Ancient God Stone Statue Ruins

Before long, Qing Wan in the Magic Mirror began moving.

She continued onward.

Through the faint light, they could make out what seemed to be a Secret Passage.

The Secret Passage was not particularly wide, but it could fit four or five people walking abreast. Torches hung on the walls on both sides.

However, the torches were spaced rather far apart—almost one torch every hundred meters.

This also made the image displayed by the Magic Mirror extremely dim.

Neither Helles nor Yakelis knew where this Secret Passage was. Judging by its architectural style, it seemed utterly out of place with Ten Thousand Stars.

After all, most buildings in Ten Thousand Stars were predominantly silver and gray.

Had Qing Wan gone to another planet? Yakelis guessed that only other life planets would have such architectural styles.

Only other planets would be places they knew nothing about.

After all, Yakelis and Helles were both True Gods of the Second Universe and did not live in the Seventh Universe.

Even within the Second Universe, there were many places they had never explored. Speaking only of life planets, there were countless ones they had never visited or learned about.

The Seventh Universe was even more so. Forget understanding much about it—being able to accurately avoid figures of the same level was already a great blessing.

Over the years of searching for Chen Tian, what they feared most was encountering experts at or above the True God level from the Seventh Universe.

They no longer belonged to the ranks of the Seventy-Two Demon Gods of the Second Universe. Having lost their Master's protection was equivalent to losing the protection of the Second Universe.

If the Seventh Universe discovered them, a battle would inevitably break out.

Though they were proud, they were not blindly confident enough to disregard opponents of the same level from other universes.

Besides, if a battle broke out, it would not merely involve True Gods. Even Venerable God-level experts might appear! Meanwhile, Qing Wan in the Magic Mirror had already walked out of the Secret Passage.

She then summoned a streak of flowing light, which formed an array ahead of her.

In the next instant, she stepped into it. The Magic Mirror's image shifted, and Qing Wan arrived at an ancient site littered with shattered stone statues.

Helles fixed his gaze on them and recognized their origin.

They were actually Ancient God Stone Statues!

Yakelis was also drawn in by the sight before her.

Qing Wan had gone to the ruins of the Ancient God Stone Statues—what could that possibly mean? Qing Wan's series of actions left Yakelis and Helles increasingly confused. Why had she gone to such a place? Yakelis knew very well what Ancient Gods represented.

They were experts capable of standing shoulder to shoulder with God Kings! Yet within the Great Cultivation Method system, there was no place for Ancient Gods.

Or rather, Ancient Gods were merely something someone had created on their own.

They were not recognized.

God Kings were the only truth!

This was a fact known to all.

After Qing Wan arrived at the Ancient God Stone Statue Ruins, a gust of wild sand swept past, and the Magic Mirror began shaking violently! Not understanding what had gone wrong, Helles merely poured his power into it and stabilized the Sacrificial Altar.

Yet in the end, he still failed to fully control the Sacrificial Altar. The Magic Mirror continued its difficult probing, but some force within the Ancient God Ruins seemed to be constantly obstructing it.

After a while, cracks began appearing in the Magic Mirror's image.

Yet they could still see what Qing Wan was doing.

Suddenly, within the damaged image, Qing Wan was restrained by some force within the Ancient God Ruins!

It was then that she crushed the Protective Item Yakelis had given her.

Countless streams of power surged out from the Protective Item!

The two forces collided continuously, and the Magic Mirror's image began flickering in and out.

Finally, beneath the collision of the two forces, a massive explosion swallowed the entire image.

The Magic Mirror also shut down at that moment. It could no longer continue probing. When the probing ended, a wisp of white smoke rose from the Sacrificial Altar, and even the Magic Mirror had gained an almost imperceptible crack!

Helles said nothing. After taking one glance, he put away the Magic Mirror and the Sacrificial Altar.

This was the last place Qing Wan had appeared.

Yakelis immediately wanted to head to the Ancient God Ruins. She could not rest easy over Qing Wan's safety.

Helles had originally wanted to go with her, but he reached out and stopped Yakelis.

"Why are you stopping me?" Yakelis asked in confusion.

After thinking for a moment, Helles said, "We cannot defy the Master's orders. Protecting Madam is our foremost duty."

"But Madam told us to find the Master first. Can you understand that?"

Yakelis fell into thought, pondering Qing Wan's final words.

Helles continued, "Madam clearly knows that we are the Master's servants. Since the Master ordered the two of us to protect her, we would surely follow her unto death. Yet Madam still told us to search for the Master."

"I guess that Madam may have her own concerns and worries. There are some matters she needs to resolve alone and does not want us to know about."

Yakelis suddenly understood. "That is why she told us to find the Master as quickly as possible and protect him!"

"That's right!"

Only through their back-and-forth exchange did the two of them roughly sort out the matter.

"Besides, we have searched for the Master for many years, yet only that faint connection, which has never been severed, remains."

Helles said with certainty, "Over these years, Madam only used that Protective Item now. I think she merely borrowed its power to offset the Ancient God Ruins—"

This was only their speculation. Though they were not one hundred percent certain, they at least understood the general situation.

Since Qing Wan had chosen to go alone, she must have had a secret she could not let the two of them know.

Otherwise, who would refuse two True God-level bodyguards? Even if she were strong enough herself, she could still use two True Gods as hired muscle! Yet Qing Wan had given it all up, so that had to be the reason! Yakelis thought it over and felt that perhaps it was true.

Master Chen Tian was so powerful that the woman by his side surely could not be weak. Otherwise, why would he keep her at his side? Would that not be a walking troublemaker? Using the Protective Item did not necessarily mean she had encountered trouble. Perhaps she simply needed a weapon at that moment, and the Protective Item happened to be available.

Thinking of it this way, the stone in Yakelis's heart finally fell to the ground.

Though they still did not know where Qing Wan was going or what she intended to do at the Ancient God Ruins, knowing that she was safe would make it easier to answer to Chen Tian.

After learning Qing Wan's whereabouts, the two continued on their journey to find Chen Tian.

Not long ago, some small Demonic Beasts Helles had sent out returned.

They brought back news that stirred their hearts with excitement.

From those small Demonic Beasts, he learned that in another direction, someone had encountered a corpse floating through the universe—and it was male! There was also news that someone had seen a humanoid object fall from the sky and crash onto a certain life planet.

Helles told Yakelis the news, and the two hurried toward the direction from which the information had come. They had to inspect them one by one!
