Sky Island Ecology

After bidding farewell to Stone Pillar Sky Island, Linsey and Alvitte continued on their way.

At this point, the bridge-building work had come to a complete end. Most of the sky islands here were now connected by roads.

Even if a road occasionally broke off, they could detour around it via nearby sky islands. At their speed, it would hardly waste any time.

Just one day later.

Linsey and Alvitte had not only crossed more than a dozen sky islands, but also noticed that the number of surrounding islands was increasing, while larger sky islands had begun to appear.

The Middle Ring World.

Huge sky islands floated here at varying heights.

Some sky islands sat directly above others. In certain areas, the islands were packed so densely that one could cross the distance between two of them with a light jump, like a stream running through a forest and separating two nearby banks.

Yet compared to these massive objects.

There were also smaller islands and chunks of rock mixed into the skies of the Dust Road World.

The smallest were only one or two meters across, while the larger ones reached a hundred meters or so.

Taken as a whole, they resembled satellites guarding a planet.

As they traveled, Linsey also took time to study the ecological and geographical relationships here.

"The flora and fauna are generally consistent. After all, with humans and Sky Bridges around, there's no strict environmental isolation."

"As for the sky islands... these islands are connected to one another, but if they're too small, like those islands beside us that are only a few dozen meters across, they won't generate roads of their own."
