After allocating all his points, Soren began cleaning up the battlefield. There was basically nothing good on the kobolds, so after rummaging through them casually, he started looking for boxes. These creatures liked to hide the good things they collected, mostly near their gathering places. Since they were small, only about a meter tall, kobolds generally did not carry much loot on them. He first searched the Kobold Sorcerer's corpse and found a few miscellaneous items, but unfortunately, they were all worthless junk.
Then Soren began observing the surrounding area and quickly spotted a somewhat unusual stone.

He drew his scimitar and began digging, then directly pried up the stone. Sure enough, he found a wooden box buried beneath it. It looked extremely crude, but it felt heavy when he picked it up. He smashed it open with the hilt of his blade and glanced inside. It was packed full of Gold Sand. He had not expected this group of kobolds to be so well-off.
Gold Sand was an unrefined golden ore—essentially gold with very low purity.
It could be exchanged for Gold Dalers at the temples of the Goddess of Wealth. Most priests of the Goddess of Wealth accepted this kind of work, and their rates were fairly reasonable. Soren reached into the Gold Sand and felt around, finding an agate, a small piece of Obsidian, three pieces of opal, and one or two stones he could not identify. Kobolds had a talent for mining and liked to live in caves. Even kobolds in the wilderness occasionally found good things in mountain caves out in the wild. If they defeated some creature, their low-grade Dragonkind bloodline would also instinctively drive them to collect shiny objects.
