There, they would take part in postwar negotiations with the Federation's upper echelons.
More than two hundred years later, the Galente Federation would formally surrender to Wizard Civilization.
This was already settled. Even the date and hour for signing the surrender treaty had been specified exactly.
However, Wizard Civilization and the Galente Federation had clearly yet to reach a complete consensus on many of the finer points of the surrender treaty.
Especially after the Federation's "Doomsday Project" suffered a crushing failure, the initiative had fallen completely into Wizard Civilization's hands.
And the God Crystal that had already exploded, along with the vast might it displayed, had also caused subtle changes in Wizard Civilization's high command's attitude toward how to handle the Galente Federation.
For the Galente Federation, it was not yet known whether these changes were good or bad.
But one thing was certain: Both civilizations would have to engage in several more rounds of in-depth discussion over certain details!
Saine did not understand economics.
Nor was he as adept as some Wizard Civilization mages when it came to political considerations.
What he truly excelled at was Mechanical Arcana.
And that happened to be precisely the ability valued by Wizard Civilization's upper echelons, led by Befu.
Saine did not need to take full responsibility for the secret negotiations between Wizard Civilization and the Galente Federation. He only needed to oversee the Federation's transfer of knowledge in the field of science and technology.
Wizard Civilization's upper echelons were somewhat concerned that certain Federation extremists might destroy some of the cutting-edge technological arcana in their possession, thereby reducing Wizard Civilization's gains.
