Letter from the Grant Family
As a magic apprentice, Serena's physical condition was noticeably weaker. →
In just over half an hour, she gave in, looking utterly defeated, and Saine didn't continue to tormenting her.
In fact, Serena's behavior is the normal behavior of Mage who are known for their weak physiques.
In his early years as an apprentice, Saine and his senior sister Fei'er would sometimes engage in passionate lovemaking that would last for two hours at a time.
At that time, Saine had not yet cultivated his body. Apart from the backache that would occur after each session, it could only be said that his senior sister, Fei'er, had a special physique and an enormous appetite.
Like Serena, her appetite is less than a quarter of that of her senior Fei'er, back then.
She was full after only one bite.
The Azure Fire Body Refining Mystery have made Saine's physique far superior to that of ordinary Mage.
And perhaps due to his Knight Family lineage, Saine's genes made him stronger and taller than the average Mage. (PS: This was probably one of the reasons he was able to satisfy his senior sister Fei'er back then.)
As his body training progressed, Saine gained a deeper understanding of the mysteries of the Azure Fire Power, and his physique was further strengthened.
As for when he can reach the level of his master-uncle Gagaru, who can use his powerful Elemental Body to break through the Plane Barrier and fight close combat with level 5 creatures of the same level... this should be the long-term goal that Saine will pursue as he approaches the end of the Spellcaster.
Saine wasn't so arrogant as to believe he would definitely advance to level four in the future, but he also wasn't as pessimistic and timid about the future as Serena.
Taking it one step at a time, Saine doesn't know how far he will go, but at least Saine won't give up until he falls!
The next day, Serena rested all morning before finally recovering and hurriedly got up to prepare lunch for Saine.
Serena's constitution was not only weak, but she also bled more than Mage like Lina, Fei'er, and Irene who had taken the first blood from Saine.
Last night, Saine cast a Restoration Spell on Serena.
This morning, after waking up, Saine released himself again in his sleep.
Despite this, Serena still looked weak and hadn't fully recovered.
When Serena knocked on the door of Saine Laboratory, Saine was studying a specimen of Flame Creature he had collected in the Poison Fire Green Flame World.
Saine's sense of time is scientific and rigorous, a habit he developed during his early apprenticeship, and this habit has always stayed with him.
"Dinner is ready," Serena said softly.
Perhaps because of her intimate physical relationship with Saine, Serena no longer looked at Saine with the same restraint as before, but instead with an unyielding affection.
At the Laboratory Table, Saine nodded and said, "You eat first, I'll be there in a bit."
He said "wait a moment," but by the time Saine arrived at the table, almost half an hour had passed, and some of the dishes had already gone cold.
However, Saine didn't mind these things. What he cared about was that Serena hadn't started eating since he hadn't come to dinner.
"The physique of Formal Magician is vastly different from that of a magic apprentice, and my physical attributes are even stronger than those of a typical Level-1 Magician."
"You don't have to wait for me anymore. You can finish eating first and then do your own things," Saine said to Serena at the dining table.
It's unclear whether Serena actually listened to him; she did nod at the time, but knowing her as Saine does, she'll most likely just wait for Saine obediently.
Eating cold food is nothing; what Serena truly enjoys and is fascinated by is the process of spending time with Saine.
Especially at the dinner table, this time must be the happiest time of Serena's day.
When Saine praises or encourages Serena for a dish she makes, it makes Serena happy all day, and sometimes it even improves her learning efficiency.
"This is the study plan I've prepared for you. Let's start today."
"If you have any questions, you can ask me directly. I don't have any urgent research projects at the moment, so I can help you answer them," Saine said, handing a small Crystal Ball to Serena.
Serena carefully took the Crystal Ball from Saine and nodded emphatically, "Yes!"
During their meal, Saine and Serena also chatted about other things.
Yesterday at dinner, the main question was about Serena's situation in recent years, while today the topic shifted to the Azure Source Holy Tower and the Grant Family's situation in recent years.
Saine also told Serena some of his stories from the Poison Fire Green Flame World.
Several friends that Saine made during his apprenticeship at the Azure Source Holy Tower, Quasi-Magician Daniel, have already advanced one level; he was promoted last year.
Because Saine had asked Daniel and others to take care of Serena before he left, Serena knew about Daniel's promotion relatively early on, and he had indeed helped Serena a bit over the years.
Besides Daniel, Anna, another Quasi-Magician who rose to fame at the Azure Source Holy Tower, did not advance a level.
It seems that because of her failed attempt to reach level one blindly, Anna's body suffered considerable damage. When Serena last saw her, Anna looked noticeably older.
Anna and Daniel, one of Saine's few apprentice friends at the Azure Source Holy Tower.
And because they are both women, Anna has taken far better care of Serena than Daniel over the years.
Upon hearing Anna's story, Saine nodded and casually said, "I'll visit her in a while."
Anna's mentor's husband is one of the three deans of the Azure Source Holy Tower, and he is also one of the Third-Level Great Magician who went to the Poison Fire Green Flame World to participate in the war. Saine had also crossed paths with him on the battlefield many times.
It wouldn't be a bad thing to build a relationship with someone like that, not to mention that Saine and Anna had a long-standing friendship.
Unbeknownst to him, Saine had also changed a lot.
If it were during the early days when he first arrived at the Azure Source Holy Tower, he would absolutely not have taken the initiative to socialize with or befriend any Mage.
People change.
In addition to Anna and Daniel's situation, Serena also mentioned some things about the Grant Family over the years.
The Grant Family maintained a frequency of sending a Magic Letter to the Azure Source Holy Tower approximately every six months. The Grant Family members were also aware of Saine's trip to Alien Plane to wage war, and their letters were mostly just to let people know that he was safe.
If Saine weren't in the Holy Tower, the Grant Family wouldn't have needed to go through all this trouble.
However, seemingly to highlight their family's special relationship with the Azure Source Holy Tower, this Knight Family located in the Lisia Alliance seemed to enjoy sending messages quite a bit.
One member of the family was taken as a disciple by the Holy Tower Master!
Even if this news reached the Knights' Hall, it would be enough for the two ancestors of the Grant Family to brag about.
Especially the Reverse Feather Lion King, a second-level Super Magical Beast, is a big mouth.
Serena presented all the letters sent by the Grant Family to Saine.
The contents of the letters were mostly uninformative.
There were only two things that Saine cared about: one was that his ancestor, the Level-2 Knight Ulysses, had returned to the Knights' Hall three years ago with his mount, the Reverse Feather Lion King, because of some things.
Secondly, there's Saine's younger brother, Solon, who has had two nephews and a niece in recent years.
Besides these two things, what made Saine frown slightly was another message hidden beneath the surface of these Magic Letter.
None of the letters contained news of Saine Earl Grant's promotion.
This actually means that Earl Grant has not yet been promoted to Level 1 Knight.
Earl Grant must be almost seventy years old this year. At this age, Knight is at a crucial stage of breaking through to the next level.
If the delay is made any further, the Knight will not have the professional advantage of Mage who become stronger with age.
