Moon of White Deer Malorne, the oldest demigod in the World of Azeroth, had fallen.
The Resistance Army had fought its way to the foot of the Capital Eldorei. The utterly ruined city ahead was now visible to the naked eye—that was where this war would end.
Then the elves encountered their most powerful enemy since the war began.
Archimonde the Defiler made his personal appearance.
This highest Grand Lord of the Eredar wielded terrifying Fel energy. His giant-like figure advanced unhurriedly, needing no cover or support from his army.
His spell, called Death's Finger, inflicted massive casualties on the Resistance Army. Countless soldiers died instantly in that red energy light, with no defense or ability to fight back—a completely unreasonable instant kill.
Elisande took a hit from it too, but at the critical moment, the energy eyeball on her staff burst into a fierce golden light, forming a Divine Shield. The energy of Death's Finger struck the Divine Shield without causing even a ripple.
The Archmage could feel the rage emanating from the Divine Eye. The Titan Divine Lord, who had never acted before, was now furiously enraged. For someone daring to try to kill his prized possession, Boss Hu decided to roll up his sleeves and personally go deal with him.
"Hold steady. Endure a little longer. The Divine Lord will arrive soon. Archimonde is as good as dead!"
Elisande's words gave the allied forces a dose of reassurance. As long as that Titan avatar, who had never lifted a finger, was willing to step in, the obstacle between them and the Capital Eldorei would no longer be a problem.
But holding on came at a cost—and that cost was Malorne.
The brave Moon of White Deer engaged Archimonde in close combat. This oldest of Wild Demigods even briefly gained the upper hand, his massive antlers forcing Archimonde back step by step.
Yet the vast gap in power was plain to see. The elven allied forces witnessed a sight that made their eyes burn with fury.
Archimonde seized the Moon of White Deer firmly, and then...
Crack!
A sharp sound rang across the entire battlefield.
Malorne's limp body was tossed back into the elven allied lines by the Defiler, kicking up a cloud of dust.
"Next... who's it going to be?"
Archimonde's cold voice rang out, dripping with endless murderous intent.
He had a bellyful of rage to vent over the Burning Legion's defeat.
The supreme Lord Sargeras was deeply displeased with him—this was his first setback in countless millennia. This world's resistance far exceeded any he had encountered before.
The elven allied forces fell silent. Then...
"I... I challenge you."
Jarod Shadowsong stepped forward, gripping his longsword tightly, though he knew it couldn't inflict even a scratch on Archimonde.
"Ah... pitiful allied commander. You're just as foolish as those rebellious ants... How should I kill you?"
Archimonde strode up to Jarod, lowering his head to look down at the tiny Night Elf, letting out a low laugh.
"I will fight to the end. You may kill me, but Azeroth will never give up resistance. The Burning Legion is doomed to fail!"
Jarod assumed a combat stance. As the commander of the Resistance Army, he was determined to defend the last shred of dignity.
"Then I shall—hmm?"
The sound of wings beating came from afar. Archimonde looked up at the distant sky.
Dragons. A sky-filling swarm of dragons.
The Dragon Aspects had officially joined the war.
"You think these big lizards can save you? Ignorant and pathetic. Your world will burn to ashes!"
No sooner had Archimonde spoken than he sensed an extremely terrifying energy fluctuation following close behind, rapidly approaching from afar. Its power was so immense that it even stirred a sense of fear in him—a fear he only felt when facing the Lord Sargeras.
"How is this possible?"
Jarod grinned at that moment.
"If I were you, Archimonde, I'd run right now. Otherwise, even your dark god won't be able to save you."
"Who! Who dares to attack my Elisande! I'll drag you out and roast you over Divine Flames!" A rumbling voice arrived ahead of its source, boundless might woven into its words.
Elisande among the Resistance Army immediately raised her staff, guiding her Divine Lord's targeting.
Never underestimate a woman's memory for grudges—even if you didn't actually hurt her.
Archimonde felt an extreme danger lingering around him. He looked down and saw a peculiar Arcane Pillar hovering over his heart.
Run! If I don't run now, I'll really die! I must warn the Lord—a mysterious, powerful being has appeared in the World of Azeroth.
A Divine Light Pillar howled in from the distance, like a spear brimming with killing intent.
Thick Fel Flame enveloped Archimonde, and the next moment, the Defiler vanished from his spot.
The Divine Light Pillar did not stop. It surged forward, annihilating every demon in its path in an instant, leaving not even ashes behind.
This Divine Spear slammed directly into the Capital Eldorei, piercing straight through the city before finally dissipating.
A wide, jagged scar split the entire city in two. The already battered Eldorei now looked even more like a massive ruin.
The Resistance Army finally breathed a sigh of relief. Then, under Jarod's orders, they set up camp on the spot to rest before the final assault.
The dragons hadn't originally planned to join this war so soon, but they too had been thrown into extreme tension by that existence in Suramar.
That God of Magic named Sarodar was very likely a living Titan from the Pantheon.
If even a Titan had rolled up its sleeves and stepped onto the battlefield in person, while he himself was still standing on the sidelines watching, that would truly be unbearable.
So, the moment they sensed that surge of energy in Suramar beginning to move, the Dragons immediately sprang into action, their main forces charging straight for the Night Elves' capital, Eldorei.
The final battle was about to erupt. The Burning Legion's main army had already fallen back to defend this once-glorious giant city.
Gazing at the pale purple city walls in the distance, Hu Feng fell silent for a moment, then flew toward the Resistance Army's main camp.
At the center of Eldorei, on the far side of the Portal by the shores of the Well of Eternity, Hu Feng could sense a very familiar presence.
The Dark Titan Sargeras—he hadn't expected to meet him again so soon.
He had to destroy the Portal before Sargeras could successfully descend; his current state was far from a match for Sargeras.
That wasn't surprising either. One was an unborn Titan World Soul, the other a veteran Dark Titan, once the Pantheon's top enforcer—the contrast couldn't be starker.
Oh, and there were the Old Gods too.
Hu Feng could also sense that deep within the Well of Eternity, the power of the Old Gods lingered like an unquiet spirit, as if they were plotting something.
At the same time, a peculiar current of sand swirled above the Well of Eternity.
That was the power of the Time Guardian. The Dragon King of Time, Nozdormu, must have also noticed the anomaly in the Well of Eternity, noticed the Old Gods' disturbance.
To be precise, that wasn't the Nozdormu of this moment, but a Nozdormu from some future point in time.
Only, his presence was fading, as if he was being forcibly stripped away and expelled from this timeline.
He had changed the destined course of fate, and this Nozdormu from the future was powerless to interfere with him, nor was his own timeline welcoming him anymore.
As for the Nozdormu of this moment, he seemed to have already accepted the current state of affairs.
The future self was no longer himself. If the Titans insisted on interfering and altering the destined fate, then he had no choice but to accept reality—and the future self in that originally destined fate would no longer be him.
It sounded a bit convoluted, but that should be the Dragon King of Time Nozdormu's current line of thought.
