Apart from the elite group of apprentices around the old man, the vast majority of the other apprentices of the Shadow of Darkness Holy Tower formed a fan shape, surrounding the otherworldly plants in the center of the basin.

Some apprentices who were far away couldn't see Saine's side was happening at all.
