Mediator and Perceiver
"Nan Ya!"
Linsey is talking to Bo Gong.
But at that moment, Ethan from the War School finally couldn't hold back any longer.
While Linsey was observing the situation above, he had already clenched his fists. Now, he rushed forward and grabbed Linsey's clothes, his lips trembling as he pleaded:
"Nan Ya, release Nan Ya."
"..."
"A Hui?!"
Both Bo Gong and Oma were somewhat puzzled.
The mediator, Bo Gong, even wanted to reprimand Ethan's attitude, since Linsey was their savior and such actions were too reckless.
Linsey shook her head slightly at Bo Gong.
He returned a slightly regretful expression, then released the corpses he had collected.
Several corpses were laid out in front of them.
Upon seeing the corpse of the girl Nan Ya, Ethan immediately pounced on her, clinging to her tightly with his one arm.
Seeing this scene.
Bo Gong also understood what Linsey and the other two, who arrived later, had done.
He solemnly bent his knees, placed his right hand on his chest over his heart, and lowered his face slightly. "Mr. Linsey, thank you very much."
Linsey waved her hand dismissively:
"If these corpses are left there, they could very well be resurrected by the Living Corpse. Even the doctrines of the School of Death do not allow me to do such a thing."
After stating his position, Linsey inquired about something that concerned him greatly, "By the way, Mr. Bo Gong, since you came from the Courtyard in the Forest, you must have at least found a passage to this location, right?"
This was a crucial question, and Linsey's calm gaze clearly conveyed her stance.
However, Bo Gong shook his head with a wry smile:
"There was a path when we came in, but now... I'm afraid there isn't anymore."
Linsey guessed:
"Is that passage controlled by the Living Corpse?"
Bo Gong's tone became even more bitter. "These Living Corpse seem to not want their secrets to be revealed. So they blew up the entire passage. We tried everything to escape here and hide in this ancient city, but we didn't expect them to find us so quickly."
At this point, Bo Gong looked upwards.
His gaze seemed to pierce through the walls of a cave.
This city, sealed within a glacier, truly opened the eyes of Bo Gong, but unfortunately, its location was not ideal:
"Who would have thought that, in a world near the World Border, beneath a Black Mountain, lies an ancient city? And that the inhabitants of this city, in this dark and enclosed underground, would transform into Living Corpse and form such a force?"
Amidst the sighs of the Bo Gong.
Linsey glanced subtly at Red beside her.
Linsey herself knew the origins of the red and the reasons for the emergence of these Revivalist, so there was no problem.
But if I were to tell others...
Linsey's eyes hardened, and she made a decision in an instant.
However, there was one more thing he hadn't done before he could actually provide an answer.
Linsey quietly conducted a product appraisal of the Bo Gong in front of her. After confirming that the other party was purely human and that the mediator's identity was also legitimate, she...
He concealed part of the truth.
But he also revealed his true intentions to the other party:
"During my journey to Black Mountain, I also gathered some clues. The reason these Living Corpse are deliberately present beneath the Dragon Beast's base is because the two sides are at odds."
"I think starting from this point might be the way to provoke a fight between the two sides."
Bo Gong clearly did not believe Linsey's plan could succeed.
However, he did not deny it outright, but rather expressed his opinion indirectly:
"The Dragon Beast has reached the Seventh Stage. If these Living Corpse do not have the corresponding combat power, they are no match for him at all."
At this point, Bo Gong Palace suddenly changed the subject. "By the way, Mr. Linsey, how did you manage to move these bodies here? Are you a merchant? Was that your private warehouse?"
"If we could use the trading network of the traveling merchants, perhaps we could find a way to get the intelligence..."
Linsey shook her head and interrupted her, "I'm sorry, that's my special ability, it has nothing to do with a merchant's skills."
"I don't have any special means to contact the outside world."
"..."
Linsey's answer made Bo Gong's expression somewhat gloomy.
Just as the atmosphere was cooling down, Oma, the Perceptor who had been silent in the back, suddenly joined the conversation.
He advised the mediator in front of him:
"Bo Gong, we have nowhere left to retreat."
"Perhaps trusting Mr. Linsey's plan is also an option. Even if we can't defeat the Dragon Beast, we can create some conditions to try and escape from here."
Bo Gong was somewhat taken aback by his companion's statement.
But considering the other party's abilities, he finally nodded.
Linsey noticed something amiss from their conversation.
Bo Gong is undoubtedly the leader of this team, but on some key issues, he trusts Oma's judgment.
What kind of power does this previously unheard-of Perceptor possess?
Red and Linsey, standing to the side, had excellent chemistry.
The girl sensed this too, so she spoke up on her behalf:
"Linsey, you've never told me what it's like to be a Perceptor?"
Oma introduced himself, "It's normal that you two haven't heard of us. We Perceptors are few in number, and we don't have any particularly outstanding abilities."
Seeing his companion's humble attitude, Bo Gong carefully explained, "Oma is an excellent scout!"
"The perceptive's skills will train their hearing, vision, smell and touch in the first Fourth Stage, and in the Fifth Stage, they will integrate their abilities to achieve a special state of empathy."
"A Perceptor who has reached the Ascender level possesses an extremely powerful advantage in many aspects—especially in Scouting Skill!"
Linsey saw through Bo Gong's idea.
After realizing that his thoughts differed from those of the others, the mediator immediately aligned himself with his companions and even proactively revealed the Perceiver's powerful investigative abilities.
If both parties act together afterwards.
This statement is an attempt to gain as much of their voice as possible.
A frank attitude will not cause resentment during negotiations.
Linsey neither confirmed nor denied this; his choice was to turn the topic into concrete action.
Linsey walked over to Ethan, who was holding the body, and offered him a few words of comfort.
These people's bodies certainly cannot be left in place, otherwise being reawakened by the Revivalist will almost certainly be their only fate.
Once again, the bodies of these dead were collected.
Linsey took out his Meteorite Pickaxe again and led the way into the depths of the cave. "We have some clues here."
"These Living Corpse seem to be preparing some kind of method to target the Dragon Beast, and they're located near this city."
"We'd better find it now..."
Linsey's figure disappeared into the darkness, and Red naturally followed without hesitation.
"..."
Three human awakened individuals from the Courtyard in the Forest remained in place.
They looked at each other, exchanged brief glances, and then tacitly accepted Linsey's actions and leadership, before following him into the depths of the cave.
