Black Domain
Before leaving Thousand Leaf Coral Island, on the way to the northern Black Domain, Saine also had to pass through several blockades.
Although the islands in the border areas, such as Thousand Leaf Coral Island, have been heavily infiltrated by the Black Magician from the north.
But overall, the Knight and Mage native to the Western Islands still had the upper hand.
In certain designated areas, there are sentry posts and observation posts specially set up by the major Holy Tower and Knights' Hall of the Western Islands.
What Saine needed to do was deliberately avoid these nodes and pass through the blind spots of those observation posts.
Fortunately, the Magic Map left by the eldest brother Zorro contained a detailed description of the safe passages within.
Even the native Knight and Mage of the Western Islands stationed in various fortresses and Magic Tower could only explore the area within their field of vision at most, and would not leave their posts to conduct in-depth explorations.
This also gave people like Saine, as well as the Black Magician and black Knight in the north, a great deal of room to maneuver.
After passing through three islands similar in size to Thousand Leaf Coral Island, and more than ten smaller Li Island.
Saine arrived at Moduolong Island within the Black Domain.
In terms of area, Moduolong Island is five times the size of Thousand Leaf Coral Island.
This is a piece of land within the Western Islands, somewhere between a medium-sized and a small island.
The reefs and shallows surrounding Moduolong Island are known for their rugged rock formations.
In addition, Saine noted that a large number of special Sea Beasts also inhabit the waters surrounding Moduolong Island.
These Sea Beasts give the impression of being mostly bloody and brutal, as if they have been fed some kind of special drug. →
However, when Saine passed through this area, the sea monsters and giant beasts lurking in the deep ocean did not show themselves to make things difficult for him.
Based on this result, Saine speculated that it might be related to the invisible shield that the two dragons, Bixi and Bai Xing, had given him.
As for whether these two shields have any other functions, Saine has not yet figured them out.
Moduolong Island should be the island where Senior Sister Fei'er and Senior Brother Zorro of Saine lived.
Saine didn't know if Lina was here too.
To find information about Lina, we'll probably have to start with her senior sister Fei'er and senior brother Zorro.
After all, they came to the Black Domain together back then, and those level one or higher Black Magician from City of Mozhsuobula should have had ways to communicate with each other after fleeing to the Black Domain.
Upon arriving at Moduolong Island, the biggest impression this Black Domain island left on Saine was that there were too few people.
The entire area of Moduolong Island is five times the size of Thousand Leaf Coral Island, but its population density is even lower than that of Thousand Leaf Coral Island, which has been the site of numerous wars.
Dense forests and primeval shrublands cover most of the Moduolong Island.
In the central area of Moduolong Island, there appears to be a sizable Volcano Cluster. Looking into the distance, Saine can see wisps of Black Smoke rising into the clouds.
Not only is the population small, but the Moduolong Island also has very few magical and wild animal resources. →
This is a continental island that can be characterized as "barren".
According to the thinking of a normal Mage, not many people would be willing to settle here long-term.
"No wonder the Black Magician have repeatedly gone south to erode and plunder the central region of the Western Islands."
"If all the islands within the Black Domain are like this, under normal circumstances, they wouldn't even have enough resources for their daily experiments and cultivation, let alone explore higher levels of the Truth Dao." Looking at the situation on Moduolong Island, Saine shook his head and said.
The two addresses marked on the Magic Map of Moduolong Island are located in the central and northern parts of the island, respectively.
Saine wasn't sure if the entire island looked like this; he had just landed on the island and was located in its southern part.
Our first stop, naturally, is the central region marked on the Magic Map.
As Saine continued northward, the appearance of Moduolong Island finally began to change somewhat.
Some scattered, rather barren farmlands gradually appeared before Saine.
On the ground below, Saine did not see any large-scale human cities, but he did see many small settlements that resembled villages.
Saine also saw some working-class people in the fields.
Unlike other parts of the Wizard World, the faces of these lower-class human civilians are mostly numb and almost devoid of any vitality.
However, apart from the common people, Saine did not see any magical beasts.
Could it be that all the magical beast resources on Moduolong Island have been hunted down by the Black Magician here?
Before Saine could figure out the details, a dark yellow ray suddenly shot out from below.
A pale red Fire Elemental Shield helped Saine block the ray that was meant to ambush him.
The faint, pungent acidic smell in the air indicated that this ray should belong to some kind of acid ray magic.
To launch a surprise attack out of the blue is indeed very much in line with the style of the Black Magician of the Black Domain.
Back when Saine was in City of Mozhsuobula, he would retreat immediately after failing to achieve his goal on a mission to the academy.
After arriving at the Western Islands, Saine has been in a state of concealment.
However, his ability to fly in mid-air demonstrates that he is not weak.
Even in this situation, someone still dared to ambush him, which only proves that the other party also has a certain degree of confidence in their own strength.
And indeed, after failing to ambush Saine, the Black Magician did not leave.
Saine's gaze was now fixed on a wooden house on the low slope below.
"Where did this little brat come from? You've crossed the line!"
"This is Master Babaluka's territory. If you don't want to suffer Master Babaluka's wrath, you'd better leave behind three High-Level Energy Crystal." An arrogant voice came from the wooden house, and then a magic apprentice who had reached the level of Quasi-Magician walked out of the wooden house.
Perhaps it was because Saine's Aura Concealment Technique magic was too outstanding, or perhaps it was because no unfamiliar Level-1 Magician had visited this place for too long.
After the magic apprentice appeared, he failed to discover the True Details of Saine's status Level-1 Magician.
They assumed he was just some reckless apprentice passing by.
This situation didn't occur because the Black Wizard Apprentice was inherently arrogant, but because Saine hadn't yet figured out the workings of the Black Domain.
If, during his flight, Saine releases his aura as a Level 1 being in all directions...
I'm sure this magic apprentice wouldn't dare utter a sound after sensing it.
The reason for robbing Saine at this time is simply because in the Black Domain, it is all too common for thieves to fight and kill each other.
Each magic apprentice's advancement signifies the presence of numerous corpses of their own kind and other alien creatures behind them.
How can one survive in the barren and fiercely competitive Black Domain without stepping on the corpses of others?
It was also thanks to Saine demonstrating his flying ability after landing on Moduolong Island that things turned out so well.
If he were to traverse the island on foot, even the Low-Level Magic Apprentice, or even ordinary humans, hiding in the shadows would likely dare to target him.
This is a place that doesn't care about morality or rules; it only believes in the supremacy of strength.
Writing 10,000 words a day is still a bit strenuous for Little Bean. Today there will only be four updates, so I'll take a short break.
There will be extra updates in the next few days, but after that, it will return to three updates a day.
Little Bean has almost figured out the rules for bonus chapters based on monthly votes for this book, and they will be implemented starting next month.
It starts with three chapters a day, and then additional chapters will be added based on the number of monthly votes received.
I hope everyone will Dodo their support then.
