Ruigen Fruit
When Saine left City of Peterte, he did so without any hesitation.
After traveling north for several more days, the once smooth road was gradually replaced by mountain trails.
Human habitation and villages are becoming increasingly scarce.
Fortunately, before leaving, Saine secretly purchased a batch of living supplies in City of Peterte, enough to sustain him for several months.
As he traveled north, Saine maintained a routine of traveling during the day and resting at night.
That evening, Saine released Owl Qi.
"The healing effect of Light's Revival is outstanding. It looks like you'll be fully recovered after two more treatments."
A beam of holy white Magic Power light shot out from the badge in Saine's hand and entered Qi's body.
Seeing that Qi's condition was getting better and better, Saine couldn't help but smile and say.
"Gugu, this is a spell that only a level one light Mage can cast."
"That Midiqi doesn't seem like an alchemist, but he was able to make such a badge, which shows that he is indeed a learned and powerful Holy Tower Magician," Owl Qi replied.
"You don't need to blame yourself for not being able to Dawn Holy Tower. Apart from your reasons, it's mainly my fault."
"From a certain perspective, it was the Dawn Holy Tower that indirectly led to my mentor's death and separated me from my senior brothers, sisters, and Lina."
"How could I possibly join them?" Saine said, shaking his head.
Saine's answer made Gugu twice.
Since this place is remote and sparsely populated, Qi doesn't plan to return to live in the Space Flute. →
As a flying magical bird, the sky is its home ground for soaring through the air.
Qi quickly transformed into a black dot and headed for a spin in the high sky and deep into the forest.
After glancing in the direction Chong Qi had left, Saine wasn't worried that anything would happen to it, a Quasi-Level Magical Beast.
Taking the tent out of his Space Ring, Saine lit a campfire and began preparing dinner.
Knowledge is the source of a Spellcaster's power, and indeed, as his mentor Moxidu had praised him, Saine was very studious.
Some seasonings and chunks of meat were thrown into the iron pot on the campfire by Saine, while he himself picked up the "Peripheral Creature Illustrated Handbook" and started flipping through it.
"We're almost out of the low-level magical materials we brought out from the Underground World; we don't even have enough to make Nutrient Potion."
"But I'm not a pharmacist, and I can't spend a lot of time identifying which underground materials can be replaced by Surface World materials."
"I should have learned more about pharmacy from Merri back then." He said, stirring the broth.
"While reading the book, Saine muttered to himself."
The depth and sophistication of pharmacology is no less than that of Saine's alchemy.
Mastering the heat, the order and amount of ingredients added, and the time required all require considerable skill.
Because the production of Nutrient Potion was relatively rudimentary, Saine was able to master it quickly.
Now that raw materials are gradually running out, he, an amateur, can't possibly spend a lot of time blindly trying things out.
With that time, Saine would be better Dodo studying the Magic Books left to him by his mentor Moxidu. (New Book Bar)
The Nutrient Potion were just low-level medicines, not worth Saine's time and effort.
"Once we get to the north, could we try to contact those Mage organizations, or perhaps Azure Source Holy Tower?"
"Whether it's acquiring knowledge related to pharmacy or obtaining other resources, it all means I can't be too closed off," Saine thought to himself.
With his current apprentice level, even if he stayed in the lab all day for decades, he wouldn't produce anything of note.
The situation of the intermediate and Advanced Apprentice around the City of Peterte is the best example.
Only by Holy Tower, or an organization with Formal-Ranked Magician, can Saine have a higher and broader platform to develop himself.
He hadn't forgotten his obsession with advancing to the next level as soon as possible and heading to the Western Islands.
Besides fulfilling his mentor Moxidu's last wishes, Saine also wants to find Lina.
Just as dinner was about to be ready and the broth in the pot was emitting an enticing aroma, a "Gugu" sound rang out from the sky—Qi had returned.
Qi didn't come back empty-handed today.
Besides the three small, entirely blue blades of Little Grass, Qi also had two red Vermillion Fruit in her mouth.
Saine recognized the two red Vermillion Fruit; they were the Crimson Blood Fruit that were the first to be traded at the small trade fair a few days ago.
As for the other three Little Grass, Saine identified them and they seemed to be Azure Nethergrass *.
This is a relatively low-grade, yet precious, magical material.
According to the illustrated guide Frank gave to Saine, this Little Grass could be held in the mouth by apprentices to increase the efficiency of their meditation.
Unfortunately, this Little Grass is only suitable for Intermediate Apprentice with Mental Strength of less than 50 points, Saine himself can't use it.
"Putting the Azure Nethergrass directly in your mouth is a very primitive and inefficient way of using it."
"If we can use it as a material to make related Magic Potion, it will surely be applicable to Advanced Apprentice like me," said Saine, taking the three Little Grass.
It was also thanks to these three Little Grass that they were obtained.
This deepened Saine's interest in pharmacology.
After storing the three Azure Nethergrass into his Space Ring, Saine noticed that the feathers on Qi's wings were somewhat disheveled, and there was a trace of blue blood on them.
"You fought?" Saine asked in surprise.
"Hmm, when I was picking this fruit, a snake wouldn't let me leave, and I fought with it for a while," Qi said, preening her feathers.
There weren't any powerful magical beasts around, so the snake's level was probably not high either.
The blue bloodstains on Qi's body were mostly from that snake, but it's unknown whether Qi killed the snake.
Seemingly guessing what Saine was thinking, Qi said, "I ate the snake's Magic Crystal, but it was quite large, so I didn't bring it back."
Qi's answer left Saine speechless.
Saine then said, "Next time, even if the opponent is huge, you can still bring back some valuable parts."
"Don't forget, I'm an alchemist," Saine reminded him.
"Gugu, I understand. Shall I go and bring it back now?" Qi asked back.
"Never mind, let's eat first. You look tired too," Saine said, shaking his head.
Although Qi is a magical beast, after spending some time together, it has gotten used to eating hot food with Saine.
Including the battle just now, it only ate the crystal core of that Intermediate Magical Beast, without touching its flesh and blood.
"Snake meat should be good too. If there's another situation like this, you can bring back some Magic Beast Blood Meat," Saine said during the meal.
"Gugu," Qi called out, indicating that she understood.
"By the way, among my mentor's belongings were two Ruigen Fruit."
"You said last time it would be useful to you, so why aren't you eating it anymore?" Saine asked suddenly, taking a sip of hot soup.
"The reason I said it would be useful last time was because those two Ruigen Fruit could effectively speed up the recovery of my injuries."
"But now that we have the Holy Light Badge, there's no need to waste those two Ruigen Fruit," Qi replied.
Then he paused for a moment, and continued, "Actually, the true purpose of the Ruigen Fruit is to help Quasi-Level Magical Beast like me condense their Bloodline in order to break through to a higher realm."
"I feel like I'm still a long way from being a Level Magical Beast, so it would be a waste to consume the Ruigen Fruit directly," Qi said.
"If we use Ruigen Fruit as the main ingredient to make related Magic Beast Potion, wouldn't the boost to your breakthrough to a first- Level Magical Beast be even greater?" Saine asked.
"Maybe," Qi replied.
