Abel took the book and opened it, only to find that it was filled with characters written in an unfamiliar cuneiform script.

"Wizard Abel, this inheritance was written in the barbarians' language. I can read it aloud to you according to the Book of Inheritance!" Barbarian Fex saw Abel's expression and knew that Abel could not understand the barbarians' writing.

The barbarians' language was also an obscure language on the Central Continent. Since the barbarians had no particularly extensive scholarly inheritance, very few people had mastered it.

"Fex, sorry for the trouble!" Abel thanked him.

Although the transaction had been described as a trade for an inheritance, now that the barbarians' Book of Inheritance had been handed to him, the transaction was essentially over. Barbarian Fex's actions saved Abel a great deal of trouble.

Barbarian Fex pointed at the writing in the Book of Inheritance and began reading it word by word. He did this because he wanted to show that he had no intention of deceiving Abel.

With ordinary inheritances, even getting one passage or one word wrong could cause the contents to deviate.

After Barbarian Fex finished reading it once, Abel's powerful memory had already recorded the entire inheritance. Moreover, through comparison, he had learned all the barbarian characters in the Book of Inheritance.

At least he would not be illiterate the next time he saw barbarian writing.

"Wizard Abel, there's one final passage that isn't in the Book of Inheritance. Please memorize it carefully. I'll only say it once!" Barbarian Fex spoke to Abel as if he had made up his mind.

Abel was stunned. He had not known that part of the contents was missing from the Book of Inheritance.

Barbarian Fex began reciting, and Abel focused his mind on remembering it.
