After bidding farewell to the City of Law, Linsey continued onward.
From the refugees, he learned the last place Heart's Edge had gone to suppress bandits. His goal was simply to find him.
This time, Linsey bade farewell to everyone he had met in the City of Law. Instead, the painter who had once gone through life-and-death trials with him in the Seven Seas Alliance traveled with Linsey again.
It was only the second night.
As they sat around the campfire and Linsey prepared dinner for the day,
the painter set up his easel and prepared to capture the nighttime scenery. Then he casually asked Linsey:
"Linsey, your new friend isn't coming with us this time?"
"Don't tell me you're afraid you won't be able to explain things to Wala Wala after she wakes up?"
Ala Song was clearly hinting at a romantic relationship.
Even Linsey's hand holding the roasting meat trembled.
"What nonsense are you talking about!"
"Alvitte and I are just adventure partners. It's not some weird relationship."
But Ala Song gave a particularly vivid example:
"In the Seven Seas Alliance, you watched Poem of Werner Moye, right? Men and women on adventures often fail to notice their feelings for each other, only to suddenly realize afterward what they lost because of misunderstandings."
Poem of Werner Moye was probably a Nibelungen-style story.
People in love were led astray by misunderstandings and fate's cruel tricks, causing the hero to die beneath the sword of the one he loved and ultimately bringing about an irreparable tragedy.
"..."
Linsey fell silent for several seconds before asking Ala Song in return:
"How long did you stay in the Seven Seas Alliance? You even watched plays like that?"
Ala Song burst into laughter.
"Thanks to you, I had a very comfortable time there."
