Listening to Linsey converse back and forth with his animal friend.
As a quiet bird perch, Eris's expression grew increasingly strange.
When the exchange was more or less over, he could not help voicing his own thoughts:
"Linsey, since the Abyss School's enemy is the City of Law, what are they looking for the God-Slaying Skill for?"
"Could it be to deal with that resurrected evil god you mentioned?"
The little parrot on Eris's shoulder nodded first:
"What else could it be?"
"The Abyss School and the evil god ruling the world—neither of them is any good. To deal with their common enemy, they might cooperate despite their mutual distrust, but behind the scenes, they would definitely be plotting against each other."
"Since they know about this kind of targeted skill that has already been buried by history, they will most likely put it to use."
Linsey offered another possibility:
"There is another possibility."
"This ability was originally developed to target the Abyss School's Artificial Gods. Having suffered such a blow, they may want to address the problem at its source."
The white parrot on Eris's shoulder twitched its wings and brushed them across its face.
It did not care about the affairs of the City of Law.
What mattered more was itself and its human companion—or perhaps Starhorn City, located in another world?
After smoothing its feathers, the little parrot asked Linsey:
"So now that we have figured things out, what is your decision?"
Linsey's thoughts were clear:
"Since that is the situation, the objective is obvious."
"We will continue looking for Heart's Edge, get him to end this battle, and find a way to lift the City of Law's seal."
Hearing Linsey's plan, Eris nodded in agreement:
"That is right. Ending this chaos should remain our priority."
