Elemental Crystal [Water]
Gushes of blood gushed out.
Soren stood there expressionless, but his mind was far from relaxed.
The Demigod Ice Genie seemed unsurprised by this outcome, and continued in a low voice, "The enemy before you poses no danger, but as you venture deeper into the dungeon, strange noises suddenly emanate from the ground, followed by a hail of arrows flying towards you."
It seems you've triggered something.
As soon as it finished speaking, it raised its hand and waved it, and suddenly the ice blocks on all sides turned into a sky full of ice arrows, which attacked Soren directly.
Clang!
Another Scimitar appeared in Soren's palm. His twin blades transformed into a shower of light, deflecting the ice arrows attacking from all directions. Simultaneously, he rolled back three meters, shielding his chest with his blades, and warily watched the Demigod Ice Genie before him. The opponent's Spell attack had come without any warning; Demigod was indeed unlike any enemy he had ever encountered. The realm of Deity had its own rules, and the ice arrows were entirely an impromptu Spell.
"You dodged the trap with impressive skill."
Kalonagus looked up at the sky, his expression seemingly changing slightly, before continuing in a deep voice, "You found the person you were looking for in a cell of one of the dungeons. But at that moment, a deafening rumble erupted from within the dungeon. It seems you triggered a mechanism when you opened the cell door. Now the entire dungeon is about to collapse, with molten Magma gushing from the ground, its scorching heat enveloping the dungeon. It could be swallowed up by the erupting lava at any moment."
The ground around them shook.
The frozen ice gradually cracked, and the entire valley seemed to tremble, as if something terrible was about to happen.
A glint of Divinity appeared in the eyes of the Demigod Ice Genie. It gazed at Soren before it, its smile suddenly turning sinister, and said in a low voice, "Just then, the Devil that first appeared suddenly materialized and stands before you."
Kalonagus's figure seemed to contort.
As if it were an unreal body not made of matter, it smiled eerily and said, "I can open a Portal for you to leave this place. But this Portal can only allow one person to leave. The other person will be buried."
Who would you choose to let leave?
Rumble.
The mountains on all sides of the valley began to collapse, and ice and snow rushed down like a torrent. The rock structure of the mountains gradually cracked, as if by Earthquake. Huge rocks began to fall from the cliffs around the valley. It was estimated that it would not be long before the entire valley was buried by the falling boulders.
A Portal of light appeared.
A deep blue Portal appeared before Soren. The Demigod Ice Genie stared at him with a sinister smile.
It was as if they were waiting for Soren's answer.
Soren frowned, carefully dodging a boulder that fell from the sky. The boulder smashed into the ground, creating a crater; such force would have severely injured him even if he had been hit. He wanted to leave, but he sensed that the Demigod Ice Genie had locked onto his body. The giant awaited his answer, its smile appearing as sinister as Devil's.
"I stayed!"
Soren slowly drew his Scimitar, his muscles tense, ready for battle at any moment. He said in a deep voice, "I will choose to stay."
Rumble!
The earth gradually cracked. Nearby mountains collapsed, and a boulder more than ten meters in diameter fell from the sky.
The Demigod Ice Genie gazed at Soren, then smiled knowingly and said, "Very well. You have passed my test. Mortal! Farewell! I hope we can meet again someday."
Kalonagus's figure gradually disappeared.
But the dramatic changes around them did not stop; boulders fell one after another, and collapsing mountains were about to bury the place.
Soren took a deep breath.
He swiftly cast Spell, and with the aid of Fly, he soared into the air. Just as he reached mid-air, the valley before him was already buried under ice and rocks. The entire valley was now ruins, and nearly half of the nearby mountains had collapsed. If he hadn't Fly, he likely wouldn't have been able to escape and would have been buried under the rocks and snow. The original Elemental Altar had completely vanished; the Elemental Energy here seemed to have changed, and the aura of Ice Elemental had completely disappeared.
The Demigod Ice Genie vanished without a trace.
It's unclear whether they've returned to the Elemental Plane or traveled to another world.
Soren's figure hovered in mid-air for a moment before flying eastward. The collapsing mountain buried everything behind him, and it was likely that Ice Elemental would never appear here again. His intuition told him that there might have been a Magic Circle beneath this valley, but it should now be completely destroyed. He didn't care where the unsealed Demigod Ice Genie went, because with the coming of the Time of Troubles, creatures of this level would become increasingly common. However, for some reason, he felt that this Demigod Djinni was a bit strange, seemingly different from the Elemental Genie he remembered. Perhaps this was the reason it was sealed.
Soren did not linger there; he headed directly towards the Eastern Desert.
He didn't have much time left, because according to his memory of the progress, if nothing major changed, important news would soon come from the Underdark.
He received the message near the Misty Forest, around April.
The Deity have appeared!
One of the first Deity to fall to earth appeared in the Underdark and ultimately died there. (Note: For details, please refer back to the chapters near White Horse City, which mention the Deity who fell to earth at that time.)
Three days passed quickly.
Soren traversed the Snowfield and once again left the frigid land of Icewind Dale.
He didn't head to the Elf territory because he'd recently heard that the Elven Realm was rather unstable. The Druid Church seemed to be in a fierce conflict with the Elven Pantheon, leading to discontent among many Legendary Druid towards the Elf Royal Family. The druid organization's recent actions had been rather unusual; those with a keen eye could sense they were plotting something. However, because druid territory was difficult to infiltrate, no concrete information had yet returned. (Note: For details, please refer back to the chapter near the Elemental Crystal [Earth].)
Soren would naturally pay close attention to these messages.
Night fell.
Soren arrived at a place called Blackwater Town near the Misty Forest. It was rich in coal resources, and since it was an open-pit mine, it was much more prosperous than other towns. He had been here before, but by then it had fallen into ruin. Due to excessive mining and deforestation, the people near Blackwater Town had offended a powerful group of natural Hit Points. However, Blackwater Town was still thriving, with many caravans coming and going, and a population exceeding ten thousand households.
There are some supernatural Hit Points in the Misty Forest.
Among them were beings that even Soren dared not easily provoke, so he was merely passing through.
The hotel was very lively.
However, this place is already in the heart of the continent, so there is basically no news from the South Coast, nor can we hear about major events happening in the Land of Ice and Snow.
The talk of the town was still about White Horse City White Horse City. It was said that the City Lord had drawn the legendary Dragon-Slaying Sword, preparing to gather an army and powerful Adventurer to slay the lurking Red Dragon. The incredibly cunning Ancient Red Dragon had yet to reveal its identity, Soren knew the Destiny of the White Horse City Lord almost without a second thought. He could only hope that this time things wouldn't go too awry, and that White Horse City wouldn't decline so quickly. Because the decline of White Horse City meant the surrounding environment would begin to deteriorate, and other races would gradually launch attacks on humanity.
Humans have a greedy nature.
If they are powerful enough, other races will naturally have no choice but to retreat, but once they decline, hatred and desire will reignite the flames of war.
Soren sat in the room, deep in thought, toying with the Elemental Crystal [Water] in his hand.
Item type: Elemental Crystal [Water]
Item Tier: [Tier 1 Legendary Item]
Item Description: A special treasure from the Elemental Plane of Water, formed from the essence of the Water Elemental into a crystal, imbued with special magic. When activated, it can unleash powerful Spell. It does not appear to be a standalone item; the patterns on its edges suggest it was once part of another object.
Equipment requirements: None.
Special effects: Summon Water Elemental (once every 7 days), Ice Storm (once every 3 days).
Compared to the Elemental Crystal [Earth], this Elemental Crystal [Water] is less practical.
It summons Water Elemental, which are significantly weaker than Earth Elemental and slower than Air Elemental, but their combat power in the sea is astonishing. Of the four elemental Hit Points, Fire Elemental are the most practical, as they are essentially a burning flame that can damage enemies simply by moving around, having an overwhelming effect on many weaker foes. As for the accompanying Spell ' Ice Storm,' it is an area-of-effect damage Spell, not as powerful as Soren's more commonly used ' Stoneskin,' but it still has some useful applications.
"Ice Storm [Level 4 Spell]: Summons Ice Storm that deals area damage to enemies within 20-40 meters, inflicting 18 blunt damage and 12 Cold Damage on enemies within the area. Enemies within the area also suffer a -4 Listen reduction and a movement speed reduction, the extent of which is determined by the enemy's Constitution."
This Spell's damage is even less than a third-level Fireball.
However, it also has an advantage: it can freeze enemies and affect their movement speed, making it a relatively common Spell.
(P. S.: There will be one more update today.) (To be continued~^~)
