Background / History

Theresica was formerly an ordinary person who arrived in Terra after becoming stuck in a game’s recruitment tutorial. He awakened in the body of a Sarkaz royal: the younger brother of Empress Theresia and cousin of Regent Theresis. Raised in comfort, he spent his early life secluded in a mansion, playing games and avoiding politics while Kal'tsit served as his tutor. 1

Kazdel’s civil war began in 1068, pitting Theresia and Theresis against one another. Theresica refused to involve himself until he learned that Theresia had been killed and Theresis had vanished. As Theresia’s only direct blood relative, he was pressed by the Royal Court to assume authority. 1

His perspective changed after he saw Kazdel’s war-torn streets and encountered Sarkaz children who could speak Columbian but not their own language. Believing that “it shouldn’t be like this,” he chose to enter the Royal Court and take responsibility for reforming Kazdel. 2

Personality

Theresica begins as a self-described freeloader who avoids socializing, leadership, and danger. He initially believes he lacks both the ability and desire to bear the consequences of ruling. 1

Witnessing the deprivation of ordinary Sarkaz makes him increasingly purposeful. He repeatedly prioritizes education, food security, medical care, industrial development, and the preservation of Sarkaz culture, even when those policies require politically risky decisions. 2 3 10

He is curious and open-minded toward unfamiliar knowledge, particularly technology, medicine, industry, and space exploration. His experience and education from Earth shape many of his ideas, though he deliberately avoids directing researchers’ technical work when he lacks expertise. 15 36 39

Despite his empathy, Theresica can be calculating and severe. He uses covert intelligence gathering, memory extraction from corpses, censorship and secrecy around Kazdel’s medical progress, and forceful acquisitions when he considers them necessary for Kazdel’s survival. 18 35 37

Abilities & Skills

Originium Arts

Theresica can alter temperature and manipulate moisture in an area.

  • Created superheated mist that destroyed a Seaborn’s tentacles. 22
  • Lowered Gladiia’s body temperature and condensed water around her to make combat on land more suitable for her. 22
  • Maintained a water curtain around a Seaborn, allowing Gladiia to attack faster than its regeneration could recover. 22
  • Warfarin cautions him against overusing his Arts; his blood tests show no worsening Originium content at that time. 22

Structural Analysis

Following his succession ceremony, Theresica develops an unusual intuitive sense for an object’s structural weaknesses and strongest points.

  • Can identify where an object can be broken with the least force. 5
  • Can identify sturdier points suitable for striking others. 5
  • His perception fails to identify obvious vulnerable points on Gladiia, whose physical strength he considers exceptional. 20

Statecraft and Reform

Theresica governs through long-term institutional and material development rather than relying solely on military force.

  • Ordered a universal Sarkaz registry and compulsory unified education for children aged six to twelve. 3 10
  • Established food-management, education, health, archival, and planning institutions. 10 12 31
  • Centralized Kazdel’s authority and created new departments for national administration. 14 49
  • Recruited foreign researchers, teachers, engineers, and students to address Kazdel’s technological deficit. 15 16 36

Diplomacy

Theresica uses trade, technology exchange, and negotiated security arrangements to expand Kazdel’s position.

  • Secured grain and medicine from Siracusa in exchange for weapons, armor, and Originium. 11
  • Signed the Eden Accord with Laterano, ending hostility between the Sarkaz and Sankta. 14
  • Negotiated commercial agreements with Ursus and later reached peace terms with Kazimierz. 17 31
  • Obtained Iberian transport-ship technology and technical workers in exchange for discretion over the Seaborn crisis. 21

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Arts control unit — Small staff-like device used to direct his temperature-based Originium Arts. 22
  • Camera — Used while travelling through Victoria and gathering observations on foreign industry. 6
  • Game console — An Eastern specialty product used throughout his secluded early life. 1

Relationships

  • Theresia — Elder sister and Empress of the Sarkaz; her death forces Theresica to confront succession and leadership. 1 2
  • Theresis — Cousin and former Regent; disappears following the civil war and leaves behind military projects and commercial agreements that Theresica later inherits. 1 3 33
  • Shining — His guard and constant protector; Theresica relies on her judgment and brings her on major diplomatic journeys. 1 2 11 13
  • Kal'tsit — His former tutor, who encouraged him to study medicine; he later seeks her advice before negotiating peace with Laterano. 1 13
  • Warfarin — Medical adviser and collaborator on Originium bug-powder research, public-health planning, and Oripathy treatment. 5 12 22 35
  • King of the Scavengers — Corpse Eater patriarch who urges Theresica to take the throne and helps guide him through Kazdel’s political crisis. 1 2
  • Manfred — Former confidant of Theresis who becomes a key military adviser under Theresica’s rule. 1 31
  • ZeppelinSarkaz artisan responsible for industrial machinery and the airship later named after him. 6 33
  • Lady Sicilia — Siracusan leader and recurring diplomatic partner in trade, education, and military agreements. 10 11 36 44
  • Kristen Wright — Columbian researcher and co-founder of Rhine Lab; Theresica funds her space-exploration research. 14 15
  • Gladiia — A powerful Sea Kingdom warrior who temporarily allies with him against the Seaborn and benefits from his Arts support. 20 22
  • Amaya — Iberian student fascinated by Seaborn society; Theresica brings her to Kazdel and attempts to redirect her views through an experiment she accepts. 21 22 23
