Revisiting an Old Haunt
After nearly half a year of silence, the city lord's mansion in City of Peterte suddenly became lively today.
Six months ago, the city lord's eldest son tragically died in a conflict with a neighboring territory. The old city lord was devastated and even canceled the lavish birthday banquet that was supposed to be held.
But today, the city is suddenly decorated with lanterns and colorful decorations again, which makes people wonder if one of the city lord's wives is pregnant again.
In the City of Peterte's mansion, Saine met the somewhat familiar, fat city lord.
More than twenty years had passed since they last met. Saine was still as young and handsome as he had been back then, but the City of Peterte in front of him had clearly aged a lot.
City of Peterte is still quite fat, but his current fatness is somewhat different from his past fatness.
In the past, this fat city lord gave people the impression of being extremely round and plump.
But now, dressed in a magnificent aristocratic robe, he gives off a loose and sloppy impression.
Saine didn't come specifically to see the fat city lord; it's just that City of Peterte happened to be on his route south, and he only stopped by for a quick look.
"Where's Frank? I haven't seen him." Saine asked casually.
"Frank passed away seven years ago, but his family is still here and doing well. Should I call them over?" the fat city lord asked respectfully.
Early on, Saine discovered that this fat city lord was very honest.
Sure enough, although old Frank is dead, the bond of kinship remains.
With the fat city lord's protection, his family descendants should be doing well; it's just unknown whether any new magic apprentices will be born. →
Saine shook his head; he had no interest in meeting ordinary humans he didn't know.
Besides old Frank, Saine also asked about several other names or nicknames.
Saine had a good memory; he asked about several magic apprentices he had met back then, when they had even gathered together for a trade fair.
When faced with Saine's questions, the fat city lord answered some of them, while others were questions he didn't even know the answers to.
After all, Mage and noble city lords like him belong to different circles.
The fat city lord did mention Mary, the Intermediate Apprentice who had once shared a night of pleasure with Saine.
Mary and three other apprentices from the surrounding area went south together.
The fat city lord knew about this because before Mary left, she had invited Frank to come with them, but old Frank refused.
Not everyone has the desire to venture south. Old Frank was one of the older ones, and he eventually buried his bones in his homeland.
"Twenty-eight years have passed in the blink of an eye," Saine sighed.
Twenty-eight years ago, Saine came to City of Peterte as a Advanced Magic Apprentice.
Twenty-eight years later, when he returned here, everything had changed.
Saine only stayed in City of Peterte for half a day. Before leaving, he gave the fat city lord a disposable Flame Arrow.
This should be the last time that Saine met this fat city lord. This Flame Arrow was a gift he gave to the fat city lord. Once activated, it was powerful enough to unleash a force comparable to a quasi-rank spell.
Saine had also heard about the death of his eldest son, a situation that was all too common in the Underdark.
As a chaotic area where several major forces meet, the Underdark seems to have always been a no-man's-land, and no complete order has ever been established here.
Slaughter and death are the norm in this vast region of the Underdark.
Unlike the border wars that broke out in places like the Lisia Alliance, these wars were actually instigated by the Knights' Hall or powerful individuals of level one or above.
The chaos in the Underdark is genuine chaos; no one is pushing it forward, and no one cares about it.
No one knows how long the chaos here will last.
In short, Saine couldn't find any Knights' Hall or Holy Tower nearby on the Magic Map.
The closest Holy Tower to the Underdark is actually the Azure Source Holy Tower in the north.
As for the legendary, prosperous Wizard World South Coast, it is still quite a long way from here.
No wonder even magic apprentices who possess some extraordinary power are not absolutely certain of successfully reaching that place.
While magic apprentices struggle to reach the Wizard World South Coast, it's no problem for Level-1 Magician like Saine.
According to the Magic Map, if Saine flew at full speed, it would take him about three months to reach the area of influence on the Wizard World South Coast.
After leaving City of Peterte, and flying for about half a month, Saine landed on an unremarkable hillside.
At this point, the terrain around Saine was mostly plains.
However, there are very few humans and magical beasts living in the nearby Wizard World.
Only some common animals and birds were drawing water from the river not far down the hillside.
At the top of this unassuming hillside, Saine found the entrance to a low and deep cave.
It was unlikely that anyone would be interested in exploring such a boring cave. After lingering at the entrance for a moment, Saine finally jumped in.
As far as I can remember, Saine was quite confused about the routes inside the cave because he was just wandering around aimlessly at the time.
After wandering and exploring the cave for several days, Saine only found the entrance to a solidified Magma Rock passage.
This Underground Passage, filled with Magma Rock, is probably one of the passages that spewed out when the underground lava erupted. It may not be the same one that Saine took, because he can't see any familiar landmarks.
Although Level-1 Magician already possesses unimaginable power compared to ordinary people.
But even with his abilities, he still couldn't dig through the rock beneath the earth, which was unknown how many meters deep, let alone dig out the City of Mozhsuobula, which had already been swallowed by molten lava.
After lingering for a long time at the entrance of the Magma Rock passage, Saine sighed and left.
Before leaving, Saine dug up some low-grade Blue Moss from the corner of the passage as a souvenir.
After lingering in the same place for several days, Saine continued his journey south.
This time, Saine didn't stop at all, and its flight speed was even several levels faster than before.
The Wizard World South Coast, which normally takes three months to reach, was reached by Saine in just two months. It was a large human city on the South Coast called "City of Jasmine".
The South Coast of the Wizard World is indeed quite different from the human cities where Saine had previously lived.
It is just a city name that is completely different from the human cities north of the Underdark.
Human cities north of the Underdark often like to be named after the surnames of the nobles of that territory.
The name City of Jasmine comes from a Clear Spirit Jasmine Flower Field in the northeastern part of this human city, which is famous in the surrounding area.
The Clear Spirit Jasmine Flower is a low-grade material that is artificially cultivated. Not only can Mage use it, but even Knight like to steep it in water to make tea. It is a high-end product that only the noble class in the surrounding area can enjoy.
Although City of Jasmine is located on the Wizard World South Coast, there is no sea to be seen here; it is still considered an inland area.
The South Coast of the Wizard World is much more expansive than one might imagine. Continuing south from City of Jasmine, it would take Saine approximately two more months of flying before he could see the real ocean.
That is the Endless South Sea of Wizard World.
