, as his eyes were covered with bandages.
His eye sockets were slightly sunken, as if there were no two eyeballs inside!
