The Girl's Pursuit
Bang! Bang! Bang! "Who's knocking?"
creak—
"Oh, it's Miss Wala Wala."
"If I remember correctly... um, this should be your fifteenth time here today?"
"Mr. Ala Song, Linsey still not here?"
"Linsey! He... he seemed to have come back for lunch, but he's definitely not here now."
Do you know where he went?
"I don't know about that."
"..."
"Okay, I understand."
"Also, Mr. Ala Song, when you lie, your eyes can't help but look to the left. You'd better try to overcome that in the future."
Say goodbye to the cabin where Linsey and Ala Song lived.
Wala Wala turned and stepped back into the passageway of the cabin, her face sullen.
She didn't want to make things difficult for someone like Ala Song, who was a complete stranger.
After all, the Fishing Boat is only so big, and it's surrounded by the sea.
Rather than interrogating Ala Song or forcing him to reveal the truth, she preferred to find Linsey herself.
But then I thought of how decisively Linsey rejected the invitation last night.
Wala Wala was still somewhat indignant and annoyed. "Why did you refuse!"
"A legendary story, a rare experience, such a great opportunity to showcase oneself. There's no reason to give it up!"
Thinking this, Wala Wala circled back to the deck.
The girl wandered around the cabin and deck for most of the day.
She searched almost every corner of the ship, but couldn't find Linsey anywhere.
"Could it be... that he's deliberately avoiding me?"
Wala Wala sighed belatedly.
Feeling somewhat helpless, she leaned against the railing of the ship's side and began to gaze at the distant sea.
It was still early before sunset, and the sky was bright.
The girl's eyes, however, were somewhat dim.
Her artist's intuition told her that creating an epic, writing a play, or composing a piece of music for Linsey would all be very effective.
"Perhaps not as good as the ' Poem of Werner Moye '."
"But it's still better than ' The Journey of the Steel Knight ' by three times the quality of ' Elegy of Galilee '..."
The girl's soft, conflicted voice abruptly stopped.
Just then, she heard some subtle water sounds from outside the railing, as if someone had caught a big fish from the sea. "Hmm? Hmm hmm hmm!"
Wala Wala turned her head and looked around, her expression becoming increasingly strange.
There was no one holding Fishing Rod on the deck, and the small portholes in the cabin made it impossible for anyone to fish.
Where did that sound come from?
With the artist's keen insight, Wala Wala walked toward the direction from which the sound came.
She leaned over the railing of the ship and saw Linsey sitting on the edge of the plank, Fishing Rod with a rod.
Hey! I found you!
"Ah?!"
Linsey was startled when she cast her fishing Fishing Rod, and almost dropped it.
He turned his head and saw, sure enough Wala Wala's face full of resentment.
Linsey tried to force a smile, "Wala Wala, good afternoon?"
"The weather is nice today. Have you had lunch yet?"
Wala Wala gets straight to the point:
"Linsey, do you really not want me to write your biography?"
"A whole day!"
"To avoid me, you sat in this cramped space and fished all day long?"
Faced with the girl's questioning.
Linsey looked into her bag and found an extra Advanced Gem, five Ocean Element Crystal, an Octopus Brush that could automatically produce ink, and a bunch of antiques that looked very valuable.
He righteously and firmly denied it, saying, "Wala Wala, fishing is a very important career for me!"
"Actually, I was fishing here all day yesterday. This is not self-torture I did to avoid you."
Wala Wala could clearly sense Linsey's emotions.
So the girl flipped over and jumped, landing on the railing above Linsey's head. "You don't mind me watching you from here, do you?"
"If any fish accidentally gets off the hook when you lift the rod, I can help you catch it."
"Uh... thank you."
Linsey was a little overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response from the Wala Wala.
After catching a large crab and a bioluminescent jellyfish, he began to fidget.
Let's stop fishing here for today!
Linsey put away her Fishing Rod and jumped back onto the deck.
He took two steps forward, Wala Wala followed two steps behind, her expression even a little aggrieved.
But she didn't say a word, as if she wanted to prove something with her attitude.
Linsey couldn't hold back any longer:
"Does it really have to be this persistent?"
That's how persistent Wala Wala is, and she gives her answer without even thinking:
"That's right, I think such experiences shouldn't be forgotten!"
Linsey countered seriously:
"But have you thought about Wala Wala? My experiences involve a lot of very dangerous or extremely valuable information. If these stories get out, they could bring me trouble, or even danger!"
Wala Wala offered her perspective. "Linsey, writing a story is a long process!"
"By the time I finish creating it, promote it, and for the work to gain fame, it will be a very long process. Not to mention that someone might use this story to pay attention to you, or even target you!"
Wala Wala then gave an example:
"For example, in the City of Law, there are those who Righteous Walker."
"Everyone knows that if they get involved now and the person they support becomes the ruler of the City of Law, they will reap unimaginable rewards in the future."
"But the fact is—the dissemination of information and the action of action span an infinitely vast distance. And why should those who truly possess this ability to act chase after such a pitiful, elusive goal?"
"Linsey, the universe is vast; it can hold all secrets and stories!"
What Wala Wala said does make some sense.
But after four years of adventure, Linsey's attitude remains infinitely conservative and cautious.
You're right.
"But what if someone still targets me..."
Before Linsey could finish speaking, Wala Wala caught up with him in two steps.
The girl stood straight on the deck, her eyes meeting Linsey's. Her gaze was earnest, and she said in a steady tone, "If anyone covets your secret, I will protect you!"
"Linsey, I assure you, from now on anyone who tries to threaten you will have to tear me into a pile of tattered canvases first!"
"..."
The girl's emotions flowed from her Essence.
Linsey could clearly sense that when Wala Wala said those words, there was no hypocrisy in them, but rather a genuine vow from the bottom of his heart.
The girl was indeed willing to risk her life to protect Linsey's safety! Therefore, Linsey was even less likely to agree to such a thing:
"I don't intend to drag others into my troubles..."
Linsey's voice suddenly lowered.
Because he saw the sky in the distance suddenly darken.
It was still afternoon at sea.
Looking in other directions, the Clear Sky is clear and the sun is shining brightly.
As fate would have it, a large patch of dark clouds appeared at the horizon in the direction the Fishing Boat was heading, and the heavy air seemed to press down on us at any moment.
Linsey pointed into the distance and asked:
"Wala Wala, is this kind of torrential rain common on the seas of the Seven Seas Alliance?"
