The banquet was extremely dull. Because of Abel's status, although the ladies present all wanted to speak with him, they did not dare approach too closely due to the gap in their identities. After all, the people around him were among the most honored figures on the Holy Continent.
Abel also discovered that no one from the royal family of the Kingdom of Saint Ellis had come to the banquet. Under normal circumstances, it would have been perfectly reasonable for the Kingdom of Saint Ellis's royalty to be absent from another country's prince's wedding.
But today was different. Distinguished figures from the other two empires had come to the banquet, while the Kingdom of Saint Ellis alone had not sent any royal family members. That made their absence seem rather unusual.
Important matters would not be discussed during a banquet. Abel, Duke Chesterton, and His Majesty Emperor Alders merely chatted about some insignificant topics.
When the banquet was halfway over, His Majesty Emperor Alders finally invited Abel and Duke Chesterton. The three of them went to a reception room, where the servants had already prepared red wine far better than that served at the banquet.
When Abel sat down, a servant brought over a cup of Water Spirit Fruit juice and carefully placed it on the tea table beside him.
Abel picked up the juice and smiled as he bowed slightly to His Majesty Emperor Alders. Whatever the case, this small gesture alone showed how highly Emperor Alders regarded him.
As Wizard Abel's cultivation deepened, he had little contact with alcohol. Although his powerful physique was enough to offset alcohol's effects, maintaining a clear mind was a wizard's most basic principle.
Wizards did not avoid red wine entirely. They simply drank it only in extremely safe places. When wizards fought,
