• Ding Ling refined Great Medicine and Songshan manuals, raised his Inner Force, and defeated Fei Bin after refusing to join the Songshan Sect.
• Qu Feiyan told Ding Ling that Songshan Sect members had slaughtered Liu Zhengfeng’s family, so Ding Ling rode with her to help Liu Zhengfeng and Qu Yang.
• Ding Ling killed Ding Mian, Zhong Zhen, Le Hou, and Gao Kexin, then received Qu Yang’s secret manuals and The Smiling, Proud Wanderer before Qu Yang died.

After Zuo Lengchan ambushed him in Luoyang, Ding Ling killed Zuo Lengchan and Li Yuanba, mastered the Nine Heavens Thunder Hammer Technique, and carried Li Yuanba’s hammer away.

• Ding Ling rescued Ren Woxing from the prison beneath West Lake, learned the Star Absorbing Skill, and rejected Ren Woxing’s offer to join the Sun Moon Divine Church.
• Ding Ling defeated Ren Woxing when he attacked Qu Feiyan, then left Plum Villa with his companions while Ren Woxing killed Black White Child.
• Ding Ling’s party pursued and defeated Songshan Sect fighters who had chased Consort Yu, and Yu Ji joined the group as she searched for Xiang Yu.
• Ding Ling mastered martial arts Yu Ji and others shared, accepted gifts of medicine and wine, and guided his companions toward Luoyang as his strength increased.
• At Yanfu Restaurant in Luoyang, Zuo Lengchan trapped Ding Ling’s companions with poison and ordered archers to attack them.
• Ding Ling freed his companions, killed Zuo Lengchan, and lured Li Yuanba out of the restaurant for a prolonged battle.

Ding Ling left Luoyang, crushed the Songshan Sect’s resistance, and faced down Shaolin before reaching Mount Hua. He passed Feng Qingyang’s trials, mastered the Nine Swords of Dugu and the Five Mountains Sword Sects’ sword arts, and left Feng Qingyang impressed by his skill.

• Ding Ling escaped Luoyang with General Wang’s help and met Ren Yingying, then refused her offer to join the Sun Moon Divine Church while promising to defeat Invincible East within a year.
• Ding Ling returned to Mount Song, killed Tang Yinge and the Songshan Sect’s leaders, and seized the sect’s manuals and treasures.
• Ding Ling defeated Abbot Fang Zheng and the Eighteen Arhats, while Qu Feiyan secretly entered Shaolin and returned with manuals including the Muscle Change Classic.
• Ding Ling mastered Shaolin’s manuals and Lion’s Roar, forced the monks to let him leave, and continued toward Mount Hua as his reputation spread.

Ding Ling defeated Bai Wushuang, helped settle the Sun Moon Divine Church's leadership, and completed his missions before ascending to the Return of the Condor Heroes world. There, he destroyed the Quanzhen Sect's resistance and left with its secret manuals, while Yang Guo became interested in meeting him.

• Ding Ling defeated Cheng Buyou, Cong Buqi, and Feng Buping, then prepared at Mount Hua for his duel with Bai Wushuang as heroes gathered around him.
• Ding Ling defeated Bai Wushuang and earned her recognition, then accompanied Ren Woxing to Blackwood Cliff, where Bai Wushuang revealed that she had become Invincible East.
• Ding Ling defeated Invincible East again and arranged for her to hand the Sun Moon Divine Church to Ren Yingying after her ascension, then returned to Mount Hua and trained his companions.
